Brandon Doughty: Let go by Cardinals
Doughty was waived by the Cardinals on Monday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.
Doughty's stint with the Cardinals was a short one, as he joined the team just a few days ago. He'll look to latch on elsewhere this offseason but seems doubtful to land a spot on a regular-season roster. Doughty has yet to play a down in the NFL since being selected in the seventh round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Doughty was waived by the Dolphins after spending the past two seasons with the team. He'll likely battle for the third-string position with Alek Torgersen, who was also claimed off waivers Thursday.

Doughty signed a Reserve/Future contract with the Dolphins on Tuesday.
Doughty was taken by the Dolphins in the seventh-round of the 2016 Draft, but still has not made his NFL debut with the team. He spent the entirety of the 2017 season, and all but one week of the 2016 season on their practice squad. The Western Kentucky product will look to earn a spot on the 53-man roster in the 2018 season.

The Dolphins elected to keep just two active quarterbacks on their final roster in Jay Cutler and Matt Moore. Doughty will remain within the organization and essentially serve as the No. 3 quarterback for the team.

Brandon Doughty: Waived by Dolphins
Doughty was released by the Dolphins on Wednesday, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.
Doughty's release leaves the Dolphins with just two options at quarterback in Ryan Tannehill and Matt Moore, while the team had to make room for defensive tackle Chris Jones who they signed Wednesday. Given he clears waivers, Doughty figures to be added to Miami's practice squad in hopes they can keep him as part of the organization moving forward. The rookie is expected to get another shot at an NFL roster in the future.

Doughty is old for a rookie and showed some problems with decision making earlier in his career, but he was extremely productive for the last two. After falling just short of 10,000 yards and 100 passing touchdowns over the last two years, Doughty will hope his video game numbers translate to NFL success.
