  • Eagles' Robert Quinn: Designated to return from IR

Head coach Nick Sirianni said Quinn (knee) will be designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Josh Tolentino of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Quinn will be able to practice Wednesday for the first time since landing on injured reserve due to a knee injury he suffered during Week 13 prep. With the move, the veteran pass rusher opens a 21-day window to be added to the active roster. However, if he isn't activated during that period, he'll revert back to IR for the remainder of the season. Quinn had 18.5 sacks for the Bears a year ago, so his presence could provide a major boost to the Eagles' defense ahead of the postseason.

  • Bears' Robert Quinn: Questionable due to illness

Quinn (illness) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants. Quinn didn't practice Thursday due to an illness but returned Friday as a limited participant. The veteran defensive end is off to a slow start in 2022 -- he has only one sack through three games after posting 18.5 sacks last year -- but his potential absence would still be a huge blow to Chicago's defense. He'll have until Sunday to clear his current aliment, but a decision on his availability may not come until closer to Sunday's 1:00 PM ET kickoff.

Quinn tallied two sacks and two tackles in the Bears' 45-30 loss to the Packers on Sunday. Quinn notched 3.5 sacks and five tackles in the Bears' 16-13 loss to the Ravens on Sunday. Despite Khalil Mack (injured reserve) and Akiem Hicks missing this game, Quinn was a one-man wrecking crew against a Baltimore offense that was without Lamar Jackson. With 10 sacks and 31 tackles on the season, this has easily been Quinn's best season of his career aside from his 2013 campaign with the Rams.

Quinn finished the 2019 season with 34 tackles (26 solo) including 11.5 sacks, three passes defended and two forced fumbles in 14 games. Working opposite DeMarcus Lawrence on the Cowboys' defensive line, the 29-year-old Quinn actually ended up leading the team in sacks despite missing the first two games of the season due to suspension, as he posted the second-best performance of his career in that category behind only the massive 19 sacks he piled up in 2013 for the Rams. An unrestricted free agent, Quinn most likely earned himself a hefty payday with his efforts, although his first season in Dallas is likely to be his last as the team has bigger priorities when it comes to re-signing players this offseason -- beginning with Dak Prescott.
