Megill did not factor into the decision Friday, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk over six innings against the Phillies. He struck out six.
Megill was cruising through five scoreless innings before running out of steam in the sixth, and his potential scoreless outing was undone by a J.T. Realmuto three-run homer. The 28-year-old righty has struggled to the tune of a 4.92 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 98:56 K:BB over 119 innings this season. Megill, who has gone at least five innings in five straight starts but has just one win in that span to show for it, is currently scheduled to make his last start of the year against the Phillies at home.

Mets' Tylor Megill: Stuck with tough loss Saturday
Megill (8-8) took the loss Saturday as the Mets fell 3-2 to the Reds, giving up three runs (two earned) on nine hits and two walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out two.
The right-hander came one out short of his fifth quality start of the season, tossing 56 of 97 pitches for strikes in a solid effort, but New York wasn't able to supply Megill with much run support. He's allowed three runs or less in six straight starts with a 3.13 ERA, but his 1.55 WHIP and 28:15 K:BB through 31.2 innings over that stretch suggest he still has some work to do to lock down a rotation spot for 2024. Megill's next outing lines up for a road series next weekend in Philadelphia.

Megill allowed two hits and four walks over five shutout innings in Sunday's win over the Twins. He struck out two and did not factor in the decision.
Megill faced some issues with his command but was able to work around a couple of threats to turn in five clean frames. He was locked into a duel with Minnesota's Pablo Lopez, and the Mets weren't able to break the scoreless tie until the ninth inning. Megill has allowed three or fewer runs in five straight outings, posting a 3.12 ERA during that span and lowering his season mark to 5.03. His next start is currently projected to be at home against the Reds.

Overall, Megill sports a 5.29 ERA with a 1.68 WHIP and 82:47 K:BB across 20 starts (97 innings) this season. Megill (7-7) took the loss Tuesday as the Mets fell 3-2 to Atlanta, giving up three runs on eight hits and two walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out five.
The right-hander limited the damage despite being in constant trouble, as Atlanta had at least one runner in scoring position in every inning Megill worked -- something exacerbated by the four wild pitches he was charged with. Since rejoining the rotation in August, he's stumbled to a 6.86 ERA, 1.93 WHIP and 16:7 K:BB through 19.2 innings, but the Mets don't have many other options. His next turn comes around early next week for a home start against the Rangers.

Mets' Tylor Megill: Nabs seventh win
Megill (7-6) earned the win Wednesday, allowing two runs on five hits and four walks over five innings against the Pirates. He struck out five.
Megill allowed the leadoff man to reach base in each of the first three innings, with the latter coming home to score on a Bryan Reynolds home run. However, the right-hander was still able to get through five innings of work despite also matching his season high with four walks. It marked Megill's first win since June 16 against the Cardinals, though he still holds a 7.20 ERA through three August starts, along with a 11:5 K:BB.
