  • Maple Leafs' Noah Gregor: Resumes practicing Wednesday

Gregor (illness) returned to practice Wednesday and wore a regular jersey, per Terry Koshan of The Toronto Sun, which suggests he should be available Thursday versus the Islanders. Gregor didn't participate in Tuesday's 7-1 win over San Jose because of the illness. He has five goals, seven points, 13 PIM, 63 hits and 17 blocks in 37 outings in 2023-24. With Gregor expected back, Nick Robertson is likely to be a healthy scratch Thursday despite scoring a goal Tuesday.

  • Maple Leafs' Noah Gregor: Unavailable Tuesday

Gregor (illness) won't play Tuesday against the Sharks, according to NHL.com's Dave McCarthy. Gregor will be replaced in the lineup by Nick Robertson. Coach Sheldon Keefe mentioned that a bug was going around the team, so consider Gregor day-to-day for now. The 25-year-old forward has seven points, 62 shots on goal and 63 hits in 37 games this season.

  • Maple Leafs' Noah Gregor: Ice time oddly low

Gregor's ice time dropped to 9:03 Wednesday night in a 4-2 loss to the Senators. His ice time has been as high as 17:40 in the last couple weeks -- the last time he dropped below 10 minutes was Dec. 2 against the Bruins. Gregor is one of the fastest players in the NHL, and he is versatile enough to play on any line and on the power play. He's a great fourth-line guy who gets boosted minutes when he's flashing his skills, but that doesn't result in loads of offense. Gregor has five goals and two assists in 32 games this year.

  • Maple Leafs' Noah Gregor: Plays hero Tuesday

Gregor scored his third goal of the season and added the shootout winner in Tuesday's 2-1 victory over the Panthers. He also chipped in three shots on net, a hit, a blocked shot and a plus-1 rating. Gregor tied the game midway through the second period, stealing the puck at the Toronto blue line for a clear breakaway on Anthony Stolarz that he converted by clanking the puck off the crossbar and into the net. The 25-year-old Gregor then beat Stolarz again in the sixth round of the shootout. Gregor's spot on a checking line for the Maple Leafs gives him little fantasy upside, but he has supplemented his offense with 35 hits and 35 shots through 20 games.

  • Maple Leafs' Noah Gregor: First points since Opening Night

Gregor had a goal and an assist in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Canucks. Gregor's goal stood as the winner. He put the Leafs up 3-2 at 14:22 of the second frame after going high glove side on Vancouver's Thatcher Demko from above the left faceoff circle. Gregor scored on Opening Night, but had gone 13 games without a point. Nice night on the ice, but he's not going to contribute much in fantasy.

  • Maple Leafs' Noah Gregor: Agrees to one-year deal

Per Chris Johnston of TSN. Gregor agreed to a one-year contract worth $775,000 with Toronto on Tuesday. Gregor earned a standard contract with the Maple Leafs after attending training camp with the team on a professional tryout. He didn't receive a qualifying offer from San Jose in June, which made the 25-year-old an unrestricted free agent this offseason. In 57 appearances with the Sharks in 2022-23, he chipped in 10 goals, 17 points, 119 shots on net and 97 hits. Gregor is expected to occupy a fourth-line role with Toronto this campaign.

  • Maple Leafs' Noah Gregor: Inside line on fourth-line gig

Gregor, who is on a professional tryout contract, has impressed at Leafs camp and could break camp on the team's fourth line, reports The Athletic. Gregor is a speedy energy fourth-line player who impressed Monday alongside David Kampf and Ryan Reaves. He set up a power-play goal and hopped the boards with Kampf on PK1. Gregor's speed is his best attribute, and with it, he springs pucks and might bury 8-10 goals, even in limited ice. He has the inside line on the fourth-line gig because he's a winger -- it's the only spot open with Kampf sliding down to the fourth line because William Nylander is skating at center. That inside line doesn't make him fantasy worthy, but Gregor is a good story nonetheless.

San Jose did not qualify Gregor on Friday, making him an unrestricted free agent, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports. • Sharks' Noah Gregor: Pots lone goal in loss

Gregor scored a goal on three shots, added two hits and blocked two shots in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Flames. Gregor was able to score on Dustin Wolf in the Calgary netminder's NHL debut. That goal was it for the Sharks' offense, and it's fitting that Gregor got it. The 24-year-old has five tallies and four assists over his last 10 outings, continuing his strong push to end the 2022-23 campaign. He's at nine tallies, 16 points, 114 shots, 96 hits and a minus-10 rating through 56 appearances.

The 25-year-old winger hasn't done much this season with eight points, 95 shots on goal, 81 hits, 32 PIM and a minus-10 rating through 47 outings, though he was given a look alongside Tomas Hertl at even strength in Thursday's loss.

The 25-year-old's offense hasn't been consistent this season with six points, 68 shots and a plus-1 rating through 33 appearances, though he's added some grit with 55 hits and 21 PIM.

  • Sharks' Noah Gregor: Tallies in Thursday's win

Gregor scored a goal in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Wild. Gregor hadn't recorded a point in his last 10 games, and he sat out three contests as a healthy scratch in that span. The 24-year-old put the Sharks ahead 2-1 in the first period Thursday with his second goal of the campaign. The winger is up to two tallies through 18 contests overall, and he's added 35 shots on net, 21 hits and a minus-2 rating. He'll likely be a candidate to be a healthy scratch at times since he's shown very little consistency on offense.

  • Sharks' Noah Gregor: Opens scoring with first goal

Gregor scored a goal on two shots and added four hits in Monday's 5-1 win over the Senators. Gregor has been out of the lineup more often than not this year, mainly because of a lack of production. He stepped into a third-line role Monday and cashed in, scoring at 6:22 of the first period on an assist from Luke Kunin. The goal was Gregor's first point in seven appearances this season, and he's added nine shots, nine hits, five PIM and a minus-2 rating. While it might earn him a longer look in the lineup, fantasy managers can look elsewhere for their depth forwards.

  • Sharks' Noah Gregor: Signs one-year deal

Gregor secured a one-year, $950,000 contract with the Sharks on Monday, Jason Gregor of TSN1260 reports. Gregor played in a career-high 63 games for San Jose last season in which he set new personal bests in goals (eight), assists (15) and ice time per game (14:56). If the 24-year-old forward can push for a top-six role this upcoming campaign, he could be in line to challenge for the 30-point threshold while offering solid mid-range fantasy value.

  • Sharks' Noah Gregor: Opens scoring in loss

Gregor scored a goal on two shots and added four hits in Thursday's 3-1 loss to the Blues. Gregor has gotten on the scoresheet in three straight games with two goals and two helpers in that span. The 24-year-old is up to six tallies, 21 points 142 shots on net, 110 hits and a minus-16 rating through 58 contests. He's maintained a middle-six role lately, and the solid offense plus physical play could make him a decent budget option in DFS for the remainder of the season.
