Hawkins finished with three points (1-3 FG, 1-2 3Pt) and one rebound over 15 minutes during Monday's 124-111 loss to the Suns. Since the All-Star break, the 21-year-old has averaged 3.7 points and 1.1 rebounds on 28.2 percent from the field. This is a serious decline from before the break, when Hawkins averaged 9.6 points and 2.7 rebounds in 20.1 minutes, nearly doubling his recent playing time. The Pelicans are fighting to stay out of the Play-In Tournament and with Jose Alvarado (oblique) anticipated to return soon, Hawkins is not expected to be a viable fantasy option nearing the end of the season.... Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Recalled from G League
The Pelicans recalled Hawkins from the G League's Birmingham Squadron on Wednesday. The Pelicans wanted Hawkins to get some reps with Birmingham to stay sharp, as he's had a limited role at the NBA level in his last several outings.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Can't find it Saturday
Hawkins contributed eight points (2-10 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds and one assist in 29 minutes during Saturday's 141-117 loss to Milwaukee. Hawkins' streak of games with multiple made threes extended to five following Saturday's loss. While he wasn't at his sharpest, Hawkins has still rained in 52.0 percent of 5.6 threes per game across his last nine contests, amounting to 2.9 made threes per night. Hawkins earning 29 minutes for a healthy Pelicans' rotation Saturday bodes well for his rest-of-season outlook, though his increased playing time was likely due to the blowout nature of the contest.... Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Back to bench
Hawkins will return to the bench for Monday's game versus Dallas. This is an expected move with the Pelicans getting CJ McCollum, Brandon Ingram, Zion Williamson and Trey Murphy back in action after they were rested Saturday against the Mavericks. Hawkins filled in admirably Saturday, logging 34 points (11-19 FG, 6-12 3Pt, 6-8 FT), five rebounds, four assists and two steals across 37 minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Steps up while stars sit
Hawkins produced 34 points (11-19 FG, 6-12 3Pt, 6-8 FT), five rebounds, four assists and two steals in 37 minutes during Saturday's 118-108 win over the Mavericks. With CJ McCollum (ankle), Brandon Ingram (Achilles), Trey Murphy (knee) and Zion Williamson (rest) all sitting out, Hawkins stepped into the rotation and dazzled while absorbing a team-high 31.5 percent usage rate. The rookie has showcased scoring ability before, hitting the 25-point threshold thrice prior, the most recent of which had come Nov. 25 against Utah. Despite the big scoring outing Saturday, Hawkins remains an unpolished defender, and his shortcomings on that end of the court could result in him dropping back out of the rotation if all of McCollum, Ingram and Murphy are back in action for Monday's rematch with Dallas.... Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Returns to NBA
The Pelicans recalled Hawkins from the G League's Birmingham Squadron on Sunday. In his lone G League appearance with Birmingham on Friday, Hawkins erupted for 32 points (10-25 FG, 5-13 3Pt, 4-4 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and one block across 37 minutes against the Indiana Mad Ants. Hawkins has averaged 10.7 points across 27 appearances for New Orleans this season, so he doesn't have much to prove at the G League level, although it's a conducive environment for firing up shots and acclimating to being a defensive focal point at the next level.... Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Scores six in win
Hawkins accumulated six points (2-5 FG, 2-3 3Pt) and two assists in 12 minutes during Thursday's 123-104 victory over the Cavaliers. Hawkins' playing time has fluctuated in recent matchups, but he saw double-digit minutes off the bench Thursday and drilled a pair of three-pointers. He's had limited production over his last six appearances, averaging 3.2 points in 10.0 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Posts 13 points from bench
Hawkins totaled 13 points (5-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt) and five rebounds in 25 minutes during Monday's 114-112 loss to the Jazz. Hawkins went back to the bench to make room for Zion Williamson, but with Hawkins putting up 25 points in Saturday's start, the team may be missing out on a valuable opportunity. Dyson Daniels isn't getting it done at the point, and although Hawkins played off-guard in college, the team would do well to give the first-round pick a crack at point guard before CJ McCollum (chest) returns. An eventual lineup of McCollum, Hawkins, Ingram and Williamson could be the future setup, so consider stashing Hawkins on your bench if he's available.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Goes off for 25 points Saturday
Hawkins chipped in 25 points (8-17 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 4-5 FT), six rebounds, three assists and one steal across 40 minutes during Saturday's 105-100 loss to the Jazz. During the second night of a back-to-back set, Hawkins moved into the starting lineup with Zion Williamson resting. The move obviously did wonders for Hawkins' confidence, as he scored 25 points, the most he has delivered in almost two weeks. Although his contributions have scaled back a little, he remains a must-roster player in most formats as long as points and threes are high on your list of priorities.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Back in bench role
Hawkins isn't in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Kings. Hawkins will retreat to the bench with Zion Williamson returning to the starting five. Hawkins has logged 33 and 26 minutes in his last two contests as a reserve, so he could be in store for a significant workload, especially with CJ McCollum (chest) remaining sidelined.... Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Brilliant as McCollum's fill-in
Hawkins totaled 31 points (10-19 FG, 7-14 3Pt, 4-5 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and one steal in 38 minutes during Monday's 134-116 loss to Denver. There were several potential suitors for CJ McCollum's (lung) production, but Hawkins drew the start and made the most of his opportunity. His team-high scoring total makes him an excellent streaming option, and he could be even more valuable if McCollum's timetable is similar to his previous lung injury, which kept him out of action for six weeks.... Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Joins starting lineup
Hawkins will start Monday's game against Golden State. Hawkins will join the lineup for his first career NBA start. The rookie posted nine points and four rebounds while sinking three triples in Saturday's win over the Knicks.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Doubles minutes in win
Hawkins ended with nine points (3-7 FG, 3-6 3Pt), four rebounds and one assist in 18 minutes during Saturday's 96-87 win over New York. Hawkins, who the Pelicans drafted with the 14th pick of the 2023 NBA Draft, was able to see extended playing time thanks to the team's large lead. Eight of his 18 minutes came in the fourth quarter. He managed to shoot 50 percent from three on the evening and helped the team keep their large lead despite the Knicks' best efforts.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Drains five threes against Hawks
Hawkins scored a team-high 17 points (5-14 FG, 5-11 3Pt, 2-3 Ft) while adding two rebounds and an assist in 23 minutes off the bench during Saturday's 110-105 preseason loss to the Hawks. The UConn product flashed the long-range shooting that made the Pelicans select him with the 14th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. Hawkins could have trouble carving out a big role in the New Orleans backcourt as a rookie with CJ McCollum, Brandon Ingram and Jose Alvarado (ankle) all set for significant action, but if he keeps delivering as a second-unit scoring threat, he'll earn consistent minutes.... Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Struggles from field
Hawkins produced seven points (1-12 FG, 1-6 3PT, 4-6 FT), six rebounds, two assists and two steals in 28 minutes of Tuesday's 82-73 Summer League victory over the Suns. Through three Summer League appearances, Hawkins has shot a combined 5-of-22 from three-point range. Hawkins was a career 37.6 percent shooter at Connecticut, so he's likely due for some improvement soon.... See More ... See Less

Jim Eichenhofer@Jim_Eichenhofer12H ago#Pelicans will hold exit interviews that wrap up 2023-24. It was a frustrating playoff ending after a regular season that was a step forward, tied for second-best record (49-33) in team history. Want to thank everyone who follows me here. This collection of players remains a joy

Jim Eichenhofer@Jim_Eichenhofer12H agoBrandon Ingram's postgame interview was probably the most introspective he's had in his five years here. Talked about how motivated the ending for #Pelicans and him individually will be for offseason. Said no one criticizing him for his play in series vs. OKC is as angry as he is

Oleh Kosel 🇺🇦@OlehKosel13H agoNew Orleans' 2023-24 season comes to a close as Pelicans fall 97-89 to Thunder. OKC sweeps the series. We conclude with a nightmare of a game #4 for Brandon Ingram, who finishes with 8 points on 2-14 shooting, and the Pels, once again, shooting frigidly from 3-point range (23.5%)

Andrew Lopez@_Andrew_Lopez13H agoFINAL: Thunder 97, Pelicans 89 Oklahoma City finishes off the sweep. Pelicans become the first team in eight years not to score at least 100 points during the playoffs (Cavs also doing this right now through 4 games vs. Magic). Thunder used an 18-2 run to take control in 4Q.

Oleh Kosel 🇺🇦@OlehKosel14H agoThe Pelicans led 80-75. It's now a 90-82 deficit, as the Thunder have gone on a 15-2 run. The lack of confidence on offense is glaring, and it begins with Brandon Ingram, who has seemingly stopped looking to score on his last few drives.
