Whitaker (knee) reverted to IR on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Whitaker will now be forced to miss the 2023 campaign unless he reaches an injury settlement with the team. However, considering he will need surgery to repair his patellar tendon, it's possible he'd be unable to play this season, settlement or not.

Whitaker suffered a patellar tendon injury during a team scrimmage Friday, which will need surgery to be repaired. Upon clearing waivers, the Washington product will revert to injured reserve.

Whitaker sustained a patellar tendon injury during Saturday's scrimmage and will require surgery, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Whitaker was carted off the field Saturday and is dealing with a significant injury. He wasn't expected to have a significant role in the Seahawks defense this year and will now shift his focus toward his lengthy recovery process.

It is unclear what Whitaker injured or how serious it is. However, a return to camp sooner than later would be advantageous, as he is competing agrainst a crowded cornerback room and likely on the outside looking in as of now.
