    Rueschhoff signed a one-year contract with the Rangers on Monday. The 24-year-old has yet to make his NHL debut, most recently putting up 24 points in 59 games with AHL Hartford last season. Rueschhoff brings a commanding physical presence with his 6-foot-7, 230-pound frame, but he doesn't appear set to make the jump to regular NHL duty anytime soon.

Rueschhoff's return to practice is unlikely to change the fact that he is a long shot to secure a spot on the Opening Night roster.
