Ferguson caught 10 of 12 targets for 93 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 48-32 wild-card loss to the Packers.
The second-year tight end was Dak Prescott's top option in the red zone, catching a one-yard score on the final play of the first half before adding two more TDs of seven and 14 yards in the fourth quarter as the Cowboys tried desperately to mount a comeback. Ferguson's huge playoff performance came on the heels of a breakout regular season in which he caught 71 of 102 targets for 761 yards and five touchdowns, finishing ninth among TEs in receptions and eighth in receiving yards. Assuming Prescott returns to Dallas in 2024, Ferguson figures to be one of his top targets once again.

If you start Ferguson, you're basically hoping for a touchdown grab or for him to see a ton of targets in a come-from-behind effort. The Cowboys are expected to lead this matchup pretty handily, which can squash the upside for a lot of yardage from Ferguson. As for his chances of scoring, 37% of his targets (7 of 19) over the past five weeks have come in the red zone. That's good. But the Seahawks have allowed one touchdown to a tight end all season (David Njoku, Week 8)! Mark Andrews had a great game against Seattle, but even he didn't score. I suspect the Seahawks will have a plan to try and cover Ferguson near the end zone without having to sacrifice too much elsewhere. He's a low-upside play I'd sit for Juwan Johnson, Gerald Everett and Logan Thomas.

I do worry a little bit about Ferguson not seeing a lot of targets in what should be a one-sided Cowboys win. But his role in the offense has grown and in the event the Giants bring the blitz, Ferguson could be an easy outlet for Prescott. That's on top of his already-established role as a red-zone target hog. He's probably a little more touchdown-dependent than I'd like to admit but he still qualifies as a top-12 TE because of that. I'd start Evan Engram and Cole Kmet over him in PPR, but not Logan Thomas, Kyle Pitts or David Njoku.
