Austin Traylor: Stashed on Detroit's practice squad
Traylor signed a contract to join the Lions' practice squad, Justin Rogers of the Detroit News reports.
Traylor never seemed to have a realistic chance of cracking a deep depth chart in Detroit and he's probably not even the best tight end that was signed to the Lions' practice squad, given the presence of Isaac Nauta. The rookie out of Wisconsin is primarily a developmental prospect and is unlikely to make any sort of impact in 2019.

Lions' Austin Traylor: Headed to Motor City
Traylor and the Lions agreed on an undisclosed contract Tuesday.
Traylor comes to Detroit via the Salt Lake Stallions of the AAF, where he caught two passes for 12 yards in eight games. He also was part of the Broncos' practice squad in 2017 and was elevated to the active roster, where he suited up in seven games, and hauled in eight catches for 100 yards.

Broncos' Austin Traylor: Out Monday with shoulder injury
Traylor (shoulder) did not participate in Monday's practice, Mike Klis of 9News.com reports.
Traylor, who sustained a shoulder sprain during Saturday's preseason loss to the Vikings, was kept to the sideline Monday as he observed practice. The injury doesn't sound too severe, but he joins Jeff Heuerman (knee) and rookie Troy Fumagalli (sports hernia) as other Broncos tight ends dealing with health-related issues.

Traylor sustained a shoulder injury during Saturday's preseason opener against the Vikings, Zac Stevens of BSNDenver.com reports.
It isn't clear when or how Traylor suffered the injury, nor is it certain how severe his situation is. The extent of Traylor's usage has been a surprise to start camp, Cecil Lammey of 104.3 The Fan reports.
This is a Broncos tight-end room with few established options. Jake Butt and Troy Fumagalli have yet to play an NFL snap, while Jeff Heuerman, a 2015 third-round pick, has yet to live up to his draft position in three seasons. Traylor, undrafted out of Wisconsin, actually played more offensive snaps (179 to 139) than Heuerman during the final five weeks of the 2017 season. Don't be surprised if Traylor finds a way to make the team.

Broncos' Austin Traylor: Ends season on Denver roster
Traylor finished 2017 with eight catches and 100 yards on 13 targets.
Traylor saw a mid-season promotion to the active roster and the Wisconsin product promptly saw the field for more offensive snaps than longtime starter Virgil Green. He faded down the stretch, but Traylor provides Denver with a flex tight end to develop alongside more traditional Y-tight end Jake Butt and, to a lesser extent, Jeff Heuerman. Traylor could be a No. 2 option at the position next season depending on how the offseason shakes out.

Broncos' Austin Traylor: Gets starter-level snaps
Traylor caught both of his targets for 16 total yards during Sunday's 35-9 loss in Miami.
Traylor joined his first professional active roster three weeks ago and took the starting job. Traylor has led Denver tight ends in offensive snaps in each of the past three weeks and logged 53 on Sunday as compared to former starter Virgil Green's 21 and former third-round pick Jeff Heuerman's 14. It's hard to judge Traylor's abilities too much with the Broncos' never-ending disaster at quarterback, but the second-year player has showed promise late in the season.

Traylor's lone reception set up Denver's first touchdown of the game early in the fourth quarter. Traylor has developed quickly in Denver's offense with a dearth of competition around him. The Wisconsin product, again, was tops among Denver tight ends with 33 offensive snaps and figures to see plenty of more as the team looks to see what it has in young talent moving forward.

Traylor caught four of five targets for 36 yards in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Bengals.
It wasn't a bad career debut for Traylor, who was activated after Denver's tight-end room caught the injury bug. Not only did Traylor haul in four catches, he led the team's tight ends in offensive snaps 53 to 41 over starter Virgil Green. Traylor's ability to split out wide certainly looked appealing for a Denver offense that has struggled to squeeze production out of its tight ends. With more questions than answers in Denver's offense, expect Traylor to continue to get plenty of looks -- especially after the team cut pass-catching tight end A.J. Derby.
