Apparently on the third day, the secondary shall rest. Six cornerbacks sat out Sunday's night practice, five of which sit atop the depth chart. Leon Hall earned a day of rest after two days testing his Achilles. Adam Jones (calf) and Terence Newman (undisclosed) joined Hall on the sidelines where Dre Kirkpatrick (knee) and Nate Clements (abdominal/groin) already on the active PUP. That left rookie safeties George Illoka and Tony Dye to pick up reps at cornerback with the reserve units. Rookie WR Marvin Jones toasted Illoka down the sideline for a deep reception during 11-on-11.

First sellout: The Bengals first downtown training camp in team history saw its first sell-out on Day 3. The Sunday evening practice exhausted the 1,600 available free tickets right at the 6 p.m. start time. The previous two practices finished with less than 100 tickets remaining. The team will practice twice more on the practice fields adjacent to the stadium this week before moving into Paul Brown Stadium for practices Thursday, Saturday and Sunday where no ticket limit exists.

Punt and kick return candidates set: Two critical jobs that will decide who stays and goes at the back end of the roster will be the open punt and kick return job. On Saturday, the first kick return session of the camp involved RB Bernard Scott, WR Marvin Jones, WR Andrew Hawkins, WR Taevon Rogers and RB Cedric Peerman. Sunday's punt returners were Hawkins and Moore, though, top candidates Adam Jones and last year's primary punt and kicker returner Brandon Tate were both sidelined with injuries.
