  • Phillies' Ryan Burr: Makes season debut

Burr (shoulder) struck out two and worked around two hits to turn in a scoreless inning of relief Saturday in Triple-A Lehigh Valley's 5-4 win over Rochester. Burr was credited with a hold in his season debut for Lehigh Valley, where he was reassigned coming out of spring training when he failed to win a spot in the Phillies' Opening Day bullpen. The right-hander battled tightness in his right shoulder in March, but he made enough progress in his recovery to avoid a season-opening stint on Lehigh Valley's injured list.

  • Phillies' Ryan Burr: Exits outing with tight shoulder

Burr was removed from Thursday's appearance versus the Rays with tightness in the back of his right shoulder, Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. Burr induced a groundout and a strikeout but then allowed a single to the third batter he faced before being lifted. The right-handed reliever will likely have tests done on the shoulder. Burr is in camp with the Phillies as a non-roster invitee.

Burr (shoulder) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Friday. Burr missed the first three weeks of the regular season with a right shoulder strain, but he recently made a pair of rehab appearances at Triple-A Charlotte and allowed two hits and a walk while striking out two in 1.2 scoreless innings. The right-hander should serve mainly as a low-leverage reliever for the White Sox now that he's back to full health.

  • White Sox's Ryan Burr: Back with big club

The White Sox recalled Burr from Triple-A Charlotte on Monday. Burr will be up with the White Sox for the second time this season after churning out a 2.95 ERA and 1.08 WHIP in 19 relief appearances during a two-month stint with the big club earlier in 2021. • White Sox's Ryan Burr: Picks up shaky win

Burr (2-0) allowed two runs on three hits while striking out one but got the win over the Twins on Tuesday. Burr entered in the eighth inning with the White Sox clinging to a one-run lead, and he allowed that to vanish after facing just two batters. He surrendered a leadoff single before Jorge Polanco took him deep to right to give the Twins their first lead of the game. Fortunately for him, the White Sox rallied off five runs in the bottom half of the frame to put him in line for the win. The 27-year-old has been excellent for most of the season, as this was just his second outing in which he's given up a run. He now owns a 1.96 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 16:8 K:BB over 18.1 innings.

  • White Sox's Ryan Burr: Earns first win

Burr (1-0) struck out a batter in a perfect 10th inning, earning the win in Wednesday's 8-7 victory over the Rays. A reliever may need to be sent down once Michael Kopech (hamstring) is ready to be activated, but Burr has certainly made a case to stay with the big-league club.

Burr is dealing with mild right shoulder soreness but should throw off a mound later this week, James Fegan of The Athletic reports. While Burr should be able to throw again soon, it's unclear when exactly he'll be ready for game action. He's not on the 40-man roster, so he's unlikely to pitch in a big-league game anytime soon even if healthy.

White Sox manager Tony La Russa said Sunday that Burr is receiving evaluation for an arm injury, James Fegan of The Athletic reports. The exact nature and extent of Burr's injury remains unknown, but the health setback likely takes the non-roster invitee out of the running for a spot in Chicago's Opening Day bullpen.
