Rockies' Tommy Doyle: Summoned to majors
The Rockies recalled Doyle from Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports. Doyle was optioned to Albuquerque a week and a half ago, but he'll be eligible to rejoin the Rockies bullpen after Colorado placed reliever Tyler Kinley (elbow) on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. The Rockies optioned Doyle to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday. Doyle was brought up from Triple-A toward the end of July and has since surrendered five runs over 7.1 innings out of the bullpen. Doyle will join the players at the alternate site at Albuquerque once the season starts, so he is not guaranteed to pitch in the majors this season. The 2023 Braves' season-high was 15 strikeouts April 8, also vs. Padres pitchers. Braves now have their first consecutive home losses of 2024.
