Rodriguez was optioned to High-A Everett on Sunday. Rodriguez reported to spring training last week after being delayed by visa issues and will now shift over to minor-league camp. Rodriguez's contract was selected by the Mariners on Thursday. Rodriguez will be added to the 40-man roster to protect him from the upcoming Rule 5 draft.
