The Browns converted Wills' (knee) fifth-year option Friday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. The 2020 first-round pick missed over half of the Browns' 2023 campaign with a knee issue, but the team has still decided to pick up his fifth-year option. Wills has started all 53 games he's appeared in for Cleveland since entering the league, so he's expected to retain that role in 2024 (barring any injury setbacks). This move also clears roughly $10.44 million in cap space for the Browns.... See More ... See Less

Browns' Jedrick Wills: Undergoes surgery, out for season
Wills (knee) underwent season-ending arthroscopic surgery on Tuesday, Jordan Schultz of BleacherReport.com reports. Wills was placed on injured reserve back in November after suffering a high-grade MCL sprain, a low-grade PCL sprain and bone bruises Week 9, and it's now confirmed that he will remain on IR for the duration of the 2023 campaign. Cleveland's offensive line already lost fellow starting tackle Jack Conklin (knee) back in Week 1, while rookie replacement Dawand Jones (knee) just suffered a season-ending injury of his own during Sunday's win over the Jaguars.... Browns' Jedrick Wills: Lands on IR
Wills (knee) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Wills was able to return to the Browns' Week 9 contest after dealing with a knee issue earlier in the game, but he was later carted off the field with a second knee injury after getting rolled up on by Kareem Hunt. James Hudson projects to step into Wills' spot on Cleveland's offensive line, and the team will be without both of its starting tackles going forward.... See More ... See Less -
Browns' Jedrick Wills: Expected to go to IR
Coach Kevin Stefanski said Monday that Wills (knee) will be placed on Cleveland's injured reserve list, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com reports. Per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Wills sustained a high-grade MCL sprain, a low-grade PCL sprain and bone bruises during Sunday's game versus Arizona. Once he's moved to the injured reserve list, he'll become ineligible to play in the Browns' next four games, and he could sit out even longer than that. In the meantime, 2021 fourth-rounder James Hudson is expected to take over as the starter at left tackle.... See More ... See Less -
Browns' Jedrick Wills: Back in action
Wills (knee) has returned to Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Ashley Bastock of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Wills left in the first half with the injury and was considered questionable to return. However, he was able to take the field to start the second and is back in the game at left tackle.... Browns' Jedrick Wills: Fifth-year option picked up
The Browns exercised Wills' fifth-year team option for 2024 on Monday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. Wills is entering his fourth season with Cleveland after the Browns selected him with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. The left tackle went down with a knee injury in early January, though the issue doesn't look to be anything that will endanger his availability for the start of the 2023 season. He'll take home a guaranteed salary of $14.18 million in 2024 after having his fifth-year option picked up.... See More ... See Less
