  • Saints' Mark Ingram: Moved to IR, ending season

The Saints placed Ingram (knee) on injured reserve Wednesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports. Ingram suffered an MCL tear in a Week 13 loss to Tampa Bay, likely leaving him with a recovery and rehab timeline of 4-to-6 weeks. He's now officially ruled out for the remainder of the regular season, and he might not be ready for the start of the playoffs even in the highly unlikely scenario that the Saints earn a spot. New Orleans is left with Eno Benjamin, David Johnson and Dwayne Washington as its depth options behind top running back Alvin Kamara.

  • Saints' Mark Ingram: Out at least four weeks

Ingram (knee) suffered an MCL tear during Monday's loss to the Buccaneers and is expected to miss 4-to-6 weeks, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Ingram could be done for the rest of the season, with the Saints only having four more regular-season contests after their Week 14 bye. The best candidate to replace the veteran running back as the No. 2 option behind Alvin Kamara may be Dwayne Washington, though the team also has David Johnson and Derrick Gore on the practice squad.

  • Saints' Mark Ingram: Inefficient in defeat

Ingram totaled seven rushes for 27 yards and caught all five targets for 22 yards during Monday's 17-16 loss versus the Buccaneers. Ingram totaled double-digit touches for the first time since Week 4, as he struck a balanced workload with No. 1 running back Alvin Kamara (12 carries, two receptions). However, both running backs failed to produce any explosive runs against Tampa Bay's defense. Ingram also went down on the field after being tackled near the sideline early in the second half, which caused him to be evaluated in the Saints' medical tent, according to John Hendrix of SI.com. While he managed to return, New Orleans coach Dennis Allen said that the veteran back injured his knee when he went out of bounds one yard shy of picking up a first down later in the fourth quarter, per Jacques Doucet of WAFB 9Sports. The 32-year-old Ingram will have extra time to recover during the Saints' Week 14 bye.

  • Saints' Mark Ingram: Logs full practice

Ingram (foot) was a full practice participant Friday. Ingram is set to handle his familiar role as Alvin Kamara's backup for a second straight week, after missing three games with an MCL sprain. He got four carries for 10 yards in his first game back, while Kamara had 13 touches and Taysom Hill took seven. Kamara did lose two fumbles in the game, and it's possible Ingram gets more work if the ball-security issues continue Monday night in Tampa Bay.

  • Saints' Mark Ingram: Dealing with foot injury

Ingram (foot) was limited at practice Thursday. Ingram put an end to a three-game absence this past Sunday in San Francisco after tending to an MCL sprain, playing 30 percent of snaps on his way to four carries for 10 yards and no catches on his only target. Meanwhile, Alvin Kamara (13 touches) and tight end Taysom Hill (seven touches) got more work than Ingram out of the backfield. Ingram has exchanged the knee injury for a foot issue this week, so his status will be one to watch as the Saints continue to prep for Monday's visit to Tampa Bay.

  • Saints' Mark Ingram: Active in Week 12

Ingram (knee) is active for Sunday's Week 12 clash against the 49ers. The veteran running back will make his return following a nearly four-game absence when factoring in Ingram played only five snaps before suffering his injury in Week 8 against the Raiders. Ingram will slot back into his usual role as a complementary option behind Alvin Kamara in an unenviable matchup against a 49ers defense allowing an NFL-low 64.0 rushing yards per home game.

  • Saints' Mark Ingram: Questionable to return this week

Ingram (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers. Limited practice participation Wednesday through Friday leaves Ingram truly questionable ahead of the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff. He missed the past three games with an MCL sprain and might only be the third rushing option behind Alvin Kamara and Taysom Hill if he plays this weekend. Ingram's replacements, Dwayne Washington and Jordan Howard, combined for five touches over the past three games.

  • Saints' Mark Ingram: Limited again Thursday

Ingram (knee) was listed as limited on Thursday's practice report, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports. Ingram appears to be closing in on his first game action since Week 8, as he's managed back-to-back capped showings this week. If he's able to gain clearance to play following a three-game absence due to a sprained MCL, it'd be fortuitous timing with the Saints' top running back Alvin Kamara unable to practice Thursday due to an illness. If Kamara is limited or out Sunday at San Francisco, Ingram would be the biggest beneficiary if he's able to ditch his injury designation.

  • Saints' Mark Ingram: Returns to practice

Ingram (knee) returned to practice Wednesday as a limited participant. Ingram missed the past three games but may have a shot to play this Sunday against the 49ers. The matchup is a tough one on paper, and Taysom Hill may be the No. 2 rushing threat behind Alvin Kamara more so than Ingram, the nominal No. 2 running back. Ingram isn't likely to offer much value this season without Kamara missing time.

  • Saints' Mark Ingram: Out another week

Ingram (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Rams. With Ingram missing a third straight game, the Saints are left with Dwayne Washington and Jordan Howard behind Alvin Kamara, the latter of whom played 88 and 79 percent of snaps the past two weeks. Ingram hasn't practiced since suffering a Grade 2 MCL sprain in a Week 8 loss to the Raiders.

  • Saints' Mark Ingram: Idle for another practice

Ingram (knee) wasn't present for Thursday's practice, Terrin Waack of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Ingram hasn't practiced in any fashion since being diagnosed with a Grade 2 MCL sprain of his knee following the Saints' Week 8 win over the Raiders. Unless he makes a surprise appearance at practice Friday as a limited or full participant, Ingram will likely be ruled out for a third straight game heading into the weekend. Dwayne Washington is currently the next man up at running back behind starter Alvin Kamara, but if Ingram is sidelined for Sunday's game against the Rams, David Johnson could be elevated from the practice squad to handle the team's No. 2 role this weekend.

  • Saints' Mark Ingram: Not ready for practice

Ingram (knee) didn't practice Wednesday, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Ingram missed the last two games and likely will miss another week or two, though he hasn't yet been ruled out for this Sunday's game against the Rams. Alvin Kamara has played nearly all the running back snaps in Ingram's absence, though it hasn't amounted to much with the Saints struggling to hold possession in two straight games.

  • Saints' Mark Ingram: Officially out for Week 10

Ingram (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game in Pittsburgh, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports. Given that Ingram was diagnosed with an MCL sprain after exiting the Saints' Oct. 30 win over the Raiders and was facing an expected recovery timetable of 3-to-4 weeks, he was never considered likely to miss fewer than one game due to the injury. After Ingram failed to practice in any fashion this week, it's thus no surprise that he'll be sidelined for a second consecutive game. Dwayne Washington will likely step in as the Saints' No. 2 running back in Ingram's stead, with starter Alvin Kamara presumably taking on an even larger workload than usual as a result.

  • Saints' Mark Ingram: Absent from practice

Ingram (knee) wasn't spotted at the Saints' practice session Thursday, Terrin Waack of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. The Saints estimated Ingram as a non-participant during Wednesday's walk-through session, and it looks as though he'll maintain that listing when the team holds a more formal practice Thursday. Given that he suffered an MCL sprain in the Saints' Week 8 win over the Raiders that is expected to sideline him multiple weeks, Ingram's lack of practice activity comes as little surprise. He'll most likely be officially ruled out for Sunday's game in Pittsburgh at the conclusion of Friday's practice.

  • Saints' Mark Ingram: Not practicing

Ingram (knee) is listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports. The backup running back missed Monday's loss to the Ravens and likely will be out for at least another game or two after suffering an MCL sprain Oct. 30. The Saints used Dwayne Washington as their No. 2 running back with Ingram out Monday night, though Washington didn't get many chances in a game where Baltimore dominated possession and Alvin Kamara was able to play 88 percent of offensive snaps.

  • Saints' Mark Ingram: Out for Monday

Ingram (knee) won't play Monday against the Ravens, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports. Ingram is expected to miss 3-to-4 weeks after spraining his MCL in last Sunday's win. While Dwayne Washington might see more time spelling Alvin Kamara, it's also possible the team will call up long-time veteran Jordan Howard, who could be a good candidate for the similar types of carries that Ingram got to begin the year.

  • Saints' Mark Ingram: Likely to miss time with MCL sprain

Ingram (knee) suffered an MCL sprain during Sunday's blowout win over the Raiders and is expected to miss 3-to-4 weeks, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Ingram could be a candidate to land on IR for a minimum of four games, depending on the Saints' internal estimates of his return timetable. That could provide Dwayne Washington with an opportunity to step into the No. 2 running back spot behind Alvin Kamara, though perhaps the true beneficiary of increased opportunities would be Taysom Hill, who saw a season-high 10 carries for 61 yards versus Las Vegas.

  • Saints' Mark Ingram: Won't return Sunday

Ingram (knee) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Raiders, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Ingram caught his only target for two yards and didn't record a rushing attempt before leaving the contest in the first half with a knee injury. Alvin Kamara has been dominant Sunday, but Ingram's absence may lead to increased running opportunities for the versatile Taysom Hill.

  • Saints' Mark Ingram: Injures knee Sunday

Ingram was forced out of Sunday's game against the Raiders with a knee injury. Prior to his exit from the contest, Ingram caught his only target for two yards. In his absence, top back Alvin Kamara figures to be busy, while the versatile Taysom Hill could see added touches in New Orleans' Week 8 offense.

  • Saints' Mark Ingram: Inefficient in primetime

Ingram rushed four times for six yards while securing all three of his targets for 16 yards during the Saints' 42-34 loss to the Cardinals on Thursday. Ingram matched his lowest total of the season with four carries during Thursday's matchup, and he was held under 10 rushing yards for the first time this year. While he slightly propped up his fantasy results with an 11-yard reception late in the fourth quarter, it was a discouraging performance from the 32-year-old after he racked up 57 yards from scrimmage last week. The Saints face another tough run defense in the Raiders in Week 8.
