SEC: More honors pour in for Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel

Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel is becoming a weekly fixture on the list of SEC awards.

Add Week 11 SEC offensive player of the week and SEC freshman of the week to his growing list of accolades.

Manziel was honored by the league's office on Monday morning for leading the Aggies to a 29-24 upset over Alabama in Tuscaloosa. The redshirt freshman completed 24 of 31 attempts (77.4 percent) for 253 yards, two TDs and no INTs. He added 92 yards on the ground. 

With his effort, Manziel became only the second freshman in FBS history (Brad Smith, Missouri, 2002) to reach the 2,000-yard passing mark and the 1,000-yard rushing plateau in the same season.

Other SEC awards:

Co-Defensive Players of the Week: South Carolina safety D.J. Swearinger  (13 tackles, TFL, 69-yard INT return for a TD vs. Arkansas) and LSU safety Craig Loston (6 tackles, 100-yard INT return for a TD vs. Mississippi State.

Co-Special Teams Players of the Week: Missouri kicker Andrew Baggett (6 of 6 extra points and his a 35-yard game-winning FG vs. Tennessee) and Florida cornerback Loucheiz Purifoy (blocked a punt that led to the game-winning TD for Florida vs. Louisiana-Lafayette).

Offensive Lineman of the Week: Georgia center David Andrews (graded out at 88 percent in his blocking and had three pancake blocks vs. Auburn).

Defensive Lineman of the Week: Vanderbilt defensive end Walker May (6 tackles, 3 TFLs, sack vs. Ole Miss).
