  • Tigers' Riley Greene: Goes deep twice in loss

Greene went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Monday's 8-5 loss to the Astros.

Greene launched a solo home run in the fourth inning, then went deep again with a runner on in the eighth. It's the first multi-homer game of the season for the talented young outfielder, and he has three long balls in his last three games. Greene hit a total of three home runs in his previous 25 games before the recent hot streak.

  • Tigers' Riley Greene: Goes deep Saturday

Greene went 2-for-7 with a walk, a double, a home run and three RBI across both games of Saturday's doubleheader with the Orioles.

Greene had a productive day at the park, which included his fourth home run of the season in the nightcap. The young outfielder is still slumping a bit with a .233/.282/.398 slash line, which are all down from his 2024 numbers, when he finished the regular season with a career-best .827 OPS. Greene is plenty talented, however, and could get on a hot streak at any point.

  • Tigers' Riley Greene: Reaches three times in win

Greene went 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 7-3 win over the Royals.

On the heels of a five-game hitless streak, Greene has now gone 5-for-8 over his last two games. Overall, the young outfielder is batting .250 with a .709 OPS this season. He has the talent to push those numbers higher, as evidenced by the .262 average and .827 OPS he posted during the 2024 regular season. Greene also tallied a career-best 24 home runs and 74 RBI last year, giving him targets to shoot for in 2025.

  • Tigers' Riley Greene: Two RBI against Kansas City

Greene went 3-for-5 with two RBI in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Royals.

Greene logged just one hit and 18 strikeouts in his prior 32 at-bats, but he was more productive at the plate in Thursday's contest. All three of his hits resulted in singles, the first two of which drove in runs in the third and fifth innings, respectively. Greene has struggled as of late, but his performance in the series opener may be a sign of things to come for the Tigers and the 24-year-old outfielder.

  • Tigers' Riley Greene: Getting day off Monday

Greene is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Brewers.

Manager A.J. Hinch will exclude the left-handed-hitting Greene from the starting nine for just the second time all season while the Brewers send a lefty (Tyler Alexander) to the bump. With Greene on the bench, Detroit will roll out a starting outfield of Kerry Carpenter, Ryan Kreidler and Zach McKinstry from left to right.

  • Tigers' Riley Greene: Taking seat Sunday

Greene is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.

Greene started the first eight games of the season and has carried a hot bat with three homers and a 1.083 OPS in 36 plate appearances, but he'll receive a break for Sunday's series finale versus Chicago. Kerry Carpenter will receive a rare start against a lefty (Martin Perez) while Manuel Margot gets the nod in right field.

Greene went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run scored in Friday's 7-4 win against the White Sox.

Greene launched a 417-foot homer into the right-field seats in the sixth inning, clocking in at an exit velocity of 114.3 mph. The 24-year-old is off to a scorching start this season, batting .344 with seven extra-base hits through his first 32 plate appearances. The only blemish on his early stat line is a lopsided 0:10 BB:K.

  • Tigers' Riley Greene: Third straight game with RBI

Greene went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to Seattle.

Greene extended his RBI streak to three games Wednesday when his groundout to third base in the fifth inning brought Ryan Kreidler home. Greene now has a .926 OPS through six games, with the RBI streak boosting his numbers after a 3-for-14 start to the campaign.

  • Tigers' Riley Greene: Will focus mostly on OF corners

Tigers president of baseball operations Scott Harris indicated Monday that Greene is likely to remain primarily a corner outfielder, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

The Tigers have lost three center fielders to injury in Matt Vierling (shoulder), Parker Meadows (arm) and Wenceel Perez (back). Greene has extensive experience in center field and has played there some this spring, but it would appear the club still plans to play him mostly in left field. Ryan Kreidler could be the favorite to handle reps in center field for Detroit for the time being.

  • Tigers' Riley Greene: Could see more time in center

Greene is an option to see more playing in center field for Detroit with the Tigers dealing with injuries to Parker Meadows (arm) and Matt Vierling (shoulder), Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Greene primarily played in center during his first two MLB campaigns but shifted mostly to left in 2024. With Meadows questionable for Opening Day and Vierling already ruled out, Greene may be needed to slide back over, particularly with Wenceel Perez (back) also banged up. No matter where he plays, Greene figures to be one of Detroit's top offensive threats and a strong fantasy contributor.

  • Tigers' Riley Greene: Connects for first spring home run

Greene went 2-for-2 with a walk and a two-run home run in Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the Orioles.

Making his first appearance of the spring, Greene wasted no time in delivering his first home run as well. The 24-year-old outfielder set career highs across the board last season and seems primed for another step forward in 2025. Greene should be a dependable fantasy asset with a fairly stable floor, and he offers plenty of upside as well, making him an attractive target in drafts.

  • Tigers' Riley Greene: Hoping to increase workload in 2025

Greene has focused on a better diet and exercising in the offseason, and the outfielder hopes to see more playing time this season as a result of improved health, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Greene was fairly durable in 2024, as he set a new career high by playing in 137 games. However, the 24-year-old outfielder thinks he's capable of more, and he's implemented a new offseason routine to help improve his body. If Greene can play in 150 games or more, he has a good chance of improving upon his 2024 numbers which included 24 home runs and 74 RBI to go along with a strong .827 OPS.
