  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Falls to Kraken

Kuemper stopped 18 of 21 shots in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Kraken. Kuemper allowed more than one goal for the first time in six starts. The 34-year-old gave up two goals to Jaden Schwartz in the first period and allowed Chandler Stephenson to put home the decisive tally early in the second. The Kraken handed Kuemper his second regulation loss in his last 13 games. He's now at 13-4-5 with a 2.10 GAA and a .920 save percentage through 23 appearances this season. The Kings return home to face the Penguins on Monday.

  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Guarding goal in Seattle

Kuemper will protect the road goal versus the Kraken on Saturday, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports. Kuemper is 5-1-0 with just seven goals allowed on 164 shots over his last six starts. He has a 1.16 GAA and a .957 save percentage in that span. Given the Kraken often have trouble with consistency on offense, this is a strong matchup for Kuemper from a fantasy perspective.

  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Excellent again in win

Kuemper stopped 20 of 21 shots in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Canucks. Kuemper has allowed one goal or less in five straight games, and he's unlucky to be 4-1-0 in that span. The Kings' offense also scored more than three goals for the first time in six games. Kuemper has been excellent lately and is now 13-3-5 with a 2.06 GAA and a .922 save percentage over 22 contests. As long as he keeps playing well, he'll have no trouble maintaining the No. 1 job over David Rittich. The Kings' five-game road trip comes to a close in Seattle on Saturday.

  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Expected to start Thursday

Kuemper is slated to defend the road crease in Vancouver on Thursday, according to Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site. Kuemper has been outstanding of late as he is 4-1-0 in his last five starts, allowing only six goals on 143 shots (.958 save percentage). He has turned over a new leaf since he was dealt from Washington in the offseason, going 12-3-5 with a 2.11 GAA and a .921 save percentage. He struggled in 2023-24 with the Capitals, as he had a 3.31 GAA and a .890 save percentage to go with his 13-14-3 record. The Canucks are tied for 20th in NHL scoring, generating 2.88 goals per game.

  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: No margin for error in Edmonton

Kuemper stopped 29 shots in Monday's 1-0 loss to the Oilers. The veteran netminder was nearly perfect, but nearly wasn't good enough on a night when the Kings couldn't solve Stuart Skinner. The lone goal Kuemper allowed came late in the second period -- after denying Darnell Nurse from in close while the teams were skating 4-on-4, the rebound went straight to Connor McDavid, who made no mistake. It was Kuemper's first regulation loss since returning in early December from an undisclosed injury, and over his last 11 appearances, he's gone 8-1-2 with a dazzling 1.63 GAA and .940 save percentage.

  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: First off Monday

Kuemper was the first goalie off the ice at the morning skate, Zach Dooley of LA Kings Insider reports, indicating he will defend the road net versus Edmonton on Monday. Kuemper made 24 saves in a 4-3 overtime victory over Edmonton on Dec. 28 to begin his four-game winning streak. He has a 12-2-5 record with two shutouts, a 2.16 GAA and a .919 save percentage through 20 appearances this season. The Oilers sit eighth in the league with 3.31 goals per game in 2024-25.

  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Wins close game

Kuemper stopped 18 of 19 shots in Friday's 2-1 overtime win over the Jets. Kuemper picked up his fourth straight win, and it was a return to form for the Kings' often stingy defense. The Jets' goal was a Mark Scheifele power-play tally midway through the third period. Kuemper has allowed just five goals during his winning streak. He improved to 12-2-5 with a 2.16 GAA and a .919 save percentage over 20 starts this season. The Kings complete their back-to-back set in Calgary on Saturday, and it'll likely be David Rittich in goal against one of his former teams.

  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: In goal Friday

Kuemper will start in goal on the road versus the Jets on Friday, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports. Kuemper hasn't played since Saturday because the Kings' game against Calgary was postponed Wednesday due to the Los Angeles wildfires. The 34-year-old Kuemper gets the first half of a back-to-back Friday, and he comes into the game on a three-game winning streak in which he has allowed just four goals. The Jets are a tough opponent, but they've won just three of their last six games while scoring 19 times in that span.

  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Wednesday's game postponed

Kuemper and the Kings won't face Calgary on Wednesday after the game was postponed due to wildfires. With concerns regarding health and safety, the NHL made the decision to postpone this game to a future date. The Kings head out on a five-game road trip starting Friday versus Winnipeg, so there shouldn't be any additional impacts on Los Angeles' schedule moving forward.

Kuemper stopped 34 of 35 shots in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Lightning. Kuemper has won three straight outings, allowing just four goals in that span against some intimidating offenses (Edmonton, New Jersey and Tampa Bay). He allowed an early goal to Victor Hedman at 1:09 of the first period but kept the net secure after that. Kuemper improved to 11-2-5 with a 2.22 GAA and a .918 save percentage over 19 appearances. The Kings wrap up their five-game homestand when the Flames come to town Wednesday.

  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Posts 33-save shutout

Kuemper recorded a 33-save shutout in Wednesday's 3-0 win over the Devils. This game featured the most shots Kuemper has faced since Oct. 14 versus the Senators, but he was up to the task. He earned his second shutout of the campaign, surpassing the total he had across 33 regular-season outings with the Capitals last year (one). The 34-year-old netminder has gone 6-0-2 with just 15 goals allowed across his last eight starts, improving his season numbers to a 10-2-5 record, a 2.29 GAA and a .914 save percentage over 18 starts. The Kings' next game is Saturday at home against the Lightning, which is a tough matchup.

  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Helps team get point

Kuemper made 23 saves in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Predators on Saturday. The Kings were flat for the first two-and-a-half periods, and Kuemper kept things close until his teammates woke up. However, he got caught out of the crease in OT, and Nick Blankenburg had an easy open net to get the winner. Kuemper and David Rittich have started 16 games apiece, but Kuemper has played in six of the last seven contests. Kuemper's .911 save percentage is also significantly better than Rittich's .890, but they have similar GAAs, with Kuemper sitting at 2.40 and Rittich at 2.49. Los Angeles is a strong team, and both goalies will perform well when given the chance to play, but Kuemper should see the bulk of the starts now that he's healthy.

Kuemper is a key driver of the Kings' success.
