If you love baseball, you love prospects. Or you learn to, anyway.

They're your eternal source of hope. No matter how far down the pipeline they are or how rarely they meet expectations, they fuel the fire of anticipation, which you could argue is the source of all joy in life. But then we'd be taking a weird philosophical turn.

For baseball fans who happen to play Fantasy Baseball, it's not always so clear which prospects should matter to them, which is the inspiration for this list. It's not always so clear who qualifies for such a list either, but basically, anyone who retains rookie eligibility -- so fewer than 130 at-bats or 50 innings in the majors -- is a prospect for our purposes. These aren't necessarily the 100 "best" of those players, but they're the 100 who I believe Fantasy owners should be aware of.

Which isn't to say they all have an equal chance of contributing in 2016 -- or any chance, in some cases. Proximity does have a major influence on the order, but ultimately, a list of prospects is of the most use to a long-term keeper owner, who may be just as focused on a year or three down the road.

For those focused strictly on 2016, though, I've assigned each prospect a number which corresponds to the following scale:

10 - opening day lock
9 - pencil him in
8 - fighting this spring
7 - sooner than later
6 - midseason hopeful
5 - second-half reinforcement
4 - September call-up
3 - if he moves fast
2 - only in an emergency
1 - not a chance

It stands to reason, then, that a high-ranking player with a three or lower has an especially high ceiling and is worth monitoring even if you don't have an immediate use for him while a low-ranking player with a seven or higher may lack the ability to capitalize on the opportunity in front of him.

The best of both worlds, then, would be a high-ranking player with a seven or higher. Let's kick it off with one of those, shall we?

1. Corey Seager, SS, Dodgers

Bats: Left | Throws: Right
Age: 21 (4/27/94)
Where played in 2015: Double-A, Triple-A, majors
Minors stats: .293 BA, 18 HR, 37 2B, .831 OPS, 37 BB, 76 K
MLB stats: .337 BA (98 at-bats), 4 HR, .986 OPS, 14 BB, 19 K
Now that we know he'll stick at shortstop for the time being and have seen what he can do against major-league pitching, Seager is already in the early-round discussion.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 10

2. Steven Matz, SP, Mets

Bats: Right | Throws: Left
Age: 24 (5/29/91)
Where played in 2015: high Class A, Double-A, Triple-A, majors
Minors stats: 8-4, 2.05 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, 107 K, 105 1/3 IP
Majors stats: 4-0, 2.27 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, 34 K, 35 2/3 IP
The next of the Mets' young pitchers destined for acedom, Matz only still qualifies for this list because he missed two months last year with a torn lat.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 10

3. Byron Buxton, OF, Twins

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 22 (12/18/93)
Where played in 2015: Double-A, Triple-A, majors
Minors stats: .305 BA (292 at-bats), 7 HR, 22 SB, .867 OPS, 30 BB, 63 K
Majors stats: .209 BA (129 at-bats), 2 HR, 2 SB, .576 OPS, 6 BB, 44 K
Buxton had a bumpy transition to the majors last year and could probably use more developmental time because of injuries, but he wasn't most publications' No. 1 prospect back-to-back years for nothing.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 9

4. Lucas Giolito, SP, Nationals

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 21 (7/14/94)
Where played in 2015: high Class A, Double-A
Minors stats: 7-7, 3.15 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, 131 K, 117 IP
Giolito probably would have been the first overall pick in the 2012 draft had he not needed Tommy John surgery, and he has cruised through the minors since recovering in 2013.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 5

5. Julio Urias, SP, Dodgers

Bats: Left | Throws: Left
Age: 19 (8/12/96)
Where played in 2015: high Class A, Double-A, Triple-A
Minors stats: 3-5, 3.81 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, 88 K, 80 1/3 IP
Surgery to repair a defective eyelid interrupted his 2015, causing a blip in his numbers, but Urias still could be the first starting pitcher to debut at age 19 since Felix Hernandez.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 5

6. Tyler Glasnow, SP, Pirates

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 22 (8/23/93)
Where played in 2015: short-season Class A, Double-A, Triple-A
Minors stats: 7-5, 2.39 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, 136 K, 109 1/3 IP
Tyler Glasnow has the Randy Johnson effect going for him: His long frame makes his high-90s fastball appear even faster, and his strikeout and hit rates reflect it.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 7

7. Joey Gallo, OF, Rangers

Bats: Left | Throws: Right
Age: 22 (11/19/93)
Where played in 2015: Double-A, Triple-A, majors
Minors stats: .240 BA (321 at-bats), 23 HR, .862 OPS, 51 BB, 139 K
Majors stats: .204 BA (108 at-bats), 6 HR, .717 OPS, 15 BB, 57 K
True to form, strikeouts and home runs defined Gallo's trial in the majors last year, and to get back, he'll need to show more of the latter at Triple-A.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 7

8. Dansby Swanson, SS, Braves

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 21 (2/11/94)
Where played in 2015: short-season Class A
Minors stats: .289 BA (83 at-bats), 1 HR, .876 OPS, 14 BB, 14 K
The first pick in last year's draft earns high marks for polish and makeup, which should mean he moves quickly, but he doesn't project to have as much power as Seager.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 5

9. J.P. Crawford, SS, Phillies

Bats: Left | Throws: Right
Age: 21 (1/11/95)
Where played in 2015: high Class A, Double-A
Minors stats: .288 BA, 6 HR, 22 2B, 12 SB, .793 OPS, 63 BB, 54 K
Crawford, like Swanson, profiles as a big-time Fantasy contributor even if he doesn't develop 20-homer power, in this case elevated by exceptional plate discipline.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 4

10. Jose Berrios, SP, Twins

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 21 (5/27/94)
Where played in 2015: Double-A, Triple-A
Minors stats: 14-5, 2.87 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, 175 K, 166 1/3 IP
Berrios nearly got the call for the playoff push last year and looks like a rare (for the Twins, anyway) homegrown pitcher with legitimate swing-and-miss stuff.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 7

11. Yoan Moncada, 2B, Red Sox

Bats: Both | Throws: Right
Age: 20 (5/27/95)
Where played in 2015: low Class A
Minors stats: .278 BA (306 at-bats), 8 HR, 49 SB, .817 OPS, 42 BB, 83 K
A slow start nearly derailed the hype train, but the toolsy Cuban defector shook off the rust to hit .310 with a .915 OPS over his final 216 at-bats.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 3

12. Brendan Rodgers, SS, Rockies

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 19 (8/9/96)
Where played in 2015: Rookie
Minors stats: .273 BA (143 at-bats), 3 HR, 4 SB, .759 OPS, 15 BB, 37 K
The third overall pick last year is still a ways off, but the hope is he becomes a force along the lines of a Troy Tulowitzki, which is all the more plausible when you consider where he'll be playing his home games.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 1

13. Alex Reyes, SP, Cardinals

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 21 (8/29/94)
Where played in 2015: Rookie, high Class A, Double-A
Minors stats: 5-7, 2.49 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, 151 K, 101 1/3 IP
A 50-game suspension for marijuana lengthens the odds of Reyes reaching the majors this year, but better not to rush the pitcher who should overtake Michael Wacha and Carlos Martinez as a true No. 1.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 4

14. A.J. Reed, 1B, Astros

Bats: Left | Throws: Left
Age: 22 (5/10/93)
Where played in 2015: high Class A, Double-A
Minors stats: .340 BA, 34 HR, 127 RBI, 1.044 OPS, 86 BB, 122 K
The most impressive part about those numbers is that Reed sustained them even after leaving the arcade-like California League, which is what won me over to Paul Goldschmidt back when he was considered a second-rate prospect.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 7

15. Bradley Zimmer, OF, Indians

Bats: Left | Throws: Right
Age: 23 (11/27/92)
Where played in 2015: high Class A, Double-A
Minors stats: .273 BA, 16 HR, 44 SB, .814 OPS, 55 BB, 131 K
Zimmer slowed a bit after his promotion to Double-A, but his power-speed combo could give the Indians what they once had in Grady Sizemore -- you know, back when he was good.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 5

16. Orlando Arcia, SS, Brewers

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 21 (8/4/94)
Where played in 2015: Double-A
Minors stats: .307 BA, 8 HR, 37 2B, 25 SB, .800 OPS, 30 BB, 73 K
Arcia has emerged as an elite prospect largely because of the defense and will never be a big-time power hitter, but anyone who underestimated Francisco Lindor's Fantasy potential would be wise not to do the same here.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 5

17. Kenta Maeda, SP, Dodgers

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 27 (4/11/88)
Where played in 2015: Japan
NPB stats: 15-8, 2.09 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, 175 K, 206 1/3 IP
Maeda doesn't have the pure stuff of a Yu Darvish or Masahiro Tanaka, but he won the Japanese equivalent of the Cy Young award twice, including last year, and has the kind of control that could make him a younger (read: healthier) version of Hisashi Iwakuma.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 10

18. Byung Ho Park, 1B, Twins

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 29 (7/10/86)
Where played in 2015: Korea
KBO stats: .343 BA, 53 HR, 146 RBI, 1.150 OPS, 78 BB, 161 K
Jung Ho Kang's performance last year gives us some idea what to expect from Park, who hit more home runs in the Korean Baseball Organization but also struck out far more often.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 10

19. Trea Turner, 2B, Nationals

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 22 (6/30/93)
Where played in 2015: Double-A, Triple-A, majors
Minors stats: .322 BA, 8 HR, 29 SB, .828 OPS, 38 BB, 97 K
Majors stats: .225 BA (40 at-bats), 1 HR, 2 SB, .620 OPS, 4 BB, 12 K
Turner is like Arcia offensively and even closer to reaching the big leagues, needing only to unseat Danny Espinosa as the replacement for Ian Desmond, which makes him a deep sleeper for 2016.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 7

20. Jose De Leon, SP, Dodgers

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 23 (8/7/92)
Where played in 2015: high Class A, Double-A
Minors stats: 6-7, 2.99 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, 163 K, 114 1/3 IP
One of the biggest risers over the last couple years, De Leon was a little homer-prone at Double-A after dominating the homer-happy California League, but that strikeout rate speaks for itself.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 6

21. Blake Snell, SP, Rays

Bats: Left | Throws: Left
Age: 23 (12/4/92)
Where played in 2015: high Class A, Double-A, Triple-A
Minors stats: 15-4, 1.41 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, 163 K, 134 IP
Snell's control issues seem like small potatoes after he went an astonishing eight starts before allowing a run last year, giving him the lowest ERA for a qualifying minor-league pitcher since Justin Verlander in 2005.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 6

22. David Dahl, OF, Rockies

Bats: Left | Throws: Right
Age: 21 (4/1/94)
Where played in 2015: short-season Class A, Double-A
Minors stats: .266 BA (312 at-bats), 6 HR, 22 SB, .688, 11 BB, 81 K
Dahl, who had his spleen removed after an outfield collision midway through last season, has had trouble staying on the field, but you have to love the five-category potential for a player who'll make his home at Coors Field.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 5

23. Jesse Winker, OF, Reds

Bats: Left | Throws: Left
Age: 22 (8/17/93)
Where played in 2015: Double-A
Minors stats: .282 BA, 13 HR, .390 OBP, .823 OPS, 74 BB, 83 K
As much as he walks, Winker should team with Joey Votto to give the Reds a middle of the order that'll drive pitchers crazy, perhaps as soon as this year after compiling a .941 OPS in his final 225 at-bats at Double-A.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 6

24. Hector Olivera, 3B, Braves

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 30 (4/5/85)
Where played in 2015: Rookie, low Class A, Double-A, Triple-A, majors
Minors stats: .272 BA (125 at-bats), 2 HR, .702 OPS, 9 BB, 15 K
Majors stats: .253 BA (79 at-bats), 2 HR, .715 OPS, 5 BB, 12 K
Between elbow and hamstring injuries, Olivera never got a chance to shake off the rust in his first year in the States, but the Braves gave up a haul for what they perceive to be a middle-of-the-order bat.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 10

25. Jon Gray, SP, Rockies

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 24 (11/5/91)
Where played in 2015: Triple-A, majors
Minors stats: 6-6, 4.33 ERA, 1.49 WHIP, 110 K, 114 1/3 IP
Majors stats: 0-2, 5.53 ERA, 1.62 WHIP, 40 K, 40 2/3 IP
A transcendent talent with the misfortune of pitching half his games at Coors Field, Gray's home-away split last year -- when his pitch counts were heavily monitored, by the way -- pretty much tells the story.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 9

26. Robert Stephenson, SP, Reds

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 22 (2/24/93)
Where played in 2015: Double-A, Triple-A
Minors stats: 8-11, 3.83 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, 140 K, 134 IP
Control remains an issue for Stephenson, but now that the potential ace has graduated to Triple-A, it's only a matter time before the rebuilding Reds get him initiated.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 6

27. Sean Newcomb, SP, Braves

Bats: Left | Throws: Left
Age: 22 (6/12/93)
Where played in 2015: low Class A, high Class A, Double-A
Minors stats: 9-3, 2.38 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, 168 K, 136 IP
The Braves gave up a cost-controlled Andrelton Simmons for Newcomb, whose strikeout rate tells you everything you need to know about his potential, but a walk rate of 5.0 per nine innings is no small issue.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 6

28. Brett Phillips, OF, Brewers

Bats: Left | Throws: Right
Age: 21 (5/30/94)
Where played in 2015: high Class A, Double-A
Minors stats: .309 BA, 16 HR, 14 3B, 17 SB, .901 OPS, 44 BB, 120 K
Phillips had emerged as the Astros' top prospect at the time of the Carlos Gomez trade but struggled after leaving the hitter-friendly California League, which calls his power potential into question.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 5

29. Tim Anderson, SS, White Sox

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 22 (6/23/93)
Where played in 2015: Double-A
Minors stats: .312 BA, 5 HR, 12 3B, 49 SB, .779 OPS, 24 BB, 114 K
A lack of plate discipline may ultimately be Anderson's undoing, but he offers a rare power-speed combo for a shortstop and has no one standing in his way this year.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 7

30. Aaron Judge, OF, Yankees

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 23 (4/26/92)
Where played in 2015: Double-A, Triple-A
Minors stats: .255 BA, 20 HR, .777 OPS, 53 BB, 144 K
Judge had a bumpy transition to Triple-A, leaving him with a home run total that undersells just how much power potential his hulking 6-foot-7 frame offers.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 6

31. Hunter Renfroe, OF, Padres

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 24 (1/28/92)
Where played in 2015: Double-A, Triple-A
Minors stats: .272 BA, 20 HR, .783 OPS, 37 BB, 132 K
Renfroe has a stubborn streak that has stalled his development, but the gifted slugger became more receptive after a slow start last year and should eventually inherit the departed Justin Upton's job.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 6

32. Franklin Barreto, SS, Athletics

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 19 (2/27/96)
Where played in 2015: high Class A
Minors stats: .302 BA (338 at-bats), 13 HR, .833 OPS, 15 BB, 67 K
The Athletics may get the last laugh in the Josh Donaldson trade when Barreto arrives, but the second coming of Miguel Tejada is still at least a couple years away.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 2

33. Jose Peraza, 2B, Reds

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 21 (4/30/94)
Where played in 2015: Triple-A, majors
Minors stats: .293 BA, 4 HR, 33 SB, .378 SLG, .694 OPS, 17 BB, 45 K
Majors stats: .182 BA (22 at-bats), 1 2B, 1 3B, 3 SB, .568 OPS, 2 BB, 2 K
Now with his third organization since the start of 2015, Peraza doesn't walk enough for a player with zero power potential, but his high contact rate and plus speed should still make him a Fantasy asset if and when the Reds figure out a way to unload Brandon Phillips.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 8

34. Gary Sanchez, C, Yankees

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 23 (12/2/92)
Where played in 2015: Double-A, Triple-A, majors
Minors stats: .274 BA (365 at-bats), 18 HR, .815 OPS, 29 BB, 78 K
Majors stats: 0 for 2, 1 K
Sanchez's big showing in the Arizona Fall League already has some fans thinking DH for Brian McCann, but defense is still an issue for the power-hitting catcher.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 6

35. Clint Frazier, OF, Indians

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 21 (9/6/94)
Where played in 2015: high Class A
Minors stats: .285 BA, 16 HR, 36 2B, 15 SB, .842 OPS, 68 BB, 125 K
The fifth overall pick in the 2013 draft looked like he might go the way of Bubba Starling until he regrouped to hit .335 with 11 home runs and a .988 OPS over his final 245 at-bats, putting him back on an elite trajectory.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 3

36. Austin Meadows, OF, Pirates

Bats: Left | Throws: Left
Age: 20 (5/3/95)
Where played in 2015: high Class A, Double-A
Minors stats: .310 BA, 7 HR, 21 SB, .781 OPS, 43 BB, 84 K
Though he used to draw comparisons to Jay Bruce, Meadows still has yet to demonstrate that kind of home run power, but if he settles into being another Alex Gordon type, that's not so bad.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 4

37. Jorge Mateo, SS, Yankees

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 20 (6/23/95)
Where played in 2015: low Class A, high Class A
Minors stats: .278 BA, 2 HR, 82 SB, .737 OPS, 43 BB, 98 K
Though the raw numbers might have you thinking Billy Hamilton all over again, Mateo is projected to develop power before all's said and done, which would make him a transcendent talent at shortstop.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 2

38. Sean Manaea, SP, Athletics

Bats: Left | Throws: Left
Age: 23 (2/1/92)
Where played in 2015: Rookie, high Class A, Double-A
Minors stats: 7-1, 2.66 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, 90 K, 74 1/3 IP
The key return in the Ben Zobrist trade, Manaea is a little behind in terms of innings buildup after having surgery to repair a torn labrum in his hip, but he has top-of-the-rotation strikeout potential.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 5

39. Ryan McMahon, 3B, Rockies

Bats: Left | Throws: Right
Age: 21 (12/14/94)
Where played in 2015: high Class A
Minors stats: .300 BA, 18 HR, 43 2B, .892 OPS, 49 BB, 153 K
Strikeouts are an obvious concern, but McMahon looks like the most naturally talented hitter to come through the Rockies system since Nolan Arenado -- and has the built-in advantage of, you know, coming through the Rockies system.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 3

40. Andrew Benintendi, OF, Red Sox

Bats: Left | Throws: Left
Age: 21 (7/6/94)
Where played in 2015: short-season Class A, low Class A
Minors stats: .313 BA (198 at-bats), 11 HR, 10 SB, .972 OPS, 35 BB, 24 K
The Baseball America College Player of the Year in 2015 continued to make a name for himself in the pros and looks like he could be another Andrew McCutchen-type player.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 2

41. Michael Fulmer, SP, Tigers

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 22 (3/15/93)
Where played in 2015: high Class A, Double-A
Minors stats: 10-3, 2.24 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, 125 K, 124 2/3 IP
It'll take some special pitching by Fulmer to make the Mets regret all that Yoenis Cespedes has given them, but with a 97-mph fastball and plus command, the 22-year-old might just deliver.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 6

42. Alex Bregman, SS, Astros

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 21 (3/30/94)
Where played in 2015: low Class A, high Class A
Minors stats: .294 BA (272 at-bats), 4 HR, 13 SB, .781 OPS, 29 BB, 30 K
Bregman drew comparisons to Dustin Pedroia when the Astros drafted him second overall, but he earned rave reviews for his defense in his first year as a pro, which suggests he may be able to stick at shortstop.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 4

43. Rafael Devers, 3B, Red Sox

Bats: Left | Throws: Right
Age: 19 (10/24/96)
Where played in 2015: Triple-A, majors
Minors stats: .288 BA, 11 HR, 38 2B, .773 OPS, 24 BB, 84 K
Devers is still developing into the hitter scouts project him to be, but when he's strong enough to hit more of those doubles over the fence, his bat-on-ball skills should make him the kind of prospect who gets everybody talking.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 1

44. Jorge Lopez, SP, Brewers

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 22 (2/10/93)
Where played in 2015: Double-A, majors
Minors stats: 12-5, 2.26 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, 137 K, 143 1/3 IP
Majors stats: 1-1, 5.40 ERA, 1.90 WHIP, 10 K, 10 IP
A long-term project for the Brewers finally began to pay dividends as Lopez's fastball-curveball combo led to the kind of numbers that would have you believe he'll be their ace before too long.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 6

45. Cody Reed, SP, Reds

Bats: Left | Throws: Left
Age: 22 (4/15/93)
Where played in 2015: high Class A, Double-A
Minors stats: 13-9, 2.41 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, 144 K, 145 2/3 IP
The biggest piece in the Reds' haul for Johnny Cueto broke out last season with a wipeout slider and should join Robert Stephenson in reducing Raisel Iglesias to No. 3 status a couple years from now.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 5

46. Gleyber Torres, SS, Cubs

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 19 (12/13/96)
Where played in 2015: low Class A, high Class A
Minors stats: .287 BA, 3 HR, 22 SB, .722 OPS, 44 BB, 115 K
You may not be able to tell from his numbers, but Torres surged up the prospect rankings last season, winning over scouts with his aptitude and attitude, and looks like he could move into the top 10 on this list a couple years from now.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 1

47. Jameson Taillon, SP, Pirates

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 24 (11/18/91)
Where played in 2015: Did not play -- injured
Taillon has worn the "did not play -- injured" tag two years in a row now, but the man drafted right after Bryce Harper in 2010 was on the verge of a promotion before needing Tommy John surgery in 2014.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 5

48. Aaron Blair, SP, Braves

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 23 (5/26/92)
Where played in 2015: Double-A, Triple-A
Minors stats: 13-5, 2.92 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, 120 K, 160 1/3 IP
Snubbed a September call-up last year, Blair has already mastered the heavy-hitting Pacific Coast League, but a falling strikeout rate may limit him to being a middle-of-the-rotation innings eater.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 7

49. Archie Bradley, SP, Diamondbacks

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 23 (8/10/92)
Where played in 2015: Rookie, high Class A, Triple-A, majors
Minors stats: 2-3, 5.80 ERA, 1.63 WHIP, 23 K, 35 2/3 IP
Majors stats: 1-0, 2.76 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, 32 K, 29 1/3 IP
A liner to the head interrupted what was a nice start to Bradley's career and, along with shoulder tendinitis, ultimately took him out of the running, but a strong finish at Triple-A still hints of ace potential.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 7

50. Michael Feliz, RP, Astros

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 22 (6/28/93)
Where played in 2015: high Class A, Double-A, majors
Minors stats: 7-4, 2.83 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, 103 K, 111 1/3 IP
Majors stats: 0-0, 7.88 ERA, 1.63 WHIP, 7 K, 8 IP
Though pressed into bullpen duty last season, the hard-throwing Feliz is next in line for rotation spot with Vincent Velasquez out of the picture and should slot behind Dallas Keuchel and Lance McCullers long-term.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 6

51. Dylan Bundy, RP, Orioles

Bats: Both | Throws: Right
Age: 23 (11/15/92)
Where played in 2015: Double-A
Minors stats: 0-3, 3.68 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, 25 K, 22 IP
Being out of options works in Bundy's favor, but the former top overall pitching prospect hasn't thrown meaningful innings since 2012 and could begin in extended spring training while the Orioles figure out his role.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 8

52. Josh Bell, 1B, Pirates

Bats: Both | Throws: Right
Age: 23 (8/14/92)
Where played in 2015: Double-A, Triple-A
Minors stats: .317 BA, 7 HR, .838 OPS, 65 BB, 65 K
Bell would probably hold his own in the majors if the Pirates had chosen him to fill their first base need, but he still has yet to deliver on the power scouts keep promising.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 7

53. Max Kepler, OF, Twins

Bats: Left | Throws: Left
Age: 22 (2/10/93)
Where played in 2015: high Class A, Double-A, majors
Minors stats: .318 BA, 9 HR, 13 3B, 19 SB, .930 OPS, 69 BB, 68 K
Majors stats: 1 for 7, 3 K
A breakout season has the German-born prospect eyeing a starting job in the Twins outfield, but he may have to wait his turn behind Byron Buxton even if he appears to be the more advanced hitter at this stage.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 7

54. Lewis Brinson, OF, Rangers

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 21 (5/8/94)
Where played in 2015: high Class A, Double-A, Triple-A
Minors stats: .332 BA, 398 at-bats, 20 HR, 18 SB, 1.004 OPS, 44 BB, 98
K
Brinson has been on the periphery of these sorts of lists for years, but his raw tools may finally be close to fully baked now that he's not striking out every other at-bat.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 5

55. Nick Williams, OF, Phillies

Bats: Left | Throws: Left
Age: 22 (9/8/93)
Where played in 2015: Double-A
Minors stats: .303 BA, 17 HR, 13 SB, .845 OPS, 35 BB, 97 K
Williams recaptured his top-prospect standing with a strong showing at Double-A and doesn't face nearly as many obstacles after coming over from the Rangers in the deal.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 6

56. Nomar Mazara, OF, Rangers

Bats: Left | Throws: Left
Age: 20 (4/26/95)
Where played in 2015: Double-A, Triple-A
Minors stats: .296 BA, 14 HR, .808 OPS, 52 BB, 102 K
The tools aren't as loud for Mazara as for Brinson, but he really hit his stride over his final 175 at-bats, batting .331, and could make the kind of midseason impact for the Rangers that Michael Conforto did last year for the Mets.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 6

57. Manuel Margot, OF, Padres

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 21 (9/28/94)
Where played in 2015: high Class A, Double-A
Minors stats: .276 BA, 6 HR, 39 SB, .743 OPS, 32 BB, 51 K
Given that he makes lots of contact, steals lots of bases and projects for some modest power, the Red Sox may have felt comfortable dealing Margot because they already had a better version in Mookie Betts.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 5

58. Tom Murphy, C, Rockies

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 24 (4/3/91)
Where played in 2015: Double-A, Triple-A, majors
Minors stats: .256 BA (394 at-bats), 20 HR, .804 OPS, 28 BB, 123 K
Majors stats: .257 BA (35 at-bats), 3 HR, .876 OPS, 4 BB, 10 K
Murphy wouldn't rate so high if not for the Coors effect, but he looks like he could be what Wilin Rosario once was, only with the defensive chops to stick behind the plate.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 8

59. Trevor Story, SS, Rockies

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 23 (11/15/92)
Where played in 2015: Double-A, Triple-A
Minors stats: .279 BA, 20 HR, 40 2B, 20 SB, .820 OPS, 51 BB, 141 K
As prospects go, Story is second tier but clearly has the power potential to take advantage of Coors Field if and when the rebuilding Rockies decide to pawn off Jose Reyes or DJ LeMahieu.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 7

60. Andrew Knapp, C, Phillies

Bats: Both | Throws: Right
Age: 24 (11/9/91)
Where played in 2015: high Class A, Double-A
Minors stats: .308 BA, 13 HR, 35 2B, .876 OPS, 51 BB, 106 K
Now recovered from Tommy John surgery, Knapp looks like the Phillies' catcher of the future, but much of his production last year came in an especially hitter-friendly park.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 7

61. Willson Contreras, C, Cubs

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 23 (5/13/92)
Where played in 2015: Double-A
Minors stats: .333 BA, 8 HR, 34 2B, .891 OPS, 57 BB, 62 K
Contreras' bat is reminiscent of Victor Martinez's and may already be major-league ready, but after relenting on Kyle Schwarber, the Cubs may be extra stubborn about keeping the converted infielder at catcher, delaying his arrival.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 6

62. Mark Appel, SP, Phillies

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 24 (7/15/91)
Where played in 2015: Double-A, Triple-A
Minors stats: 10-3, 4.37 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, 110 K, 131 2/3 IP
The numbers still don't back up the hype for the first overall pick in the 2013 draft who the Astros so casually included in the Ken Giles deal, but the scouts continue to sing Appel's praises.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 6

63. Kyle Zimmer, RP, Royals

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 24 (9/13/91)
Where played in 2015: low Class A, Double-A
Minors stats: 3-5, 2.39 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, 72 K, 64 IP
A hard thrower with a penchant for punchouts, Zimmer will have a chance to reestablish himself as an ace-in-waiting after shoulder woes bumped him to the bullpen for a year.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 6

64. Bradley Shipley, SP, Diamondbacks

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 23 (2/22/92)
Where played in 2015: Double-A
Minors stats: 9-11, 3.50 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, 118 K, 156 2/3 IP
Shipley damaged his stock last year with a greatly reduced strikeout rate, but he did overcome some early mechanical woes to deliver a 2.49 ERA over his final 13 starts.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 6

65. Hyun Soo Kim, OF, Orioles

Bats: Left | Throws: Right
Age: 28 (1/12/88)
Where played in 2015: Korea
KBO stats: .326 BA, 28 HR, 11 SB, .979 OPS, 101 BB, 63 K
Kim clearly knows the strike zone and should make for a nice leadoff hitter for the Orioles, but if Byung Ho Park, a 50-homer guy in Korea, projects for only 20-25 home runs here, Kim might end up being little more than a Nori Aoki type.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 10

66. Jake Thompson, SP, Phillies

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 22 (1/31/94)
Where played in 2015: Double-A
Minors stats: 11-7, 3.73 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, 112 K, 132 2/3 IP
Thompson should have an easier time breaking into the big leagues after coming over from the Rangers in the Cole Hamels trade and joins Appel, Velasquez and Aaron Nola to give the Phillies an intriguing long-term four.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 6

67. Brandon Drury, 3B, Diamondbacks

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 23 (8/21/92)
Where played in 2015: Double-A, Triple-A, majors
Minors stats: .303 BA, 5 HR, 40 2B, .756 OPS, 32 BB, 76 K
Majors stats: .214 BA, 2 HR, 3 2B, .629 OPS, 2 BB, 8 K
Drury nearly beat out Chris Owings for the starting second base job last spring and then needed a month or so to recover from the disappointment, but he looks like he could be an Aaron Hill-in-his-prime type.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 8

68. Brian Johnson, SP, Red Sox

Bats: Left | Throws: Left
Age: 25 (12/7/90)
Where played in 2015: Triple-A, majors
Minors stats: 9-6, 2.53 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, 90 K, 96 IP
Majors stats: 0-1, 8.31 ERA, 1.62 WHIP, 3 K, 4 1/3 IP
Johnson makes up for a lack of pure stuff by commanding all four of his pitches and is clearly a finished product, but how he fits into new architect Dave Dombrowski's win-now philosophy remains to be seen.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 7

69. Lucas Sims, SP, Braves

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 21 (5/10/94)
Where played in 2015: Rookie, high Class A, Double-A
Minors stats: 7-6, 4.37 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, 100 K, 92 2/3 IP
Sims turned heads in the Arizona Fall League and regained his top prospect standing by rediscovering the control that abandoned him during the 2015 season, likely putting him on the fast track to the majors.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 6

70. Frankie Montas, RP, Dodgers

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 22 (3/21/93)
Where played in 2015: Double-A, majors
Minors stats: 5-5, 2.97 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 108 K, 112 IP
Majors stats: 0-2, 4.80 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, 20 K, 15 IP
Montas routinely hits triple digits with his fastball -- and with good enough control to at least hold his own in the majors -- but he may not have a diverse enough arsenal to stick in the starting rotation.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 7

71. Socrates Brito, OF, Diamondbacks

Bats: Left | Throws: Left
Age: 23 (9/6/92)
Where played in 2015: Double-A, majors
Minors stats: .300 BA, 9 HR, 15 3B, 20 SB, .790 OPS, 29 BB, 84 K
Majors stats: .303 BA (33 at-bats), 3 2B, 1 3B, 1 SB, .778 OPS, 1 BB, 7 K
Brito offers pretty much the same package the Diamondbacks recently gave up in Ender Inciarte -- high contact, plus speed, good defense, maybe even some pop -- and is in line to inherit at least some of his at-bats.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 8

72. Renato Nunez, 3B, Athletics

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 21 (4/4/94)
Where played in 2015: Double-A
Minors stats: .278 BA (381 at-bats), 18 HR, .812 OPS, 28 BB, 66 K
Nunez cut down on his strikeouts last year, making contact at an impressive rate for a player with his power potential, but he didn't enjoy any corresponding change in production.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 6

73. Matt Olson, 1B, Athletics

Bats: Left | Throws: Right
Age: 21 (3/29/94)
Where played in 2015: Double-A
Minors stats: .249 BA, 17 HR, 37 2B, .826 OPS, 105 BB, 139 K
A throwback to the Moneyball era, Olson has a lot of power and a lot of patience, but not a lot of anything else, which leaves him with a Brandon Moss-like ceiling.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 6

74. Mallex Smith, OF, Braves

Bats: Left | Throws: Right
Age: 22 (5/6/93)
Where played in 2015: Double-A, Triple-A
Minors stats: .306 BA, 2 HR, 57 SB, .760 OPS, 51 BB, 85 K
Smith was all set for an apprenticeship under the player whose game his most resembles, Michael Bourn, but following the acquisition of Inciarte, the speedster will have to bide his time in the minors.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 6

75. Raul Mondesi, SS, Royals

Bats: Both | Throws: Right
Age: 20 (7/27/95)
Where played in 2015: Double-A
Minors stats: .243 BA (304 at-bats), 6 HR, 19 SB, .651 OPS, 17 BB, 88 K
Though he appeared on the Royals' World Series roster, Mondesi is still far from major league-ready and remains the ultimate tools-over-results prospect in the game today, offering significant upside despite no tangible evidence of it.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 4

76. Sam Travis, 1B, Red Sox

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 22 (8/27/93)
Where played in 2015: high Class A, Double-A
Minors stats: .307 BA, 9 HR, 32 2B, 19 SB, .833 OPS, 59 BB, 77 K
Travis is kind of mirror image of Olson in that his only real shortcoming as a hitter is power, which may ultimately be a deal-breaker at first base, but he's of course not a finished product yet.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 5

77. John Lamb, SP, Reds

Bats: Left | Throws: Left
Age: 25 (7/10/90)
Where played in 2015: Triple-A, majors
Minors stats: 10-2, 2.67 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, 117 K, 111 1/3 IP
Majors stats: 1-5, 5.80 ERA, 1.55 WHIP, 58 K, 49 2/3 IP
Lamb, who has been off the prospect radar since having Tommy John surgery in 2011, showed last year he can still collect strikeouts with the best of them and could surprise in Fantasy if he keeps the ball in the park.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 9

78. Trey Mancini, 1B, Orioles

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 23 (3/18/92)
Where played in 2015: high Class A, Double-A
Minors stats: .341 BA, 21 HR, 43 2B, .938 OPS, 31 BB, 93 K
Mancini's introduction to most Fantasy owners was a report this offseason that he would've gotten the first crack at the Orioles' first base job if Chris Davis had moved on, which may have sounded nutty until you saw his numbers.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 7

79. Silvino Bracho, RP, Diamondbacks

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 23 (7/17/92)
Where played in 2015: high Class A, Double-A, majors
Minors stats: 19 saves, 1.60 ERA, 0.89 WHIP, 73 K, 50 2/3 IP
Majors stats: 1 save, 1.46 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, 17 K, 12 1/3 IP
Bracho clearly has the stuff to close, but for as much as the Diamondbacks have sacrificed in the name of winning now, he won't be their first choice for the role.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 10

80. Robert Refsnyder, 2B, Yankees

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 24 (3/26/91)
Where played in 2015: Triple-A, majors
Minors stats: .271 BA, 9 HR, 12 SB, .761 OPS, 56 BB, 73 K
Majors stats: .302 BA (43 at-bats), 2 HR, 2 SB, .859 OPS, 3 BB, 7 K
Refsnyder is a good hitter, but not so good that the Yankees will settle for sub-par defense at second base, which is why they acquired Starlin Castro from the Cubs this offseason.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 7

81. Taylor Guerrieri, SP, Rays

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 23 (12/1/92)
Where played in 2015: high Class A, Double-A
Minors stats: 5-3, 1.85 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, 72 K, 78 IP
A fireballer before his 2013 Tommy John surgery, Guerrieri's greatest strength now is his command of his secondary arsenal, but every version of him has been lights out, adding up to a 1.61 ERA over four seasons.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 5

82. Tyler Beede, SP, Giants

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 22 (5/23/93)
Where played in 2015: high Class A, Double-A
Minors stats: 5-10, 3.97 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, 86 K, 124 2/3 IP
Despite his advanced age and early draft selection, Beede is a bit of a project for the Giants, caught between being a power pitcher and a sinkerballer as he learns to command the strike zone.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 5

83. Jorge Alfaro, C, Phillies

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 22 (6/11/93)
Where played in 2015: Rookie, Double-A
Minors stats: .258 BA (194 at-bats), 5 HR, .762 OPS, 9 BB, 61 K
Tom Murphy may have what Wilin Rosario didn't, but Alfaro is looking like a carbon copy: a power hitter whose offensive limitations wouldn't stand up to a position change but whose defensive limitations may demand it.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 4

84. Victor Robles, OF, Nationals

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 18 (5/19/97)
Where played in 2015: Rookie, short-season Class A
Minors stats: .352 BA (213 at-bats), 4 HR, 24 SB, .952 OPS, 18 BB, 33 K
Seems like every year, some 18-year-old at Rookie ball generates enough buzz in prospect circles for even Fantasy owners to take notice, and Robles is that 18-year-old this year, projecting as a five-tool player if he develops power as expected.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 1

85. Nick Gordon, SS, Twins

Bats: Left | Throws: Right
Age: 20 (10/24/95)
Where played in 2015: Rookie, low Class A
Minors stats: .277 BA, 1 HR, 25 SB, .696 OPS, 39 BB, 88 K
Dee Gordon's younger half-brother isn't as fast but projects to be a more balanced player, with the defensive chops to stick at shortstop and above-average power for the position.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 1

86. Anthony Alford, OF, Blue Jays

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 21 (7/20/94)
Where played in 2015: low Class A, high Class A
Minors stats: .298 BA, 4 HR, 25 2B, 27 SB, .820 OPS, 67 BB, 109 K
For a player whose baseball career had previously taken a back seat to his college football career, Alford looked surprisingly polished last year, making a future as a 20-20 player suddenly seem more plausible.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 2

87. Amir Garrett, SP, Reds

Bats: Left | Throws: Left
Age: 23 (5/3/92)
Where played in 2015: high Class A
Minors stats: 9-7, 2.44 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, 133 K, 140 1/3 IP
The former St. John's basketball player finally began to make inroads toward becoming a major-league pitcher, dominating players younger than him with a traditional power arsenal.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 5

88. Tony Kemp, 2B, Astros

Bats: Left | Throws: Right
Age: 24 (10/31/91)
Where played in 2015: Double-A, Triple-A
Minors stats: .308 BA, 3 HR, 35 SB, .773 OPS, 56 BB, 65 K
Often overlooked, literally, at 5-feet-6, Kemp profiles as an ideal leadoff hitter, demonstrating exceptional contact and on-base skills, as well as plus speed, but he's blocked by another diminutive second baseman who excels in those same areas.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 7

89. Micah Johnson, 2B, Dodgers

Bats: Left | Throws: Right
Age: 25 (12/18/90)
Where played in 2015: Rookie, Triple-A, majors
Minors stats: .316 BA (326 at-bats), 8 HR, 28 SB, .843 OPS, 34 BB, 65 K
Majors stats: .230 BA (100 at-bats), 3 SB, .576 OPS, 9 BB, 30 K
The steals were nowhere to be found in the majors last year and have been lacking since his 84-steal 2013, which gives Johnson little chance of gaining a foothold on a loaded Dodgers roster.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 7

90. Mac Williamson, OF, Giants

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 25 (7/15/90)
Where played in 2015: Double-A, Triple-A, majors
Minors stats: .275 BA, 13 HR, 73 RBI, .801 OPS, 51 BB, 108 K
Majors stats: .219 BA (32 at-bats), 1 3B, .517 OPS, 8 K
Williamson took a step back in his first year back from Tommy John surgery, but still profiles as a big-time power hitter with good plate discipline and could catch the Fantasy Baseball world by surprise this year.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 7

91. Zack Godley, SP, Diamondbacks

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 25 (4/21/90)
Where played in 2015: high Class A, Double-A, majors
Minors stats: 10-4, 2.71 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, 90 K, 99 2/3 IP
Majors stats: 5-1, 3.19 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, 34 K, 36 2/3 IP
Having learned to deceive hitters with both a cutting and tailing fastball, Godley was shaping up to be one of the biggest surprises of the second half before his innings caught up to him.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 7

92. Trayce Thompson, OF, Dodgers

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 24 (3/15/91)
Where played in 2015: Triple-A, majors
Minors stats: .260 BA (388 at-bats), 13 HR, 11 SB, .744 OPS, 23 BB, 79 K
Majors stats: .295 BA (122 at-bats), 5 HR, 1 SB, .896 OPS, 13 BB, 26 K
Thompson performed well on the big stage after never capitalizing on his considerable tools in the minors, but the White Sox decided to sell high this offseason rather than make him their regular right fielder.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 7

93. Alen Hanson, 2B, Pirates

Bats: Both | Throws: Right
Age: 23 (10/22/92)
Where played in 2015: Triple-A
Minors stats: .263 BA, 6 HR, 12 3B, 35 SB, .701 OPS, 37 BB, 91 K
Hanson's stock seems to fall every year he's in the minors, but he gets a chance to sink or swim with Neil Walker out of town and Jung Ho Kang likely on the DL to begin the year.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 8

94. Richie Shaffer, 1B, Rays

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 24 (3/15/91)
Where played in 2015: Double-A, Triple-A, majors
Minors stats: .267 BA (393 at-bats), 26 HR, .897 OPS, 54 BB, 123 K
Majors stats: .189 BA (74 at-bats), 4 HR, .699 OPS, 10 BB, 32 K
After looking like a first-round bust, Shaffer finally began to tap into his massive power potential last year, but he's a little one-note for the Rays' liking and may have to settle for a platoon role with them.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 7

95. Jarrett Parker, OF, Giants

Bats: Left | Throws: Left
Age: 27 (1/1/89)
Where played in 2015: Triple-A, majors
Minors stats: .283 BA, 23 HR, 20 SB, .889 OPS, 62 BB, 164 K
Majors stats: .347 BA (49 at-bats), 6 HR, 1 SB, 1.163 OPS, 5 BB, 21 K
Parker homered five times during a three-game stretch last September, which puts him in the running for a reserve role this spring, but he may be just a present-day version of Shane Spencer.
Scott's 2016 Fantasy impact: 7

96. Peter O'Brien, OF, Diamondbacks

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 25 (7/15/90)
Where played in 2015: Triple-A, majors
Minors stats: .284 BA, 26 HR, 35 2B, .883 OPS, 31 BB, 124 K
Majors stats: .400 BA (10 at-bats), 1 HR, 1 2B, 1.300 OPS, 2 BB, 5 K
Another all-or-nothing type at a make-or-break point in his career, O'Brien is less likely than Shaffer or Parker to win a job this spring but would have more value overall if his move back to catcher goes well.

97. Chad Pinder, SS, Athletics

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 23 (3/29/92)
Where played in 2015: Double-A
Minors stats: .317 BA, 15 HR, 32 2B, .847 OPS, 28 BB, 103 K
As the hitter friendliest of parks in the hitter friendliest of leagues, high Class A Stockton has contributed to some prospect fakeouts over the years, but Pinder's numbers actually improved in his full season at Double-A last year.

98. Wilmer Difo, 2B, Nationals

Bats: Both | Throws: Right
Age: 23 (4/2/92)
Where played in 2015: high Class A, Double-A
Minors stats: .286 BA, 5 HR, 30 SB, .738, 20 BB, 92 K
Majors stats: 2 for 11, 2 K
Difo profiles as kind of a poor man's Trea Turner (his eventual double-play partner, potentially), offering some pop and plenty of speed but maybe with less projectability in batting average.

99. Colin Moran, 3B, Astros

Bats: Left | Throws: Right
Age: 23 (10/1/92)
Where played in 2015: Double-A
Minors stats: .306 BA (366 at-bats), 9 HR, .840 OPS, 43 BB, 79 K
The knock on Moran is his lack of power for a corner infielder, which makes his final 45 games last year, when he hit .337 with eight homers and a .967 OPS in 175 at-bats, particularly interesting.

100. Zach Davies, SP, Brewers

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Age: 22 (2/7/93)
Minors stats: 6-8, 3.30 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, 102 K, 128 1/3 IP
Majors stats: 3-2, 3.71 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, 24 K, 34 IP
Davies will be a fine case study for pitchers with lackluster stuff apart from one exceptional pitch -- in his case, a changeup that kept major-league hitters off balance over six efficient starts to end the season.
