Ferguson was sent back to AHL Belleville on Tuesday. Ferguson's demotion is a good indication that Cam Talbot (lower body) will at least be healthy enough to serve as the backup against the Flyers on Thursday, though Ferguson could still be called up prior to that tilt. During his stint in the NHL, the 24-year-old Ferguson logged two appearances for the Sens in which he posted a 1-1-0 record, 2.52 GAA and .940 save percentage.... See More ... See Less

Senators' Dylan Ferguson: Allows four goals to New Jersey
Ferguson stopped 30 of 34 shots in a 5-3 loss to New Jersey on Saturday. Ferguson allowed at least a goal in each period, including two markers on 13 shots in the second frame. New Jersey's final goal was scored on an empty net. Ferguson was making his second NHL start of the 2022-23 campaign after saving 48 of 49 shots in a 2-1 victory over Pittsburgh on Monday.... Senators' Dylan Ferguson: Set to start Saturday
Ferguson will guard the road goal versus the Devils on Saturday, Mike Morreale of NHL.com reports. Ferguson won his first NHL start March 20 versus the Penguins, stopping 48 of 49 shots, but he'll face a tougher test Saturday. The Devils have averaged 3.46 goals per game, good for sixth in the NHL, so Ferguson will likely have his work cut out for him, especially with defenseman Jakob Chychrun (lower body) out.... Senators' Dylan Ferguson: Good to serve as backup
Ferguson (illness) will serve as the backup goaltender versus Tampa Bay on Thursday, per TSN 1200 Ottawa. Ferguson wasn't available for Tuesday's contest against Boston due to the illness. He made his NHL season debut Monday, stopping 48 of 49 shots in a 1-0 victory over Pittsburgh. Mads Sogaard will be in net against the Lightning.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Dylan Ferguson: Dealing with illness
Ferguson (illness) won't be in the lineup Tuesday against Boston, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports. Ferguson will sit out at least one contest after making 48 saves in Monday's 2-1 victory over Pittsburgh. Kevin Mandolese is up from the minors to serve as Mads Sogaard's backup.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Dylan Ferguson: Makes 48 saves in season debut
Ferguson saved 48 of 49 shots in Ottawa's 2-1 victory over Pittsburgh on Monday. Ferguson made his debut back in 2017, stopping just one of two shots in 9:14 of ice time in a relief appearance. Now 24 years old, he's finally gotten his second chance to play in the NHL and made the most of it. That might be enough to earn Ferguson another start, especially with Cam Talbot (lower body) and Anton Forsberg (knee) unavailable and Mads Sogaard struggling after allowing at least four goals in each of his last six starts.... Senators' Dylan Ferguson: Guarding cage Monday
Ferguson will get the starting nod in Pittsburgh on Monday, Penguins radio play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff reports. Ferguson is set to make his first NHL start and second appearance after debuting in relief with Vegas during the 2017-18 season. The 24-year-old has posted a .935 save percentage in six AHL contests this season. He'll take on a Penguins team that's dropped three straight games.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Dylan Ferguson: Up with Ottawa
Ferguson was summoned from AHL Belleville on Sunday. Ferguson has a 5-1-0 record with Ottawa's top-minor league affiliate to go along with a 2.00 GAA and a .935 save percentage. In a corresponding move, Kevin Mandolese was returned to the minors.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Dylan Ferguson: Links up with Senators
Ferguson signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Senators on Thursday for the remainder of the 2022-23 season, per CapFriendly. This move likely just shores up the Senators' organizational goaltending depth. Ferguson's lone NHL appearance came in 2017-18 with Vegas. He's spent the bulk of the year in a reserve role with AHL Toronto.... See More ... See Less -
Golden Knights' Dylan Ferguson: Rises to active roster
Ferguson was promoted to the active roster Thursday, David Schoen of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. Ferguson will again back up Robin Lehner in Thursday's game versus the Canadiens. The 23-year-old Ferguson has yet to play for the Golden Knights this season, and he has just one NHL appearance to his name.... See More ... See Less -
Golden Knights' Dylan Ferguson: Returns to taxi squad
Ferguson was assigned to the taxi squad Tuesday, per CapFriendly. Ferguson could be back with the big club if Laurent Brossoit (undisclosed) isn't ready to play Thursday versus the Canadiens. Robin Lehner remains likely to get the start in that contest, though Ferguson could dress as the backup.... See More ... See Less -
Golden Knights' Dylan Ferguson: Backing up Monday
Ferguson was promoted from AHL Henderson for Monday's game against the Penguins, David Schoen of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. With Laurent Brossoit (undisclosed) still out, Ferguson will serve as the backup behind Robin Lehner. The 23-year-old Ferguson is sporting a .918 save percentage through seven AHL games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Golden Knights' Dylan Ferguson: Back on taxi squad
Ferguson was called up to the taxi squad Tuesday, per CapFriendly. Ferguson will likely continue to bounce between the taxi squad and active roster until Laurent Brossoit (undisclosed) returns from injury.... See More ... See Less -
Golden Knights' Dylan Ferguson: Demoted to AHL
The Golden Knights reassigned Ferguson to AHL Henderson on Friday. It's unclear why Las Vegas added Ferguson to the taxi squad then removed him so shortly after. The 23-year-old only figures to enter an NHL game this season if both Golden Knights regular goalies become unavailable.... See More ... See Less -
Golden Knights' Dylan Ferguson: On taxi squad
The Golden Knights added Ferguson to the taxi squad from AHL Henderson on Friday. Ferguson spent a day on the NHL roster earlier this week and served as backup goalie for one game. His only NHL experience came during the Golden Knights' debut season, when he entered a game in relief and stopped one of two shots.... See More ... See Less -
Golden Knights' Dylan Ferguson: Sent back to AHL Henderson
Ferguson was reassigned to AHL Henderson on Wednesday, per CapFriendly. Ferguson served as backup to Logan Thompson in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Predators. The 23-year-old Ferguson is unlikely to reach higher than the taxi squad once Robin Lehner (lower body) or Laurent Brossoit (undisclosed) returns.... See More ... See Less -
Golden Knights' Dylan Ferguson: Returning to AHL Henderson
Ferguson was reassigned to AHL Henderson on Tuesday, per CapFriendly. With Robin Lehner (upper body) activated from long-term injured reserve, Ferguson's presence at the NHL level is no longer needed. The 22-year-old hasn't drawn into a game for the Golden Knights this season.... See More ... See Less -
Golden Knights' Dylan Ferguson: Back to minors
Ferguson was reassigned to AHL Henderson on Sunday, CBS Sports reports. Ferguson spent some time on the taxi squad as insurance with Robin Lehner (upper body) out. He'll head back to AHL Henderson, where he recorded a 24-save shutout in his only appearance this season.... See More ... See Less -
Golden Knights' Dylan Ferguson: Starting versus Coyotes
Ferguson will start against the Coyotes during Sunday's preseason opener, David Schoen of the Las Vegas Review Journal reports. Ferguson will be backed up by Zach Fucale, who is also expected to log some time in net. The 19-year-old unlikely to make the team out of camp, and he's expected to be sent back to juniors to play for the Kamloops Blazers of the WHL. Ferguson posted a .907 save percentage and 2.95 GAA in 59 games for the Blazers last season.... See More ... See Less -
Golden Knights' Dylan Ferguson: Makes NHL debut against Oilers
Ferguson made his NHL debut Tuesday against Edmonton, stopping one of two shots in relief of Max Lagace. The 19-year-old Ferguson was thrown into the fire midway through the third period after Lagace gave up seven goals on 29 shots. It's hard to fault the youngster on the Mark Letestu goal he allowed, but with Malcolm Subban (lower body) nearing a return, we likely won't see much more of Ferguson this season. The Kamloops native became the fifth goaltender to appear in the Vegas crease this season, as injuries have just piled up for the Golden Knights' netminders. Ferguson has a bright future ahead of him, but expect him to be sent back to the WHL soon, with Lagace seeing the majority of crease time in the meantime.... See More ... See Less
