Penguins' Erik Karlsson: Stays hot in Tuesday's win
Karlsson scored a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Blue Jackets.
Both points came in the third period as the Penguins broke open what had been a 2-2 tie after 40 minutes. Karlsson has found the scoresheet in six straight games, recording multiple points in five of them, and on the season the former Shark and Senator has five goals and 15 points in 14 contests with 34 shots on net, 19 blocked shots and a plus-8 rating.

Penguins' Erik Karlsson: Five-game, nine-point streak
Karlsson scored twice Saturday in a 4-0 win over Buffalo.
His first, which pushed the score to 3-0, deflected in off the stick of Buffalo defender Erik Johnson on a power play in the first minute of the third. His second went into an empty net. Karlsson has nine points (three goals, six assists) on a five-game point streak after putting up just three points in his first eight games. Four of those points have come on the power play. It has taken some time to find chemistry with his new teammates, but things are finally looking up for Karlsson and his fantasy managers. It will be hard to replicate his triple-digit point total from last season, but never say never, especially if the Pens' stars stay healthy.

Penguins' Erik Karlsson: Dishes pair of assists
Karlsson notched two assists in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Kings.
Karlsson has a goal and six helpers over his last four games, all against Pacific Division opponents. The defenseman helped out on the Penguins' last two goals Thursday, including Bryan Rust's game-winning tally in overtime. Karlsson's offense has been essentially as advertised -- he's picked up two goals, nine helpers, 28 shots on net, 16 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating through his first 12 appearances with the Penguins.

Karlsson logged an assist, five shots on goal and five blocked shots in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Ducks.
Karlsson helped out on a Radim Zohorna tally in the first period. There hasn't been a lot of consistency for Karlsson, but he has a goal and four helpers over his last three games after snapping a four-game dry spell. The blueliner is up to nine points, 27 shots on net, 16 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating through 11 contests while playing on the second pairing and first power-play unit.

Penguins' Erik Karlsson: Two helpers in return to San Jose
Karlsson recorded two assists, two blocked shots, two PIM and a plus-5 rating in Saturday's 10-2 win over the Sharks.
Karlsson's return to San Jose saw his new team completely control the game. This was his third multi-point effort of the season, though he's also been held without a point six times in 10 contests. Karlsson had 101 points in 82 games with the Sharks last season, but he's been limited to a solid eight points with 22 shots on net, 11 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating to begin 2023-24.

Karlsson tallied a goal and an assist in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Ducks.
Karlsson opened the scoring with a power-play goal in the first period before adding a second point with the man advantage, an assist on Evgeni Malkin's tally late in the second. The two-point effort snapped a stretch of four games without a point for Karlsson. He now has two goals and four assists through nine games with Pittsburgh after leading all defensemen with 101 points (25 goals, 76 assists) last year in San Jose.

Karlsson powered the Penguins' offense, helping out on goals by Evgeni Malkin and Bryan Rust while tallying one himself. The 33-year-old Karlsson had been limited to one assist over his first three games with the Penguins. Through four outings, he's added 12 shots on net, five blocked shots, four hits and a plus-2 rating while primarily playing on the second pairing.

The veteran rearguard had the secondary helper on Evgeni Malkin's opening goal in the second period, Karlsson's first point as a member of the Penguins after going scoreless Tuesday against the Blackhawks. The defenseman finished with a plus-1, with three shots on goal and one blocked shot in his 21:46 of ice time. He'll look to keep up the good work Saturday against the Flames.

Penguins' Erik Karlsson: Pointless in debut
Karlsson went pointless with two shots and three blocked shots in the Penguins' 4-2 loss to the Blackhawks on Tuesday.
Acquired this offseason from San Jose, Karlsson was unable to hit the scoresheet Tuesday versus the Blackhawks. He posted two shots and three blocked shots along with a minus-2 rating in 26:04 TOI. After posting a career-high 101 points with the Sharks last year, Karlsson will have a chance to put up another strong offensive season playing on the top power-play unit and top-four defensive core. His next opportunity to record his first point as a Penguin will come Friday against the Capitals.
