Palmieri was a full participant in practice Wednesday, but it was as an extra forward and not part of any line. Since he wasn't skating on any specific line and then was seen after practice working with Ross Johnston, another frequent scratch would seem to indicate that Palmieri won't play Thursday. Perhaps he will make that return Saturday versus the Canadiens.

This likely means that Palmieri won't play versus the Canucks on Tuesday. The Islanders will probably want Palmieri to participate in at least one full practice before he appears in a game. This would mean that assuming he can practice Wednesday, he could play in one of the back-to-back games the team plays versus the Oilers on Thursday and the Flames on Friday.

Palmieri could take to the ice on Saturday, but it was after practice. It would seem unlikely that the team, even as banged up as they are, would put him in a game until he can participate in a full practice and prove he can take a hit. The Islanders are off Monday. If Palmieri came through his light skate Saturday without a problem and can practice Monday or Tuesday, then he could return to the lineup Tuesday night versus the Canucks.
