Cominsky (wrist) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against the Patriots. Cominsky underwent thumb surgery on his right hand at the end of September, but he's still being listed with a wrist injury. The extent of the injury remains unclear, but his next chance to suit up will be in Week 7 against the Cowboys.... See More ... See Less

Lions' John Cominsky: Held out of practice Wednesday
Cominsky didn't practice Wednesday due to a wrist injury. Cominsky played 31 defensive snaps against Washington and recorded a sack, but he presumably picked up a wrist injury as well. The extent of the issue remains unclear, but the reserve defensive lineman's participation at practice Thursday and Friday should provide further clarity on his availability for Week 3.... Falcons' John Cominsky: Not playing against Dallas
Cominsky (shoulder) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports. Cominsky was a limited participant in Friday's session and ultimately won't suit up. The Falcons will be quite thin in terms of defensive depth, and this means Mike Pennel will probably handle a bigger workload than usual.... See More ... See Less -
Falcons' John Cominsky: Not on injury report
Cominsky (head) was absent from Wednesday's injury report, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports. Cominsky is expected to start the season as a backup on the Falcons' defensive line. The 2019 fourth-round pick has recorded 39 tackles, 1.5 sacks and two pass breakups through 23 career games.... See More ... See Less -
Falcons' John Cominsky: Taken off reserve/COVID-19 list
Cominsky (illness) was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday, Jason Butt of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Cominsky has been cleared again after spending two weeks on the reserve/COVID-19 list. The Falcons already played their Week 8 game Thursday, but Cominsky should be able to practice next week and rejoin his teammates on the field in Week 9 against Denver.... See More ... See Less -
Falcons' John Cominsky: Questionable heading into Week 6
Cominsky (illness) is listed as questionable with Atlanta entering its Week 6 matchup against the Vikings, Jason Butt of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. The 24-year-old defensive lineman is dealing with a non-COVID-related illness as the 0-5 Falcons lumber into U.S. Bank Stadium to face Minnesota's 15th-ranked scoring offense. Cominsky has contributed little in the pass-rush department since entering the league in 2019, collecting three QB hits and half a sack over 15 appearances. He does, however, have a tackle for loss in consecutive outings coming into Week 6. Whether Cominsky is afforded an opportunity to extend that streak may come down to a game-time decision.... Falcons' John Cominsky: Commended by star teammate
Grady Jarrett says he has been "really, really impressed" with Cominsky in training camp, William McFadden of the Falcons' official site reports. Jarrett expanded by stating that he has "100-percent confidence" in the second-year man out of Division-II Charleston (WV), and that "it's night and day" regarding the improvements Cominsky has made to his game since wrapping up his first professional season in late December. Cominsky fielded a mere 10 percent of the defensive snaps during 2019, but based on the fact that both his Pro Bowl teammate and his head coach have noticed serious strides in his skill set, it's likely his 2020 workload will be an increase from last year.... Falcons' John Cominsky: Questionable for Sunday
Cominsky (ankle) is questionable to play Sunday against the Buccaneers, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports. Cominsky practiced as a limited participant Thursday and Friday to earn the questionable tag. The 24-year-old didn't have an injury designation for last week's game against the Panthers after missing the previous game, but he didn't end up seeing the field.... See More ... See Less -
Falcons' John Cominsky: Trending in the right direction
Cominsky (ankle) practiced on a limited basis Thursday, Jason Butt of The Athletic reports. The rookie fourth-round pick out of Charleston could not go Wednesday, so the fact that he was able to get in some reps Thursday indicates that he's trending towards retaking the field in the near future. Cominsky has been forced to sit out back-to-back games for the Falcons after dressing for every contest between Weeks 1 and 8. If Cominsky proves healthy enough to play Sunday, he will be facing a Buccaneers offense that so far this season has surrendered the fourth-most sacks per game (3.6), while also leading the NFL with 25 giveaways.... Falcons' John Cominsky: Set to face Panthers
Cominsky (ankle) does not carry an injury tag for Sunday's tilt against the Panthers, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Cominsky practiced in a limited capacity Friday, and he appears to have fully recovered from the ankle sprain that sidelined him Week 10. Expect the rookie fourth-round pick to play his usual reserve role along Atlanta's defensive line versus the Panthers on Sunday.... See More ... See Less -
Falcons' John Cominsky: Won't play Sunday
Cominsky (ankle) was ruled out for Sunday's game at New Orleans, Jason Butt of The Athletic reports. Cominsky suffered an ankle sprain Week 8 and needs additional time to recover coming out of the bye week. The 23-year-old has played double-digit defensive snaps only three times this season, so Atlanta's defense is unlikely to be significantly impacted by his absence.... See More ... See Less
