Emanuel Hall: Let go by Washington
The Washington Football Team waived Hall (Achilles) on Friday.
Hall spent some time with Washington's practice squad in 2019 before signing a futures deal with the team. Hall was unable to make his NFL debut after tearing his Achilles in June 2020, and while the extent of the injury is still unclear, the 23-year-old will aim to land a position elsewhere for the 2021 season.

Hall was waived by Washington with a non-football injury designation Sunday but ultimately went unclaimed. It is unclear how or when Hall suffered the injury, but it will bring his 2020 season to a premature end. The Missouri product joined the Redskins' practice squad as a rookie last season and subsequently signed a futures contract in December. Hall has bounced around since entering the league, but he most recently was on the Buccaneers' practice squad until being cut in September. The undrafted rookie generated 70 catches for 1,645 yards and 14 touchdowns over his final two collegiate seasons at Missouri, and he could be promoted to the active roster should another Redskins' receiver get injured.

The Buccaneers released Hall (sports hernia) from their practice squad Monday, Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Hall has impressive athleticism with a 4.39 40-yard dash and 43.5-inch vertical, but his collegiate production for Missouri was modest with 37 catches for 828 yards and six touchdowns in his senior season. He's a solid candidate to land on another team's practice squad.

Hall (sports hernia) signed with Tampa Bay's practice squad Sunday, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Hall was originally scooped up off waivers from Chicago on Aug. 14 and didn't have much of a chance to build a case for a roster spot as he recovered from a sports hernia procedure he underwent in June. The 22-year-old caught 70 passes for 1,645 yards and 14 touchdowns over his last two seasons at Mizzou, and could impress at the professional level as he recovers and develops on Tampa's practice squad.

Scooped up off waivers from Chicago last week, Hall -- who is recovering from the sports hernia procedure he required in June -- didn't have enough time to build his case for a spot on the 53-man roster. Though he went undrafted out of Missouri this spring in part because of health concerns, Hall was a standout during athletic testing in pre-draft workouts and could make for an intriguing developmental receiver once he's back to full strength. The Buccaneers are likely earmarking a spot for him on their practice squad if he goes unclaimed off waivers.

The Buccaneers claimed Hall (sports hernia) off waivers Wednesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Hall was recently waived by the Bears on Tuesday but was able to find a new team the very next day. The Missouri product surprisingly went undrafted during April's draft, after he tore up the combine with a 141-inch broad jump and 4.39 40 time despite dealing with a groin injury. Hall did undergo a procedure to address a sports hernia back in June, so he's likely still recovering. Assuming he makes a full recovery, Hall could be in the mix for a 53-man roster spot with Tampa Bay.

Hall had some hype as a potential Day 2 draft pick after he tore up the 2019 combine with a 141-inch broad jump, 43.5-inch vertical and 4.39 40 time while battling through a groin injury. He surprisingly went undrafted, perhaps because he needed surgery to address a sports hernia. Hall's athletic credentials should get him a shot with another team, but he may have to prove his health before that happens. He caught 70 passes for 1,645 yards (23.5 average) and 14 touchdowns in 18 games for Missouri the past two seasons.

Bears' Emanuel Hall: Undergoes minor surgery
Coach Matt Nagy said Wednesday that Hall recently underwent a procedure to address a sports hernia, JJ Stankevitz of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
Hall had been dealing with a groin injury since the end of his senior season in Missouri but delayed surgery to address the matter while he looked to impress during the pre-draft process. Despite turning in excellent workout numbers, Hall's decision ultimately didn't pay off, as he went undrafted in April before finding a home with the Bears in free agency. Hall's surgery is believed to be similar to the one tight end Trey Burton recently required -- Burton is being held out for the remainder of the Bears' offseason program due to the issue. The missed action is a less-than-ideal development for an undrafted rookie, but Hall could be ready to go for training camp, assuming he only requires the typical 4-to-6-week recovery timeline usually associated with sports hernia surgeries.

An undrafted wide receiver out of Missouri, Hall dealt with a hernia injury during the leadup to the draft that hindered his athletic testing and could've dropped his draft stock. Initially expected to be a mid-round pick, Hall could prove to be a quality pickup for the Bears in the undrafted free agent market. He says he's 100 percent healthy now and he'll look to make Chicago's roster as a depth wide receiver and special teams player.
