Gispon caught one of five targets for four yards in Sunday's 17-3 win over the Patriots. He finishes the season with 21 catches for 229 yards on 38 targets.
Gipson didn't score a receiving touchdown in his rookie season, but he posted a rushing score and a punt return touchdown. He held down the punt and kick returner roles for the entire season -- posting 319 punt return yards and 511 kickoff return yards -- and saw more involvement on offense in the second half of the campaign. The 5-foot-9 Gipson likely profiles as more of a depth contributor than a consistent starter at wide receiver, but a spot on the 53-man roster will be his to lose next season.

Gipson had a particularly busy night in defeat, with both his reception and receiving yardage totals serving as the second highest of his young career. The rookie's target tally also qualified as a new high-water mark, and he's now logged one rush attempt in four of his last five games. After posting a career-high 77 receiving yards in Week 13 and scoring his first offensive touchdown in Week 14, Gipson maintained a prominent role against the Dolphins despite his lack of success on the stat sheet, which bodes well for his potential involvement in Week 16 against the Commanders. Gipson scored his first offensive touchdown in the NFL on a nine-yard run in the third quarter, doubling New York's lead to 14-0. He also had three punt returns for 17 yards. Whether it's as a traditional slot receiver or a gadget player, Gipson has carved out consistent playing time in New York's offense, albeit with only a few touches per game.
Gipson caught five of six targets for 77 yards in Sunday's 13-8 loss to the Falcons. He also rushed once for one yard, returned one kickoff for 25 yards and totaled 45 yards on four punt returns.
Gipson's 77 receiving yards were the most by a Jets player other than Garrett Wilson this season. He set up a second-quarter field goal with a 36-yard catch on a flea flicker and added a 25-yard catch in the fourth quarter as the Jets tried to mount a comeback. The first catch came on a Tim Boyle pass, while the latter was thrown by Trevor Siemian after Boyle was benched. Despite New York's unenviable quarterback situation, Gipson's role in the offense is growing heading into a Week 14 home game against the Texans.

Given how poorly they throw the ball generally and how often they focus on Garrett Wilson, it might not be wise to chase any Jets pass-catchers. But they clearly like Gipson, and he's starting to make some plays on offense, with his best game coming Sunday against the Falcons. He caught five of six passes thrown his way for a team-high 77 yards Sunday, and could be the secondary playmaker this passing game has been looking for. Whether that's enough to make him a viable Fantasy option remains to be seen, but he's worth a look in deeper leagues.

The Jets gave Gipson plenty of opportunities to showcase his skills in the preseason finale, and the undrafted rookie stepped up, which should help his chances of sticking around after Tuesday's final cuts. Gipson played with the second-team offense Saturday, and his punt return could have gone for a touchdown if he didn't just barely step out of bounds. His ability to contribute in the return game on special teams could help Gipson claim a roster spot on a wide receiver depth chart that recently gained an opening when Corey Davis announced that he's stepping away from football.
