    The Lions re-signed Skipper to a one-year contract Monday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. A fan favorite in Detroit, Skipper appeared in all 17 regular-season games for the Lions last season and made five starts. He should again fill his sixth offensive lineman role as the Lions' top backup behind starting tackles Taylor Decker and Penei Sewell.

    Detroit signed Skipper (hamstring) to its active roster Saturday. Skipper suffered a hamstring injury in Detroit's Week 3 win over the Falcons. He has been sidelined since but now appears ready to provide depth along the offensive line in Sunday's matchup against the Buccaneers.
