Gordon tallied three tackles in the Bears' 17-9 loss to the Packers on Sunday. After Gordon played 823 snaps as a rookie a year ago, Chicago drafted cornerback Tyrique Stevenson in the 2023 draft, which pushed Gordon into the No.3 role, resulting in a drop to 623 snaps. In 14 games, the second-year corner posted 61 tackles, two interceptions and one sack. Gordon will enter the 2024 season in the third of a four-year contract.... See More ... See Less

Bears' Kyler Gordon: Playing Sunday
Gordon (calf) is active Sunday against the Packers. Gordon tweaked his calf in practice Thursday, which landed him on the injury report and put his Week 18 status into question. However, the second-year pro has recovered quickly enough that'll he be on the field for the Bears' last game of the season.... See More ... See Less -
Bears' Kyler Gordon: Questionable with calf injury
Gordon (calf) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Green Bay, Harrison Graham of ChatSports.com reports. Per Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com, coach Matt Eberflus said Gordon "tweaked" his calf Thursday but is "hopefully trending in the right direction." If he's sidelined for Week 18, rookie fifth-rounder Terell Smith could see an expanded role.... See More ... See Less -
Bears' Kyler Gordon: Collects first sack of season
Gordon recorded eight tackles, including a sack, in the Bears' 27-16 win over the Cardinals on Sunday. Gordon has posted at least seven tackles in four of his last six games, and he's only had fewer than four tackles on one occasion since Week 6. As a result of his overall production, Gordon will remain a solid-floor IDP option as the season winds down.... See More ... See Less -
Bears' Kyler Gordon: Season-high tackle total
Gordon recorded eight tackles in the Bears' 16-13 win over the Panthers on Thursday. Gordon has posted between four and eight tackles in each of his last five games, and he should continue to be a high-floor IDP going forward.... See More ... See Less -
Bears' Kyler Gordon: Moves to IR
Gordon (hand) was placed on injured reserve Thursday, Larry Mayer of the Bears' official site reports. Gordon has been unable to practice since suffering the injury in Sunday's loss to the Packers. The second-year pro will now be forced to miss at least the next four games while he recovers. In his absence, Terell Smith and Greg Stroman will be candidates to see extra work in the secondary.... Bears' Kyler Gordon: Settling into slot role
Gordon has had a strong training camp, and he projects to be the Bears' starting slot corner, Adam Jahns of The Athletic reports. Gordon struggled as a rookie, playing on the outside in 2022. However, he has been outstanding this summer, and seemingly faces little competition for a starting role defending the slot.... See More ... See Less -
Bears' Kyler Gordon: Embracing nickel position
Gordon said Wednesday that he's fully embracing a role as the Bears' nickel cornerback in 2023, Mark Grote of 670TheScore.com reports. Gordon had a successful rookie campaign, posting 71 tackles, three interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He rotated between the slot and outside cornerback spots last year, but he looks like he'll be playing primarily inside in Year 2, meaning that rookie second-round pick Tyrique Stevenson may be the favorite for the starting spot opposite Jaylon Johnson. Moving inside will likely put Gordon in positions to make more impact plays, which should bode well for his IDP production.... See More ... See Less -
Bears' Kyler Gordon: Inactive in season finale
Gordon ended the season with 71 tackles, three interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery over 14 games played. After being selected in the second round of the 2022 draft, Gordon had an excellent rookie season. He averaged five tackles and also picked off three passes, and aside from two games in which he didn't record a tackle, he had at least five stops in the majority of games. He seems to be a player on the rise and may quickly become one of the top IDP players at cornerback as early as 2023. He's under contract through 2025.... See More ... See Less -
Bears' Kyler Gordon: Intercepts third pass of season
Gordon picked off a pass and posted five tackles in the Bears' 35-13 loss to the Bills on Sunday. Gordon now has three interceptions over his last seven games, though his tackle numbers have been inconsistent over the last four weeks, as he's posted between zero and eight tackles over that span. His inconsistency makes him a volatile weekly IDP option.... See More ... See Less -
Bears' Kyler Gordon: Clears concussion protocol
Coach Matt Eberflus said Monday that Gordon cleared concussion protocols during the team's Week 14 bye, Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Gordon missed back-to-back games due to a concussion heading into the Bears' Week 14 bye, but the extended time off appears to have been beneficial. While it appears the rookie second-round pick will suit up Sunday against the Eagles, his official status likely won't be known until Chicago releases its first Week 15 injury report sometime Wednesday.... Bears' Kyler Gordon: Solid in pro debut
Gordon tallied six stops in the Bears' 19-10 win over the 49ers on Sunday. Although the 49ers posted just 13 completions, Gordon led the Chicago defensive backs in tackles. Playing across from Jaylon Johnson, it's possible that opponents choose to attack Gordon often, which could lead to him posting strong tackle totals over the season.... See More ... See Less -
Bears' Kyler Gordon: Onward to the Windy City
The Bears selected Gordon in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 39th overall. Chicago bypassed receiver help to address the secondary by nabbing Gordon out of Washington. Though Gordon did not have the draft hype of teammate Trent McDuffie, there's a reason he went early in the second round. Gordon broke up nine passes and picked off two passes as a senior. He is 5-foot-11 and 194 pounds so bigger receivers will give him trouble if he has to play outside the slot. He figures to compete for reps with Duke Shelley and Tavon Young opposite Jaylon Johnson.... See More ... See Less
