Pittsburgh summoned Blomqvist on Tuesday because Tristan Jarry was unavailable for Tuesday's 6-3 win over New Jersey due to an illness. If Jarry still isn't ready to return for Thursday's road game against Washington, Blomqvist might be recalled.

Blomqvist has been added to the Penguins' roster Tuesday, per the NHL media site.
Blomqvist's addition to the roster could be an indication that Tristan Jarry (illness) once again won't be available against New Jersey on Tuesday. The Penguins didn't carry a second netmidner on the roster versus the Rangers on Monday but will at least have Blomqvist available if needed.
