Shrader signed with the Colts' practice squad Monday. Shrader has been cut and re-signed to the Colts' practice squad multiple times this season. Shrader didn't end up attempting a field goal in Sunday's loss, though he was perfect on all of his extra-point attempts. Shrader will likely be elevated to the active roster for Week 2 against the Packers if Gay is unable to participate in practice.

  • Colts' Spencer Shrader: Added to active roster

The Colts elevated Shrader from the practice squad Saturday ahead of Sunday's game against Houston. Matt Gay missed practice all week after undergoing surgery on a sports hernia following Indianapolis' last preseason game Aug. 22. Shrader's promotion would appear to indicate Gay won't be available Sunday, but official word on the Colts' plans at kicker won't be available until the team announces its inactive list 90 minutes prior to the 1 p.m. ET kickoff.
