  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: In doubt Thursday

Howden is dealing with an illness and may not travel with the team for Thursday's matchup with the Blues, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. Considering the Knights are traveling for a road back-to-back if Howden isn't available versus St. Louis on Thursday, he shouldn't be expected to face the Stars on Friday either. The 26-year-old forward recently broke out of a 10-game goal drought with his tally versus the Blues on Monday, finding the back of the net for the first time in 2025.

  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: Lights lamp Monday

Howden scored a goal on five shots and added two PIM in Monday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Blues. Howden ended a six-game slump with his tally. The 26-year-old played well before that dry spell, but the Golden Knights are relatively healthy at forward now, so he's been limited to third-line duties. Overall, the physical forward has 16 goals, 22 points, 82 shots on net, 87 hits, 37 blocked shots, 22 PIM and a plus-8 rating through 47 appearances. He needs two more points to set a new personal best.

  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: Assists in consecutive contests

Howden notched an assist, two shots on goal and two hits in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Sharks. This was Howden's second straight game with an assist. Five of his six helpers this season have come over the last nine contests, as he has started to balance his contributions a bit following a goal-heavy start to the campaign. For the season, he's at 21 points, 68 shots on net, 69 hits, 30 blocked shots and a plus-8 rating through 40 appearances. Howden looks to be secure in his spot on the third line for now.

  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: Records helper in win

Howden notched an assist and three shots on goal in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Sabres. Howden had gone two games without a point, his longest drought in three weeks. The 26-year-old ended the short dry spell when he set up Tanner Laczynski for the opening goal at 4:53 of the first period. Howden hasn't done much playmaking this year -- he's racked up 15 goals and five assists to get to the 20-point mark for the third time in seven NHL campaigns. He's added 66 shots on net, 67 hits, 30 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating over 39 appearances.

  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: Nets goal in win

Howden scored a goal on three shots, added four PIM and went plus-2 in Sunday's 3-0 win over the Flames. Howden is on a surge with five goals and three assists over his last seven outings. The 26-year-old forward's goal was the game-winner in the shutout, as he opened the scoring 15:59 into the second period. He's matched last year's point total (19) in half the time, racking up 15 goals and four assists through 36 contests after requiring 72 games to get to that mark in 2023-24. This season, he's added 60 shots on net, 63 hits, 30 blocked shots, 18 PIM and a plus-5 rating while filling a middle-six role.

  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: One of each Friday

Howden scored an empty-net goal on two shots and added an assist in Friday's 6-3 win over the Sharks. Howden was involved in the Golden Knights' last two goals. He set up Pavel Dorofeyev's tally at 5:46 of the third period before adding an empty-netter in the final minute. Howden has multiple points in three of his last four outings, and he's up to 14 goals, four assists, 57 shots on net, 63 hits, 30 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating through 35 appearances. He played at center Friday but has often been on the wing. Howden is on pace to shatter his career high of 23 points from his rookie year with the Rangers in 2018-19.

  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: Two more points in win

Howden scored a goal, dished an assist, went plus-4, added two hits and blocked two shots in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Kraken. Howden looks set to take on increased responsibilities while Ivan Barbashev (upper body) is on the mend. The 26-year-old Howden has three goals and five points over his last four games. He's typically a bottom-six player when the Golden Knights are healthy, but he's moved up to cover for injuries in previous seasons. Howden has 13 goals, three assists, 55 shots on net, 57 hits, 29 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating over 33 appearances.

  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: Goal, assist in win

Howden scored an empty-net goal and added an assist in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Canucks. Howden set up William Karlsson for the go-ahead goal early in the third period before adding an empty-netter himself to seal the win. The 26-year-old Howden has two goals and an assist over his last three outings, and this was his first multi-point effort since his two-goal game Nov. 29 versus the Jets. He's at 12 goals, two helpers, 54 shots on net, 55 hits, 27 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating over 32 contests this season, playing mainly in a middle-six role.

  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: Scores shortie Saturday

Howden scored a shorthanded goal in Saturday's 6-3 loss to Edmonton. Howden took advantage of a mistake from Stuart Skinner, who tripped and fell while playing the puck behind his goal when the Oilers had the man advantage, to score for the first time since the forward's two-goal performance in a 4-3 win over the Jets on Nov. 29. Howden has 11 goals and one assist across 30 appearances this season.

  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: Two-goal game Friday

Howden scored twice, added two PIM and logged two hits in Friday's 4-3 win over the Jets. Howden tallied the Golden Knights' first and fourth goals, with the latter being the game-winner. He has four goals over his last seven outings, but he had a five-game drought prior to this improved stretch of play. The 26-year-old has a career-best 10 tallies through 24 contests already, though he's added just one assist, 43 shots on net, 35 hits and a minus-2 rating. He's shooting 23.3 percent, so he's a candidate for regression, but the five-year contract he signed last Friday suggests he'll be a lock to stay in the lineup in the long run.

  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: Inks five-year extension

Howden signed a five-year, $12.5 million contract extension with the Golden Knights on Friday. Howden is in the midst of his fourth season with the Golden Knights, and his extension will keep him under contract with the team through the 2029-30 campaign. The 26-year-old is on pace for one of the best years of his career this season, as he's tallied eight goals, nine points and 29 hits while averaging 15:07 of ice time over his first 20 appearances. However, even with his improved pace of getting on the scoresheet, Howden's fantasy upside remains limited.

  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: Scores in Sunday's loss

Howden scored a goal on two shots and added four hits in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Capitals. A lively bounce off the boards came right to Howden, who got the Golden Knights on the board at 19:52 of the first period. The tally snapped his five-game point drought, a stretch that has seen him slip back into a third-line role. The 26-year-old forward is up to seven goals, one assist, 35 shots on net, 26 hits and a minus-3 rating over 18 contests this season. His physical play could earn him attention in deeper fantasy formats that reward such production.

  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: Goal, assist in overtime win

Howden scored a goal on four shots, dished an assist and blocked two shots in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over Utah. Howden helped on a Pavel Dorofeyev goal in the second period to get Vegas on the board. At the 2:15 mark of overtime, Howden buried a pass from Noah Hanifin to earn the victory. Howden has two multi-point efforts this campaign, and he's looking like a good fit on the second line. He is up to six goals, one assist, 28 shots on net, 14 hits, 10 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over 12 contests. The 26-year-old won't be a leader on offense, but he's emerging as a reliable secondary scorer with a physical edge, and that's worth a look in fantasy.

  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: Scores twice in win

Howden scored two goals and added two hits in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Sharks. While the top line took many of the accolades, Howden was a force from the second line. He has three goals over his last four games while playing in a consistent top-six role, though his ice time could decrease now that William Karlsson is healthy. Howden has five goals, no assists, 18 shots on net, 12 hits, seven blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over nine outings this season.

  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: Deposits goal

Howden scored a goal on three shots and blocked three shots in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Panthers. Howden is up to three goals in six games this season, which is pretty good work for a fourth-liner. He may not stay in that role much longer -- Vegas swapped Howden and Tanner Pearson mid-game Saturday. The Golden Knights' wing depth is a little shaky, so Howden may get a chance to see more middle-six opportunities throughout the year. He brings a physical edge, though he's produced just four hits and five blocked shots in addition to 15 shots on net and a minus-3 rating so far.

  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: Tallies in win

Howden scored a goal on four shots and added two hits in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Ducks. Howden opened the scoring at 6:17 of the first period. The 26-year-old forward has two goals on eight shots while adding three hits through three contests this season. Howden continues to occupy a third-line role. With Vegas still figuring out its best combinations in the middle six, it's possible Howden could play his way into a more prominent role, though he's yet to be a factor on the power play.

  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: Pots goal Wednesday

Howden scored an empty-net goal on four shots in Wednesday's 8-4 win over the Avalanche. Howden had a productive game as the fourth-line center, though he saw 13:19 of ice time. The 26-year-old has played all over the Vegas lineup in recent years, so it's no surprise to see him earn more ice time than his role would suggest. The center had 19 points in 72 regular-season outings last year. Howden can offer a little depth scoring and physicality, but he's unlikely to be a factor on the power play, so he has limited fantasy utility.

  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: Nets lone goal in loss

Howden scored a goal on four shots, added two hits and blocked two shots in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Stars in Game 7. Howden tied the game at 1-1 with a goal late in the second period. The 26-year-old played in all seven of the Golden Knights' postseason contests, earning two points, seven shots on net, 23 hits and five blocked shots from a bottom-six role. He remains under contract for 2024-25 after posting 19 points in 72 regular-season outings during 2023-24.

  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: Registers helper in Game 4

Howden posted an assist and two hits in Monday's 4-2 loss to the Stars in Game 4. The helper was Howden's first in four playoff outings. He's added two shots on net and 15 hits while filling a bottom-six role. Howden had 19 points, 76 shots on net, 85 hits and 51 blocked shots in 72 regular-season appearances. He can move up the lineup on occasion, but it's likely a better sign for Vegas if he sticks in the bottom six throughout the postseason.

  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: Provides assist

Howden logged an assist in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Blackhawks. Howden has a helper in each of the last two contests after going four games without a point. The 26-year-old continues to see bottom-six usage, though he logged 16:05 of ice time Tuesday, which is his most in a game since Feb. 17. The forward has 19 points, 75 shots on net, 85 hits, 51 blocked shots, 39 PIM and a minus-10 rating through 71 appearances on the year.
