Jiricek was sent to AHL Lehigh Valley on Wednesday.
Jiricek completed the NHL regular season with no points, 16 PIM, eight hits and 19 blocks in 26 outings between Minnesota and Philadelphia. He also has four goals, 23 points and 25 PIM in 36 AHL appearances between Lehigh Valley and Iowa this campaign. The Phantoms will not make the playoffs, which could lead to him rejoining the Flyers soon to be a member of the Black Aces.

Flyers' David Jiricek: Agrees to two-year extension
Jiricek signed a two-year, $3 million contract extension with the Flyers on Wednesday.
Jiricek has four goals and 20 points in 34 AHL outings between Iowa and Lehigh Valley in 2025-26. He also had no points, 14 PIM, 15 shots, eight hits and 19 blocks in 25 appearances with Minnesota this season before he was dealt from the Wild to Philadelphia on March 6 in exchange for Bobby Brink. Although Jiricek is in the minors, his new contract suggests that Philadelphia anticipates him playing in the NHL next season.

Flyers' David Jiricek: Three helpers with new team
Jiricek logged three assists in AHL Lehigh Valley's 4-3 overtime win over Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday.
Jiricek has earned four points over his first three games with the Phantoms. He has 14 points in 27 contests overall at the AHL level this season, which he started in the Wild's organization. It's unclear if Jiricek will get a look on the Flyers' blue line before the end of the season, but he should be in contention for a spot on the Opening Night roster for 2026-27.

Flyers' David Jiricek: Heading to Philadelphia
Jiricek was traded to the Flyers from the Wild on Friday in exchange for Bobby Brink, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Jiricek was the sixth overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, but he was traded to the Wild from the Blue Jackets in November of 2024 and will be on the move for a second consecutive season. He's made 25 appearances with Minnesota this year, being held without a point while recording 19 blocked shots, 14 PIM and eight hits while averaging 11:43 of ice time. He was sent to AHL Iowa on Thursday, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him join the NHL club in Philadelphia at some point, especially if the Flyers trade away some of their other contributors.

Jiricek spent the past several weeks with the NHL club, and he recorded no points, five blocked shots, three hits and two PIM while averaging 10:38 of ice time over seven appearances during that time. He'll be sent to the minors ahead of the Olympic break, which should allow him to see playing time in Iowa during the league's layoff.

Even with the defenseman's call-up, he may find himself watching from the press box as a healthy scratch.
