Britt is visiting the Redskins on Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Britt spent the 2018 campaign out of football after the Patriots released him Aug. 22 due to persistent issues with his hamstring. Seemingly back to full strength, the 30-year-old will need to battle for a roster spot wherever he signs, even if it's a team like Washington with an incredibly weak depth chart at wide receiver. Britt previously played with Redskins quarterback Case Keenum for the 2016 Rams during the lone 1,000-yard season of the wideout's career.

Kenny Britt: Books workout with New England
Britt (hamstring) scheduled a workout with the Patriots on Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The Patriots released Britt on Aug. 22 with an injury designation, but the team's decision to welcome him back for a workout suggests he's now reasonably healthy. With the team seemingly not fully comfortable with its existing depth wideouts, Britt might be viewed as an upgrade over No. 5 receiver Corey Coleman, who signed with the team last week. However, any hope for a reunion between Britt and the Patriots may have been extinguished after Rapoport reported Monday that the team is nearing a deal with the Browns to acquire Josh Gordon.

The purge of injured wideouts continues in New England, with Britt following the same path Jordan Matthews (hamstring) and Malcolm Mitchell (knee) did earlier this summer. The 29-year-old was expected to be in the mix for a key role during Julian Edelman's four-game suspension to begin the season, but a hamstring injury has made it impossible for Britt to put forth his case. Phillip Dorsett seems to have a solid grasp on the starting job opposite Chris Hogan, at least until Edelman is reinstated.

Patriots' Kenny Britt: Falling behind in competition
Britt (hamstring) feels like he's fallen behind while missing practice this summer, Mark Daniels of The Providence Journal reports. "You never know with a hamstring. One day you feel good. Then something's in the air and [it's] popping," Britt said. "I definitely feel like I'm behind, because I'm not out there with the guys getting the chemistry that I need with the quarterbacks and just with everybody on the same page with what we do."
Britt reportedly made a strong impression in the early stages of the offseason program, but he hasn't logged a full practice (or played in a preseason game) since injuring his hamstring June 5. The 29-year-old still has some time to make his case for a Week 1 role, as the Patriots are badly in need of help at wide receiver with Julian Edelman suspended for the first four games of the season. Phillip Dorsett lined up with Edelman and Chris Hogan on the first-team offense during the team's first two preseason games.

Britt displayed some flashes in OTAs, but he's been slowed in training camp, stalling what could have turned into a modest hype train in the wake of the departure of both Jordan Matthews and Malcolm Mitchell. Look for Britt to make a push for a key role in the Patriots offense during the last two-plus weeks of the team's preparation in advance of regular-season action. Given that Julian Edelman is suspended for the first four weeks of the season, Chris Hogan is the only New England wideout locked into a starting job. Britt, if healthy, thus has a chance to make a mark out of the gate, though at this stage, the likes of Phillip Dorsett, Eric Decker and Cordarrelle Patterson are also jostling for slotting on the team's WR depth chart.

Britt has yet to practice fully this summer, which is less than optimal, considering some of the Patriots' other injury issues at wideout, as well as Julian Edelman's looming four-game suspension. We'd be surprised if Britt played in Thursday's preseason tilt against the Eagles, so look for the wideout to make his push for a key role in the offense during the last two weeks of the team's preparation in advance of Week 1 action.

Britt (hamstring) was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice, Ryan Hannable of WEEI.com reports.
Britt returned to practice Friday when he was removed from the PUP list, but the Patriots then held him out for most of Tuesday's session. While it now appears Britt's brief absence was just a precautionary measure, he'll likely be held out again for Thursday's preseason game against Washington. With Malcolm Mitchell (knee) and Jordan Matthews (hamstring) recently getting released, Britt is competing for snaps with Phillip Dorsett, Eric Decker, Cordarrelle Patterson, Braxton Berrios and Riley McCarron.

Britt returned to practice Friday and was removed from the PUP list, but his absence Tuesday suggests he still isn't back to 100 percent. While the competition at wide receiver thinned out a bit when the Patriots placed Jordan Matthews (hamstring) on injured reserve and released Malcolm Mitchell (knee), the signing of Eric Decker means Britt will still need to compete for a roster spot. With Julian Edelman suspended for the first four weeks of the season, Chris Hogan is the only New England wideout locked into a starting job.

Britt (hamstring) returned to the practice field Friday, NESN.com reports.
Though his presence Friday is a step in the right direction, Britt did not take part in team drills, indicating that he's still working his way back from the hamstring issue that caused him to sit out the Patriots' first seven training camp practices. With Julian Edelman set to serve a four-game suspension to start the season and Jordan Matthews (hamstring) on IR, there will be snaps to be had out of the gate alongside Chris Hogan. Britt's main competition on that front will come from Phillip Dorsett, newcomer Eric Decker and Malcolm Mitchell (knee) -- health-permitting.
