  • Bears' D'Andre Swift: Heading to Chicago

Swift and the Bears agreed to terms Monday on a three-year, $24 million contract, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. It's the first major deal reported during the free-agent negotiating period and can't be made official until Wednesday afternoon. Swift figures to step in as the lead back for an offense with a new coordinator (Shane Waldron) and likely a new quarterback (Caleb Williams?), though he probably won't be a workhorse given that the Bears also have Khalil Herbert and 2023 fourth-round pick Roschon Johnson under contract. Herbert, in particular, is a threat to take a good chunk of the carries, as he's averaged 4.9 yards on 364 totes through three pro seasons. Herbert hasn't done much in the passing game -- 43 catches, 4.9 YPT -- and doesn't figure to get many chances there now that Swift is on the team.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Disappointing end to season

Swift (illness) had 10 carries for 34 yards and caught all four of his targets for 32 yards in Monday's 32-9 loss to Tampa Bay. Swift returned to action after missing the Eagles' regular-season finale with an illness. Philly's lead back didn't have his usual burst on his rushing attempts (3.4 YPC), as he might have still been feeling the effects from the illness he just overcame. Whatever the case may have been, it was a down game from nearly every offensive player not named DeVonta Smith (8-148-0 receiving line). Swift's regular season had a much brighter tone, as the former Detroit Lion unlocked his first 1,000-yard season following his trade to the Eagles this past offseason. With Philadelphia's season officially concluding with the loss to Tampa Bay, Swift will enter free agency on the heels of his best statistical season to date.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Full practice Thursday

Swift (illness) practiced fully Thursday. Swift didn't show up on the Eagles' Week 18 injury report until Friday as limited due to an illness and entered last weekend as questionable. He proceeded to be inactive this past Sunday at the Giants, allowing the trio of Kenneth Gainwell, Boston Scott and Rashaad Penny to man the team's backfield in that contest. With three more days to recover from his ailment, Swift was able to handle every rep to begin the week and thus is in line to resume his standing as Philadelphia's lead runner in Monday's wild-card game in Tampa Bay.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Sitting out Sunday

Swift (illness) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Giants. Swift was a surprise addition to the injury report Friday, when he was listed as questionable for the Week 18 contest after he was a limited participant in the Eagles' final practice of the week due to the illness. The running back had still been hopeful to play in the regular-season finale, but Swift ultimately didn't make enough progress in his recovery from the ailment to gain clearance to play. With Swift out of the mix for Sunday's game, the Eagles are likely to lean on Kenneth Gainwell as their primary running back, though reserves Boston Scott and Rashaad Penny could have roles in the offensive game plan as well.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Unlikely to play Sunday

Swift (illness) remains listed as questionable but isn't expected to play Sunday against the Giants, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. A late addition to the Week 18 injury report after he was a limited participant in practice Friday, Swift apparently wasn't able to make enough progress in his recovery from the illness over the last two days to give it a go Sunday. Swift's status will be verified when Philadelphia releases its inactive list approximately 90 minutes prior to the game's 4:25 p.m. ET kikckoff. Assuming Swift ends up sitting out, the Eagles could take a three-pronged committee approach to the backfield featuring Kenneth Gainwell, Boston Scott and Rashaad Penny.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Questionable after limited practice

Swift is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants with an illness. Despite being ill Friday, Swift took part in the Eagles' final Week 18 practice as a limited participant, so he'll most likely be ready to play come Sunday. The Eagles have already clinched a postseason spot, but because the team can win the NFC East with a victory plus a Dallas loss to Washington, Philadelphia isn't expected to rest key players. With that in mind, Swift should be in store for his usual role Sunday as the Eagles' lead back, provided his condition doesn't take a turn for the worse leading up to the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Reaches 1,000 rushing yards

Swift rushed 13 times for 61 yards and caught his lone target for five yards in Sunday's 35-31 loss to Arizona. Swift paced Philadelphia's backfield with 13 carries Sunday, losing just two carries to backup Kenneth Gainwell. The former didn't pop off any highlight-reel runs in the last-minute loss, but Swift finished the game with 1,000 rushing yards in a season for the first time in his career. The Eagles' star tailback will enter the final week of the regular season with 1,263 yards from scrimmage (1,049 rushing yards) and six combined touchdowns through 16 games.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Start Him (Lineup Decisions)

Swift has exceeded 15 PPR points in six games this season, scoring in five of those six. Of his remaining nine games he has one touchdown from scrimmage. He's a borderline non-factor in the passing game and gets vultured by Jalen Hurts at the goal line consistently. If there's any reason for optimism this week, it's the matchup against Arizona, who ranks bottom-five in yards per carry allowed (4.8), defensive rush EPA allowed, yards before contact per rush allowed (1.59) and run rate of 10-plus yards (13.7%) allowed over the past seven games. More importantly, the Cardinals have been run on the most by running backs in those seven games (29.1 rush attempts per game). And of the 14 rushing touchdowns RBs have scored on Arizona this season, seven have come from five or more yards away from the goal line, which is good because it's rare to see Swift score from closer than that. Swift has 18 and 20 carries in his past two games, both with solid efficiency. He should be pretty good even if he doesn't score, but a touchdown would make him outstanding. He's a No. 2 RB I would start over Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Devin Singletary, Joe Mixon, Tony Pollard and Kenneth Walker.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: RBs to Start

It would be hilarious if the Eagles let Boston Scott get a significant amount of work in Week 16 since he absolutely owns the Giants. In eight games against the Giants in his career, Scott has 86 carries for 414 yards and nine touchdowns and 17 catches for 222 yards and one touchdown on 22 targets. He has a touchdown in eight games in a row against the Giants going back to 2019. It's incredible. Now, we know Scott barely plays as the third-string running back behind D'Andre Swift and Kenneth Gainwell, and hopefully Swift can beat up the Giants like Scott typically does. I thought Swift ran well in Week 15 at Seattle with 18 carries for 74 yards and two catches for 1 yard on three targets. A running back has scored at least 13.9 PPR points against the Giants in six of the past seven games, and I like Swift as a No. 2 Fantasy running back in all leagues.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Solid rushing night in loss

Swift rushed 18 times for 74 yards and brought in two of three targets for one yard in the Eagles' 20-17 loss to the Seahawks on Monday night. Swift had only five more carries than Jalen Hurts, but the running back's tally still tied for his second highest this season. His yardage haul was his third over 70 in the last five games as well, and Swift was able to get back on the stat sheet as a pass catcher, albeit modestly, after being blanked in that department against the Cowboys in Week 14. Swift next takes aim at the porous Giants run defense in a Week 16 matchup on Christmas Day, one he'll enter 104 rushing yards shy of his first 1,000-yard campaign.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Stymied in Week 14 loss

Swift rushed 11 times for 39 yards in the Eagles' 33-13 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday night. The game script began to turn away from the Eagles' ground game fairly early, as the Cowboys owned a 10-0 lead after one quarter and a 24-6 advantage by halftime. That helped lead to one of Swift's lower rush-attempt totals of the season, and despite the sizable deficit Philadelphia operated with most of the game, Swift was also shut out of the passing game altogether for the first time in his Eagles tenure, making it a disappointing all-around night. The fourth-year pro will aim to bounce back in a Week 15 road matchup against the Seahawks on Monday night, Dec. 18.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: RBs to Sit

Swift will hopefully be healthy for this game after getting banged up late in Week 13 against San Francisco. But if he plays, I would only use Swift as a flex option at best in the majority of leagues. He's been held to 9.4 PPR points or less in three of his past four games, including his first meeting with the Cowboys in Week 9 when he had 18 carries for 43 yards and two catches for 31 yards on two targets. Touchdowns are tough for Swift (he has four rushing on the season) because of Jalen Hurts and the tush push, and he's been held to two catches or less in four of his past five games. The Cowboys have been tough on running backs all season and are No. 3 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to the position, and Swift could struggle once again in Week 14.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Avoids injury report

Swift (undisclosed) wasn't listed on the Eagles' first Week 14 injury report Wednesday. Swift was on the receiving end of a big hit at the tail end of this past Sunday's loss to the 49ers, visiting the sideline tent for a spell before going to the locker room. The reason for his departure wasn't divulged, but the fact that he didn't have any restrictions at Wednesday's walk-through session suggests he's good to go for this Sunday's game against the Cowboys. Swift is coming off his worst performance of the season as the Eagles' No. 1 back, having combined for just 20 yards from scrimmage on eight touches Week 13.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Logs full practice Thursday

Swift (ankle) practiced fully Thursday. Swift kicked off Week 13 prep with a limited listing on Wednesday's estimated practice report due to an ankle injury. Unlike last week, though, he got back to all activity one day earlier (Thursday versus Friday), putting himself in a position to continue to lead the Eagles backfield this weekend. Swift is facing a tough task Sunday against a 49ers defense that has allowed the second-fewest rushing yards (658) and eighth-least touchdowns (six) to opposing running backs in 11 games on the campaign.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Still tending to ankle injury

Swift (ankle) was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's practice estimate. Like he was a week ago, Swift is kicking off Week 13 prep with a cap on his reps at Wednesday's walkthrough. If he follows the same on-field routine this week, he'll remain a limited participant Thursday before upgrading to full activity Friday and clearing up any concern about his status for Sunday's game versus the 49ers. Swift didn't seem worse for wear this past Sunday against the Bills, turning 15 touches into 84 yards from scrimmage while handling a 63 percent snap share.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Strong showing on ground Sunday

Swift carried the ball 14 times for 80 yards and caught his only target for four yards in Sunday's 37-34 overtime win over the Bills. Nearly half of Swift's production came on a 36-yard run in the second quarter that helped set up an A.J. Brown touchdown, but he also broke loose for a 16-yard gain in OT that set the stage for a game-winning TD scamper by Jalen Hurts. It was Swift's best performance on the ground since Week 3, but he's seen at least 15 touches in 10 straight games and has already set a new career high in rushing yards with 770 through 11 contests. He's just 29 scrimmage yards short of his second career season with 1,000 heading into a Week 13 tilt against the 49ers.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Stays limited Thursday

Swift (ankle) was listed as limited on Thursday's practice report. Swift continues to have a cap on his listed reps due to an ankle injury as the Eagles prepare for Sunday's contest against the Bills. As such, his listing, or lack thereof, on Friday's report could be telling for the state of Philadelphia's backfield for Week 12. If Swift ends up ceding RB reps this weekend, Kenneth Gainwell likely would be the primary beneficiary.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Tops 100 total yards in Week 11

Swift rushed 12 times for 76 yards and a touchdown while catching all three of his targets for 31 yards in Monday's 21-17 win over Kansas City. With Philadelphia's passing game stuck in first gear, Swift and the rushing attack led the way offensively, as all three of the Eagles' touchdowns came on the ground. He tied the game at 7-7 with a four-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter, before helping set up Jalen Hurts' 10-yard rushing score in the third quarter with a 35-yard run earlier on the drive. After exceeding 100 yards from scrimmage for the fourth time this season, Swift should remain a key part of the game plan Week 12 against the Bills.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Bottled up by Dallas

Swift carried the ball 18 times for 43 yards and caught both his targets for 31 yards in Sunday's 28-23 win over the Cowboys. While his final yardage numbers were respectable, Swift was contained on the ground by the Dallas front seven and averaged a woeful 2.4 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Kenneth Gainwell scored on a 12-yard run in the first quarter, and even Rashaad Penny saw his first totes since Week 2 in the second half as the Eagles tried to get their running game going. Swift's 20 touches still dominated the backfield (Gainwell and Penny had six touches combined), but the former Lion hasn't reached 80 scrimmage yards in four straight games. Swift will get a bye next week to recharge before preparing for a Super Bowl rematch with Kansas City in Week 11.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Top DFS Play

With Raheem Mostert, Breece Hall, and Austin Ekeler all off the main slate, Swift ranks as my second-highest projected scorer at running back on FanDuel this week. The player projected to score more points is Alvin Kamara, who is priced $2,000 higher. Take the discount on Swift in cash games.
