Cimber (shoulder) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday, Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic reports. Cimber didn't perform particularly well in his first rehab appearance, giving up a run on a pair of hits in his lone inning of work, but the Blue Jays will be happy to see him back on the mound after nearly a three-month absence due to a shoulder strain. The length of his absence likely means his rehab assignment won't be a short one.... See More ... See Less

Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Shifts to 60-day IL
The Blue Jays transferred Cimber (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list Wednesday. Cimber remains shut down nearly a month into an IL stint with a right shoulder impingement. He's now ineligible to return until late August.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Yet to resume throwing
Cimber (shoulder) has yet to resume throwing, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports. Cimber was placed on the injured list June 24 with a right shoulder impingement, which actually turned out to be a rhomboid strain. He could remain on the shelf through much or all of July.... Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Placed on injured list
The Blue Jays placed Cimber on the 15-day injured list Saturday with a right shoulder impingement. This will be Cimber's second stint on the injured list this season, as he previously spent nearly a month on the IL due to an upper-back strain. The 32-year-old righty holds a 7.40 ERA and 1.55 WHIP through 20.2 innings on the season -- heavily inflated by the nine runs he's allowed in 2.1 innings across his last three appearances. Bowden Francis was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Back from paternity list
Cimber was reinstated from the paternity list Friday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports. Cimber will rejoin the team after he missed three days while with his expanding family. Right-hander Thomas Hatch was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Friday.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Placed on paternity list
The Blue Jays placed Cimber on the paternity list Tuesday. Cimber is allowed to be away from the team for three days while he spends time with his family. Bowden Francis was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo to replace Cimber in Toronto's bullpen.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Reinstated from IL
Cimber (back) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list Tuesday. A right rhomboid strain has held Cimber out since the end of April, but after throwing an extra bullpen session Monday, the 32-year-old righty will return to Toronto's bullpen. Cimber has allowed five earned runs through 10 innings this season, with three of them coming in his last two appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Activation decision Tuesday
A decision on whether to activate Cimber (back) could come as soon as Tuesday, MLB.com reports. Cimber had been slated to for activation Monday, but the Jays elected to have him throw another bullpen session that day before re-evaluating him. He's been out since late April with a right rhomboid strain.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Slated to return Monday
Cimber (back) is expected to be activated from the injured list Monday, Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic reports. Cimber rejoined the Blue Jays on Thursday after a couple rehab appearances, but the team will wait a few days before officially adding him back to the roster. He has posted a 4.50 ERA over 11 relief outings in 2023.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Activation imminent
Cimber (back) rejoined the Blue Jays in Toronto on Thursday and is likely to be activated from the injured list soon, Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic reports. Cimber has been on the shelf since April 24 with a rhomboid strain but is ready to roll now after a couple scoreless rehab appearances. He holds a 4.50 ERA over 11 relief outings with the big club this season.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Closing in on rehab assignment
Cimber (back) threw a bullpen session Tuesday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports. Assuming he bounces back well, Cimber could be ready for a rehab assignment. He's been out since late April with a back injury but doesn't seem too far removed from rejoining Toronto's bullpen.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Resumes throwing
Cimber (back) threw in the outfield before Friday's game against Seattle, Mike Wilner of the Toronto Star reports. This is the first time Cimber has thrown since landing on the injured list with an upper-back strain. There is still no official return date in place for the 32-year-old reliever, but Blue Jays manager John Schneider previously expressed optimism that Cimber wouldn't have an extended stay on the IL.... Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Picks up rare save
Cimber struck out one and did not allow a baserunner in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save Thursday against the Royals. He took advantage of a rare save chance, as Jordan Romano was unavailable after pitching each of the last two days. Cimber had little trouble protecting a three-run lead, inducing two groundball outs before striking out MJ Melendez to end the game. Cimber has turned in four scoreless innings to begin the season, though he has walked two and also hit a batter.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Looks good Monday
Cimber tossed a scoreless seventh inning in Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Tigers. He didn't walk or strike out a batter. The groundball specialist hasn't seen much game action this spring, working 3.1 innings over four appearances, but Cimber looked ready for Opening Day on Monday and needed only 10 pitches (eight strikes) to retire the side. After recording career highs with four saves, 10 wins and 20 holds in 2022, the 32-year-old right-hander will serve in a high-leverage role once again with Toronto, but his lack of strikeouts limits his fantasy ceiling in some formats.... Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Records 10th win
Cimber (10-5) earned the win in Wednesday's 3-2 extra-inning victory over the Red Sox. He allowed one hit in a scoreless inning without recording a strikeout. Cimber had little trouble in the ninth inning, retiring the Red Sox on just eight pitches to send the game to extras. The Blue Jays would end up winning after George Springer hit a double to score Jackie Bradley in the 10th. Amazingly, the reliever now has 10 wins on the season to go along with four saves and 13 holds.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Snags another save Tuesday
Cimber pitched a perfect ninth inning on his way to a save in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the Mariners. Cimber was once again called on to finish Tuesday's win and he retired the Mariners in order for a 1-2-3 ninth inning and his second save in as many days. Jordan Romano (illness) is expected to return soon, but in the meantime, the 31-year-old Cimber has been holding down the final frame and is up to three saves on the year. He has now pitched 3.2 no-hit innings over his last four appearances, surrendering two walks while striking out three. Cimber's 2.20 ERA and 0.81 WHIP over 15.1 innings this season both represent career bests for the right-hander.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Stuck with loss Sunday
Cimber (4-2) took the loss Sunday against the Guardians, recording only one out while giving up a run on two hits and a walk. Entering a 3-3 tie with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning, Cimber couldn't find that third out, issuing a free pass to Andres Gimenez in between sharp singles from Franmil Reyes and Oscar Mercado. The sidearmer hadn't pitched since Tuesday, but he might still be feeling the effects of a fairly heavy early-season workload that has included a lot of high-leverage spots. Cimber sports a 2.84 ERA and 0.87 WHIP with a save and five holds over 13 appearances and 12.2 innings.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Backs into win No. 4
Cimber (4-0) picked up the win but blew the save in Monday's victory over the Red Sox, giving up one hit without allowing a run in the eighth inning. While the sidearmer's own line in the box score was clean, he did allow two inherited runners to score, costing Jose Berrios the win as Cimber left the mound with the score tied 2-2. Bo Bichette's grand slam in the bottom of the frame then gave the right-hander another vultured win. Cimber's importance to the Blue Jays' bullpen is highlighted by the fact that he's recorded a win (four), save (one) or hold (three) in all eight of his appearances so far in 2022.... See More ... Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Picks up save
Cimber allowed one hit and struck out one across a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save Saturday against Houston. Jordan Romano had pitched both Thursday and Friday, leaving him unavailable for Saturday's game. Cimber stepped into the ninth inning role in Romano's absence and maintained a one-run lead to earn his first save of the season. He surrendered a leadoff single, but struck out the next batter he faced before inducing a double play to end the game. Cimber has been excellent early on in the campaign, maintaining a 2.25 ERA with a 6:0 K:BB while also picking up three holds across eight innings. While he may pick up saves at random points in the season, Cimber is not a candidate for the closer role so long as Romano remains healthy.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Vultures another win
Cimber (3-0) picked up the win in Friday's 4-1 victory over the A's, giving up one hit over 1.2 scoreless innings of relief while striking out three. Starter Ross Stripling only lasted four innings, and Cimber was judged to be the most effective of the Blue Jays' relievers even though he allowed an inherited runner to score after entering the game with two on and one out in the sixth inning. Cimber has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of the abbreviated spring training, but his opportunities to vulture wins in this fashion could dry up quickly over the next week or two. He owns a 1.69 ERA, 0.38 WHIP and 4:0 K:BB through 5.1 innings this season.... See More ... See Less
