McCoy was fantastic in Saturday's regular-season finale, snagging a double-double off the bench while also swatting a pair of shots. Although McCoy was an afterthought in early March, he has bounced back with five straight games of 27 or more minutes played. Over that stretch, he has averaged 17.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.

McCoy put together a strong showing Wednesday, scoring 20 points on 69 percent shooting from the field while making significant contributions in rebounds and assists. Although he likely received more action due to the blowout, Wednesday's contest marked McCoy's first appearance since March 2 and his first time crossing the 30-minute threshold since Feb. 15.

McCoy has not seen the court since March 2, which is an interesting development considering he was a key bench contributor for most of the regular season. In 21 appearances, McCoy has averaged 13.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists over 24.7 minutes.

However, he managed to produce sufficient outputs on the glass while also dishing out five assists. Prior to the contest, McCoy had scored in double figures in six of his last seven appearances.

Although McCoy benefitted from the absence of Scotty Pippen and Cole Swider, who are both up with the NBA Lakers, his incredible effort Saturday should earn him some extra looks going forward.

If he continues to produce at this level, he very well could earn himself more playing time in the near future.

McCoy was let go by the Lakers on Saturday, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports.
McCoy didn't see preseason action with the Lakers but has a strong chance at landing in the G League. In his seven Summer League appearances, he averaged 10.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 19.8 minutes.
