Stars' Lian Bichsel: Back in NHL
Bichsel was recalled from AHL Texas on Friday.
Bichsel was sent down Wednesday as the Stars needed his cap room to activate Tyler Seguin (hip) from long-term injured reserve. The playoffs have no bearing on the salary cap, enabling the Stars to recall the 20-year-old defenseman. Bichsel had four goals and five assists across 38 regular-season NHL games before his demotion.

Stars' Lian Bichsel: Dropped to minors
Bichsel was reassigned to AHL Texas on Wednesday, Lia Assimakopoulos of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Bichsel's demotion will clear the necessary cap space for Tyler Seguin (hip) to be activated off long-term injured reserve. Additionally, the demotion of Bichsel and Alex Petrovic means Esa Lindell (rest) and Thomas Harley (rest) figure to be ready to play against Nashville on Wednesday.

Stars' Lian Bichsel: Finds twine Monday
Bichsel scored a goal on two shots and added three hits in Monday's 6-4 loss to the Red Wings.
Bichsel snapped a five-game goal drought with the tally, tying the game at 1-1 in the first period. The 20-year-old blueliner is up to four goals, nine points, 39 shots on net, 155 hits, 41 PIM and a plus-2 rating over 38 appearances. He'll probably be in the lineup for Game 1 of the playoffs versus the Avalanche, but Bichsel is the most likely blueliner to give way once Miro Heiskanen (knee) is able to play again.

Stars' Lian Bichsel: Buries goal Thursday
Bichsel scored a goal on four shots, added two PIM, logged three hits and went plus-2 in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Predators.
Bichsel tacked on a goal at 12:42 of the third period to produce the final score. He has two points, a plus-4 rating, 17 PIM and 16 hits across his last five contests. The 20-year-old is doing fine in a limited role on the third pairing, earning seven points, 31 shots on net, 132 hits, 37 PIM and a plus-6 rating across 32 appearances. Offense probably won't be his calling card in the long run, but he's shaping up to be a physically intimidating bottom-four option who can take care of business in his own zone.

Stars' Lian Bichsel: Assist, fight in win
Bichsel logged an assist, four hits and seven PIM in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Kraken.
Bichsel snapped a 13-game point drought with the helper, his first scoring contribution since Feb. 8 versus the Sharks. The 20-year-old defenseman has mostly been able to stick in the lineup because of his physical play, though he is stuck in a third-pairing role. He's produced six points, 126 hits, 18 blocked shots, 33 PIM, 27 shots on net and a plus-3 rating over his first 30 NHL appearances.

Stars' Lian Bichsel: Ruled out against Jets
Bichsel (illness) won't be in the lineup for Friday's clash with Winnipeg, Mike Heika of the Stars' official site reports.
Bichsel will be replaced in the lineup by Brendan Smith, who will be suiting up for the first time since March 2 against the Blues. For his part, the 20-year-old Bichsel has managed two goals on 21 shots, three assists and 90 hits while averaging 14:57 of ice time over 22 appearances this year.

Stars' Lian Bichsel: Questionable for Friday
Bichsel (illness) is likely to be a game-time Friday in Winnipeg, Sam Nestler of DLLS Stars reports.
Bichsel was under the weather when he woke up Thursday, head coach Peter DeBoer said, and was unsure whether or not Bichsel would be able to travel Thursday. The 20-year-old defenseman has two goals, three assists and 90 hits over 22 outings with Dallas this season. Should Bichsel sit out Friday, look for Brendan Smith to enter the lineup.

Bichsel was sent down by the Stars in a paper move earlier Friday, and he'll officially rejoin the NHL club after spending less than a day in the minors. Stars' Lian Bichsel: Sent down Friday
Bichsel was reassigned to AHL Texas on Friday.
Bichsel's demotion is almost certainly designed to give the Stars some more roster and cap flexibility ahead of Friday's trade deadline. Since mid-December, the 20-year-old blueliner has played in 20 NHL games for Dallas and will likely be recalled from the minors ahead of Saturday's clash with Edmonton.

Stars' Lian Bichsel: Available to return
Bichsel (concussion) is expected to be an option to play against New Jersey on Tuesday, Lia Assimakopoulos of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Bichsel could replace Brendan Smith in the lineup after missing the last three games. The 20-year-old Bichsel has two goals, five points, 15 shots on net, 12 blocked shots and 73 hits across 18 NHL appearances this season.

Stars' Lian Bichsel: Doubtful Sunday
Bichsel (concussion) isn't likely to play Sunday against St. Louis, though he's considered probable for Tuesday's matchup with the Devils, Lia Assimakopoulos of The Dallas Morning News reports.
It appears that Bichsel will miss a third straight game since suffering a concussion last week against the Islanders, though the 20-year-old defenseman has been skating in practice and appears poised to return early next week. Bichsel has two goals and five points in 18 games with Dallas this season.

Stars' Lian Bichsel: Unavailable Friday
Bichsel (concussion) is skating but has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Kings, according to Brien Rea of FanDuel Sports Network Southwest.
Bichsel was injured against the Islanders on Sunday and has already missed one game ahead of Friday's tilt against Los Angeles. The 20-year-old rookie defenseman has two goals, three assists and 73 hits across 18 appearances for Dallas this season. The good news is that he has been progressing and could return as early as Sunday versus St. Louis.

Stars' Lian Bichsel: In concussion protocol
Bichsel is in concussion protocol and will be sidelined for at least five to six days, according to Sean Shapiro of DLLS Sports on Tuesday.
With Bichsel's timeline in mind, the left-shot blueliner is in danger of missing Dallas' next two games. The 20-year-old sustained the injury in Sunday's game against the Islanders and did not return. Brendan Smith will slot in on the third pairing Tuesday against the Blue Jackets, most likely alongside Matt Dumba.

Stars' Lian Bichsel: Injured on Long Island
Bichsel sustained an upper-body injury in Sunday's game against the Islanders and will not return.
Bichsel was on the receiving end of a hard hit in the second period from Casey Cizikas, who received a five-minute major penalty on the play. The Stars can ill-afford to lose Bichsel -- Miro Heiskanen (knee) is on the shelf, and they will be without Nils Lundkvist (shoulder) for the rest of the campaign. Brendan Smith will draw back into the lineup Tuesday in Columbus if Bichsel is unable to suit up.

Stars' Lian Bichsel: Summoned from minors
Bichsel was recalled from AHL Texas on Tuesday.
Bichsel rejoins the Stars after being sent down before the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament. The left-shot blueliner should be able to carve out a consistent role due to long-term injuries to Miro Heiskanen (knee) and Nils Lundkvist (shoulder). Bichsel has registered two goals, three assists and a plus-6 rating across 16 games this season.

Stars' Lian Bichsel: Drops back to AHL
Bichsel was reassigned to AHL Texas on Saturday.
Bichsel had two assists, five shots on goal, four PIM, two hits and a plus-4 rating in Saturday's 8-3 win over the Sharks. He'll likely be back with the big club following the 4 Nations Face-Off break, as he has been filling in for Miro Heiskanen (knee) on the blue line. Bichsel has earned five points with 64 hits, a plus-6 rating and 14 shots on net over his first 16 NHL appearances.

Stars' Lian Bichsel: Posts helper in win
Bichsel notched an assist and four hits in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Blue Jackets.
This was Bichsel's first career helper, though he opened his NHL career with two goals over three games in December. The 20-year-old blueliner has a chance to carve out a role as a regular during Miro Heiskanen's (knee) absence, though Bichsel will be competing with Brendan Smith and Matt Dumba for regular minutes. Bichsel is at three points, seven shots on net, 50 hits, 10 PIM and a plus-1 rating through 13 appearances. His fantasy value is highest in formats that reward physicality, and he should be on the radar in dynasty leagues, though offense is unlikely to be a significant part of his production in the long run.

Bichsel was returned to the AHL on Dec. 30 and had no points in seven games, giving him three goals and nine points in 28 AHL games this season. The 20-year-old has two goals and 26 hits across eight NHL games this season. Bichsel is likely to be a healthy scratch when the Stars face Vegas on Friday, barring any injuries to their top-six defensemen.
