  • Lions' Jared Goff: Leads team to victory

Goff completed 23 of 34 pass attempts for 224 yards with no touchdowns or turnovers in Sunday's 20-16 win over the Packers. Goff played mistake-free football to help the Lions finish with a winning record while knocking Green Bay out of playoff contention in the process. The 28-year-old felt like discarded goods following the trade to Detroit in 2021, but he showed tremendous poise and growth this season with 4,438 passing yards and a 29:7 TD:INT ratio. With numbers better resembling the totals from his promising start with the Rams, Goff's stock certainly is on the upswing heading into the 2023 season.

  • Lions' Jared Goff: QBs to Start

Goff finally had a good outing on the road in Week 16 at Carolina with 31 Fantasy points, and he's in a groove right now, scoring at least 21 Fantasy points in five of his past six games. The Packers have been stingy against quarterbacks lately, keeping Justin Fields, Baker Mayfield, Tua Tagovailoa and Kirk Cousins to 19 Fantasy points or less, but I'll stick with Goff in this matchup, which could be for the final wild-card spot in the NFC.

  • Lions' Jared Goff: Dominates Bears in win

Goff completed 21 of 29 passes for 255 yards with three touchdowns while rushing once for two yards during Sunday's 41-10 win over Chicago. While fantasy managers would have preferred the Bears to do their part in turning this meeting between two bad defenses into a shootout, Goff again diced up the Chicago secondary after shredding them to the tune of 9.1 yards per pass attempt in Week 10. He also kept things clean while going an eighth consecutive game without throwing an interception. With Detroit yet to secure a playoff bid, look for Goff and the Lions to again come out in full force in a pivotal Week 18 matchup in Green Bay.

  • Lions' Jared Goff: QBs to Start

Goff finally played well on the road in Week 16 at Carolina with 31 Fantasy points, and he now has at least 21 points in four of his past five games. Goff only scored 16 Fantasy points at Chicago in Week 10, but he should do much better than that in Detroit. Three of the past four quarterbacks against the Bears have scored at least 26 Fantasy points, and this should be a fun game with plenty of offense. Goff could be a top-five quarterback in Week 17.

  • Lions' Jared Goff: Start Him (Lineup Decisions)

Goff has posted at least 25 Fantasy points in three of his past four with his only bad game coming on the road against a strong Jets defense. This is about the exact opposite of that against a beleaguered Bears defense in Detroit. I feel good starting Goff over Tom Brady, Geno Smith and Justin Herbert.

  • Lions' Jared Goff: Top DFS Play

Goff has been a Fantasy star at home this season, with 20 touchdowns in eight home starts. The Bears are arguably the worst defense in the league and Justin Fields should score enough to keep Goff passing. He has top-five upside and should be the most popular quarterback in cash games.

  • Lions' Jared Goff: Three TDs against Panthers

Goff completed 25 of 42 passes for 355 yards with three touchdowns while rushing three times for 15 yards and fumbling once during Saturday's 37-23 loss to Carolina. Goff put together a fine stat line for fantasy purposes, but the near complete lack of help from the run game made it difficult for the Lions to keep up with the Panthers, who had no problem running the ball. It didn't help that Jamaal Williams (leg) left the game in the third quarter, not to mention that Goff had numerous passes batted down at the line of scrimmage. Should Williams need to miss time, look for Detroit to scheme up a pass-heavy game plan in Week 17 against a Bears defense allowing the third-most yards per pass attempt (7.8) this season.

  • Lions' Jared Goff: QBs to Sit

Goff was on his way to another disappointing road game in Week 15 at the Jets before he connected with tight end Brock Wright late in the fourth quarter for a 51-yard touchdown. Without that play, Goff would have had 201 passing yards and no touchdowns, and he continues to struggle away from Detroit. He only had 16 Fantasy points against the Jets and has now scored 16 points or less in all six road outings. The Panthers have allowed just one quarterback to score more than 15 Fantasy points against them in their past four outings, and Goff will be tough to trust on the road again.

  • Lions' Jared Goff: Grinds out ugly win

Goff completed 23 of 38 passes for 252 yards with one touchdown during Sunday's 20-17 win over the Jets. Right when it seemed that the Lions passing game was finding its groove again, the Jets defense proved to be a tough test. Goff struggled to get into the end zone all game but got lucky in the fourth quarter, when Brock Wright sprung wide open on a crafty play on 4th-and-1 that ended with the tight end weaving his way to a 51-yard score. Up until that point, Goff dinked and dunked his way to his fewest yards per pass attempt (6.6) in three weeks, as the Jets were largely successful in preventing any of Amon-Ra St. Brown, DJ Chark or Jameson Williams from getting loose for any big plays. Goff and company will look to get back on track in a more favorable Week 16 matchup with the Panthers.

  • Lions' Jared Goff: QBs to Sit

Goff has done a great job lately and deserves all the praise he's getting for helping the Lions get into playoff contention. He has scored at least 21 Fantasy points in three games in a row, and he just had 31 points against Minnesota in Week 14 with 330 passing yards and three touchdowns. But all of those games were at home, and he has struggled on the road this season. In five games away from Detroit, Goff is averaging just 8.6 Fantasy points per game, which is clearly miserable. And the Jets have allowed just three quarterbacks all season (Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow and Josh Allen twice) to score at least 21 Fantasy points. For the season, the Jets allow an average of just 14.7 Fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. This could be a rough week for Goff.

  • Lions' Jared Goff: Sit Him (Lineup Decisions)

This will sound silly to read, but it is a risk to sit Goff in Week 15. He's played great for three straight, but if conditions aren't favorable and the Jets' pass rush bugs him, it's going to be a challenging game. You should aim to play it safer at quarterback and start Aaron Rodgers or even Derek Carr instead.

  • Lions' Jared Goff: Another stellar effort Sunday

Goff completed 27 of 39 passes for 330 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions while also gaining nine yards on two rush attempts in the Lions' 34-23 win over the Vikings on Sunday. Goff turned in a second consecutive 300-yard, multi-touchdown, interception-free effort to extend what has been the best stretch of play of his career by all accounts, one that's led the team to dispute the notion he's only a "bridge" quarterback to a future high draft pick, per Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. The veteran signal-caller connected with Jameson Williams, Josh Reynolds and DJ Chark for touchdown passes of 41, five and 48 yards, respectively, and he impressively led the Lions to either a field goal or touchdown on all four second-half drives. The Lions are in the thick of the NFC wild-card mix at minimum thanks in large part to Goff's play, but he'll have a thorny road matchup against the Jets in Week 15 that will serve as a stringent test of his hot streak.

  • Lions' Jared Goff: Sleepers (Start/Sit)

Goff was excellent in Week 13 against Jacksonville with 25 Fantasy points, and he has consecutive games of at least 21 points. He has scored at least 18 Fantasy points in six of seven home games this year, and he has a favorable matchup in Week 14 against Minnesota. The Vikings have allowed four quarterbacks in a row to pass for at least 307 yards, and three of them have scored at least 21 Fantasy points. Goff has top-10 upside in this potential shootout at home.

  • Lions' Jared Goff: Start Him (Lineup Decisions)

It's always tough to trust Goff, but the matchup sets up perfectly for him. His receiving corps is deep (not to mention fast), his pass protection is mostly good, he's been playing moderately well of late and he's in a game with potential to be high-scoring. The biggest worry is having Detroit's running backs steal short-yardage touchdowns from him! I'm happy to call Goff a top-12 quarterback this week worth starting ahead of Tyler Huntley, Tom Brady and Deshaun Watson.

  • Lions' Jared Goff: Nearly flawless in big win

Goff completed 31 of 41 passes for 340 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Lions' 40-14 win over the Jaguars on Sunday. Goff started the game off hot and never really let up, ultimately completing passes to eight different pass catchers and recording 10- and four-yard scoring tosses to Amon-Ra St. Brown in the first and fourth quarters, respectively. The performance marked Goff's third over 300 yards this season and his second straight with two touchdown passes. Consequently, he'll head into an important Week 14 home showdown against the Vikings with plenty of momentum.

  • Lions' Jared Goff: Sleepers (Start/Sit)

Goff likes playing at home, and he should do well this week against the Jaguars, who have allowed three quarterbacks in a row to score at least 22 Fantasy points. Goff just had 21 Fantasy points in Week 12 against Buffalo and has now scored at least 18 Fantasy points in five of six home games this season. There's the potential of a shootout in Detroit against the Jaguars and Trevor Lawrence, and I expect Goff to perform like a low-end No. 1 quarterback in all leagues. It also should be fun to see what Goff and the Lions do with rookie Jameson Williams now that he's expected to make his NFL debut in Week 13.

Goff had 21 Fantasy points in Week 12 against Buffalo and has now scored at least 18 Fantasy points in five of six home games this season. There's the potential of a shootout in Detroit against the Jaguars in Week 13, and then he gets Minnesota at home in Week 14. He also could get prize rookie Jameson Williams (knee) on the field in the near future. Goff is worth using as a low-end starter in all leagues against the Jaguars, and he should be added for up to 5 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Lions' Jared Goff: Two touchdowns in narrow defeat

Goff completed 22 of 37 pass attempts for 240 yards with two touchdowns in Thursday's 28-25 loss to Buffalo. Goff put together a respectable stat line for fantasy purposes despite losing yet another scoring opportunity to Jamaal Williams and his league-leading 13 rushing touchdowns. However, the QB ended the game on a low note when the Lions were down three in Bills territory facing 3rd-and-1 and Goff decided to overlook multiple open receivers to poorly attempt a pass downfield to DJ Chark. With that said, better days could be ahead for Goff now that Detroit's offense -- which led the league in many offensive categories through the first few weeks of the season -- is getting significantly healthier. The impending debut of explosive rookie Jameson Williams (knee) can only bolster Goff's upside down the stretch.
