Red Wings' Jonatan Berggren: Nabs assist Tuesday
Berggren posted an assist in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Sharks. Berggren ended a four-game point drought with the helper. He's had some bursts of offense this season, but he's yet to get on the scoresheet in more than two consecutive contests. Red Wings' Jonatan Berggren: Seals win late
Berggren scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Blue Jackets. Berggren was designated to serve a delay-of-game penalty after the Red Wings lost a challenge on the Blue Jackets' fourth goal. That proved to be a smart selection, as he took a Tyler Motte pass out of the box and scored the game-winning goal with 36 seconds left in regulation. Berggren has four points over his last six contests and is seeing time on the third line and second power-play unit. The 24-year-old is at six goals, four assists, 50 shots on net and a minus-4 rating over 36 appearances this season. His tally Thursday was the first game-winner of his NHL career.... See More ... Red Wings' Jonatan Berggren: Two points in Tuesday's win
Berggren scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Penguins. The 24-year-old winger beat Alex Nedeljkovic on a breakaway midway through the first period to open the scoring, and Berggren then helped set up J.T. Compher for what proved to be the game-winner late in the third. It's Berggren's first multi-point performance since Dec. 1, but in between he managed only one point (an assist) in 10 appearances. On the season, he's collected five goals and nine points in 35 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Red Wings' Jonatan Berggren: Nets equalizer Thursday
Berggren scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Islanders. Berggren tallied at 15:14 of the third period to tie the game at 1-1, which allowed Lucas Raymond to play the hero with the game-winner in the final minute of regulation. With three goals over his last five games, Berggren is heating up on offense. He has a total of four points, 34 shots on net and a minus-4 rating through 19 outings this season. Since he's stuck in a fourth-line role, his recent success on offense is unlikely to last barring a move to a better spot in the lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Red Wings' Jonatan Berggren: Goals in back-to-back games
Berggren scored a power-play goal on two shots in Friday's 6-4 loss to the Ducks. Berggren is starting to turn things around -- he's scored in back-to-back games after failing to tally in the first 14 contests of the year. His tally Friday was his first power-play point since the 2022-23 campaign. The 24-year-old winger has three points, 32 shots on net and a minus-2 rating over 16 outings this season.... See More ... Red Wings' Jonatan Berggren: Adds assist in win
Berggren recorded an assist and two shots on goal in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Predators. Berggren's helper was his first point through five outings, as he's struggled to make an impact in a bottom-six role. The winger has added eight shots on net, two hits and a plus-1 rating. The 24-year-old is seeing time on the second power-play unit, but until he gets more overall ice time -- he's exceeded 15 minutes in just one game this year -- his scoring potential will be fairly limited....
