Neto went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run and a double in Tuesday's 10-5 loss at Minnesota.
The Angels shortstop collected the game's first hit when he laced his 31st double of the season in the first inning. Neto later launched a 428-foot, three-run blast off starter Pablo Lopez to pull Los Angeles within two runs. The 23-year-old has rounded into a fantasy star in the second half, hitting .272 (46-for-169) with nine homers, nine doubles, 15 steals, 29 runs scored and 28 RBI across 48 games. Overall, Neto is now slashing .258/.328/.455 with 21 homers, 29 steals, 66 runs scored and 70 RBI in 543 plate appearances.

Angels' Zach Neto: Nabs two thefts in loss
Neto went 0-for-2 with a walk, two runs and two stolen bases in a loss to Texas on Saturday.
Neto didn't log any hits, but he still made an impact. The shortstop was hit by a pitch, stole second and scored in the first inning and added a walk, another steal and another run in the sixth. Neto is up to 29 stolen bases on the campaign -- with one more he can become the sixth MLB player with at least 20 home runs and 30 thefts so far this season.

Neto manufactured the Angels' second run after getting plunked in the first inning, as he stole second and third before scoring on a Nolan Schanuel sacrifice fly. Consistency has eluded Neto in August -- he's hitting .240 (24-for-100) with seven home runs, 19 RBI and six steals over 26 contests this month. Overall, the second-year shortstop has a well-rounded .252/.317/.450 slash line with 20 home runs, 25 steals, 66 RBI, 59 runs scored and 28 doubles across 131 games.

Neto took Keider Montero deep in the fifth inning for this 20th homer this season. Neto became the ninth player this season to eclipse 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases. The 23-year-old joined Jim Fregosi, who hit 22 homers in 1970, as the only Angels shortstops with 20 home runs in a season in franchise history. Neto posted a .685 OPS as a rookie last season but has come on strong in his sophomore campaign with a .254/.318/.453 slash line through 130 games.

While the Angels' lineup isn't anything special, Neto should continue to provide well-rounded production out of the No. 2 spot in the order as he has since Luis Rengifo (wrist) exited the lineup Aug. 3.
