Connor Davis: Gets tryout with Philadelphia
Davis (shoulder) received a tryout with the Eagles on Monday, Howard Balzer of SI.com reports.
Davis spent last season with the Browns on IR, and much of the 2020 season on the Jets' practice squad. The 27-year-old has played in the USFL, XFL and AAF, but he has yet to appear in an NFL game.

Connor Davis: Waived Saturday
Davis (shoulder) was waived from injured reserve Saturday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
Davis was signed by the Browns in May, though he was never able to take the field for the team. He has been sidelined since Aug. 25 with a shoulder injury, and he will look to find a new opportunity once he returns to health.

Browns' Connor Davis: Placed on IR
Davis was placed on injured reserve with a shoulder injury Tuesday, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Davis hauled in four of five targets for 29 yards in Sunday's preseason win over the Giants, but he sustained a shoulder injury during the contest. Unless he works out a settlement with the team, the tight end will be forced to miss the 2021 campaign since he was placed on IR before the 53-man roster was finalized.

The Jets signed Davis to the practice squad Tuesday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports.
The Jets are apparently seeking depth at tight end after placing Trevon Wesco (ankle) on injured reserve last week, and Davis will get a chance to prove himself on the practice squad. The 6-foot-8, 280-pound tight end played for the St. Louis Battlehawks of the XFL last spring but never caught a pass. He has experience at offensive tackle and defensive end, too, making him a versatile player that the Jets hope to develop.
