  • Jets' Laurent Brossoit: Needed in relief against Isles

Brossoit turned aside 12 of 13 shots after replacing Connor Hellebuyck midway through the second period of Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Islanders. The switch in the crease had less to do with Hellebuyck's play and was more an effort by coach Rick Bowness to wake up his sleepwalking team, but Brossoit did his part in giving the Jets a chance to rally. The 31-year-old backup goalie has been impressive when called upon of late, and through five outings in March, Brossoit's gone 3-1-0 with a .945 save percentage.

  • Jets' Laurent Brossoit: Shutout streak ends at 179 minutes

Brossoit made 37 saves in a 4-1 loss to the Devils on Thursday. He allowed three goals. All three goals came on the power play. It was Brossoit's first loss in six starts. His shutout streak came to an end after 179 minutes and 40 seconds. • Jets' Laurent Brossoit: Slated to start Thursday

Brossoit is set to guard the crease against the Devils on the road Thursday, Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press reports. Brossoit is riding a five-game winning streak during which he's posted a 1.40 GAA, .948 save percentage and two shutouts. With their No. 2 option rolling, it seems the Jets are willing to give the 30-year-old netminder some extra looks, as he figures to get one of the upcoming back-to-back games against the Islanders and Capitals on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Even then, Brossoit won't be taking the starting job away from Connor Hellebuyck any time soon.

  • Jets' Laurent Brossoit: Records second consecutive shutout

Brossoit made 21 saves in Friday's 6-0 shutout win over the Ducks. Brossoit has five straight wins, including back-to-back shutouts. While it's only natural that he would play second fiddle to Connor Hellebuyck -- a four-time NHL All-Star who's making a serious bid for the second Vezina Trophy of his illustrious career -- there's no denying that Brossoit has been an excellent streaming option this campaign. The 30-year-old Brossoit has earned a 12-4-2 record with a sparkling 1.99 GAA and .927 save percentage through 18 games played.

  • Jets' Laurent Brossoit: Shuts out Kraken

Brossoit posted a 17-save shutout in Friday's 3-0 win over the Kraken. Brossoit earned his first shutout since the 2021-22 campaign in this effort. The 30-year-old wasn't tested much, and the Jets' offense took over in the third period. Brossoit is up to 11-4-2 with a 2.11 GAA and a .924 save percentage through 17 appearances. This kind of game represents a best-case scenario for the Jets -- Connor Hellebuyck was able to back up Friday after battling an illness, but if he's not 100 percent, Brossoit's light workload should mean he'll be relatively fresh if he needs to play Saturday versus the Canucks.

Brossoit turned aside 29 shots in Wednesday's 1-0 overtime loss to the Maple Leafs. The 30-year-old netminder was brilliant while shutting down Toronto's potent offense for 60-plus minutes, but Ilya Samsonov was also standing on his head in the other crease and Brossoit finally got beat when Auston Matthews got free on his doorstep for a deflection inside the final minute of OT.
