  • Angels' Adam Cimber: Overcomes tight hamstring

Cimber has been cleared for regular activity after coming down with left hamstring tightness last Thursday, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports. Cimber was down for a couple days but threw a live batting practice session Sunday without issue, and it sounds like his next time facing batters will be in a Cactus League game. The righty inked a one-year deal with the Angels back in December and is in line for middle-relief duty in 2024.

  • Angels' Adam Cimber: Inks one-year deal with Angels

Cimber (shoulder) signed a one-year, $1.65 million contract with the Angels on Wednesday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports. Cimber missed the second half of the 2023 season because of a shoulder strain and had an ugly 7.40 ERA in 20.2 innings when healthy, but he was a bullpen workhorse for the Marlins and Blue Jays between 2021-22 and could offer a much-needed boost to the relief corps in Anaheim if his health cooperates. The 33-year-old right-hander owns a career 3.49 ERA at the major-league level.

  • Adam Cimber: Cut loose by Toronto

Cimber (shoulder) was non-tendered by the Blue Jays on Friday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports. Cimber struggled to a 7.40 ERA and 12:7 K:BB over 20.2 innings in 2023 before suffering a season-ending shoulder strain in late June. The 33-year-old reliever is now a free agent.

  • Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Reinstated from 60-day IL

Cimber (shoulder) was activated from the 60-day injured list Monday. This is purely a procedural move for Toronto, as Cimber finished the 2023 campaign on the injured list while rehabbing from a shoulder strain. He should be at full strength for the start of spring training.

  • Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Begins rehab assignment

Cimber (shoulder) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday, Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic reports. Cimber didn't perform particularly well in his first rehab appearance, giving up a run on a pair of hits in his lone inning of work, but the Blue Jays will be happy to see him back on the mound after nearly a three-month absence due to a shoulder strain. The length of his absence likely means his rehab assignment won't be a short one.

The Blue Jays transferred Cimber (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list Wednesday. Cimber remains shut down nearly a month into an IL stint with a right shoulder impingement. He's now ineligible to return until late August.

  • Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Yet to resume throwing

Cimber (shoulder) has yet to resume throwing, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports. Cimber was placed on the injured list June 24 with a right shoulder impingement, which actually turned out to be a rhomboid strain. He could remain on the shelf through much or all of July.

  • Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Placed on injured list

The Blue Jays placed Cimber on the 15-day injured list Saturday with a right shoulder impingement. This will be Cimber's second stint on the injured list this season, as he previously spent nearly a month on the IL due to an upper-back strain. The 32-year-old righty holds a 7.40 ERA and 1.55 WHIP through 20.2 innings on the season -- heavily inflated by the nine runs he's allowed in 2.1 innings across his last three appearances. Bowden Francis was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move.

There is still no official return date in place for the 32-year-old reliever, but Blue Jays manager John Schneider previously expressed optimism that Cimber wouldn't have an extended stay on the IL.

  • Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Picks up rare save

Cimber struck out one and did not allow a baserunner in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save Thursday against the Royals. He took advantage of a rare save chance, as Jordan Romano was unavailable after pitching each of the last two days. Cimber had little trouble protecting a three-run lead, inducing two groundball outs before striking out MJ Melendez to end the game. Cimber has turned in four scoreless innings to begin the season, though he has walked two and also hit a batter.

  • Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Looks good Monday

Cimber tossed a scoreless seventh inning in Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Tigers. He didn't walk or strike out a batter. The groundball specialist hasn't seen much game action this spring, working 3.1 innings over four appearances, but Cimber looked ready for Opening Day on Monday and needed only 10 pitches (eight strikes) to retire the side. After recording career highs with four saves, 10 wins and 20 holds in 2022, the 32-year-old right-hander will serve in a high-leverage role once again with Toronto, but his lack of strikeouts limits his fantasy ceiling in some formats.

  • Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Records 10th win

Cimber (10-5) earned the win in Wednesday's 3-2 extra-inning victory over the Red Sox. He allowed one hit in a scoreless inning without recording a strikeout. Cimber had little trouble in the ninth inning, retiring the Red Sox on just eight pitches to send the game to extras. The Blue Jays would end up winning after George Springer hit a double to score Jackie Bradley in the 10th. Amazingly, the reliever now has 10 wins on the season to go along with four saves and 13 holds.

  • Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Snags another save Tuesday

Cimber pitched a perfect ninth inning on his way to a save in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the Mariners. Cimber was once again called on to finish Tuesday's win and he retired the Mariners in order for a 1-2-3 ninth inning and his second save in as many days. Jordan Romano (illness) is expected to return soon, but in the meantime, the 31-year-old Cimber has been holding down the final frame and is up to three saves on the year. He has now pitched 3.2 no-hit innings over his last four appearances, surrendering two walks while striking out three. Cimber's 2.20 ERA and 0.81 WHIP over 15.1 innings this season both represent career bests for the right-hander.
