Gary had six sacks in the first nine games last year before suffering a season-ending ACL tear against the Lions. The star pass rusher's status for the beginning of the 2023 campaign remains unclear, but it's encouraging to see him active this early in the offseason.

Gary was often used to blow up rushing lanes during his time with Michigan in the run-heavy Big Ten, and it appears the Packers are intrigued by the versatility he offers as a run stuffer and pass rusher. His clearest path to playing time as a rookie will most likely come at defensive end alongside Kenny Clark and Mike Daniels, as free-agent pickups Preston Smith and Za'Darius Smith are all but guaranteed to open the season as the starting outside linebackers. Gary could rotate in at a number of different spots throughout his rookie season anyway.
