  • Ravens' Devin Duvernay: Building strength after injury

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said Wednesday that Duvernay (foot) has been working hard and "kind of building his stamina back up" this spring. Duvernay suffered a broken fifth metatarsal Dec. 20 and didn't resume running until the spring. He's been doing some on-field activities at the first few OTA sessions but still has limitations five months removed from the major injury. Duvernay averaged only 3.5 targets per game last season despite starting in 13 of his 14 appearances, and he's likely sliding down the depth chart after the Ravens added wideouts Odell Beckham, Zay Flowers and Nelson Agholor this offseason. Duvernay is still likely to return punts and kickoffs once he's healthy, and the players in front of him for reps on offense don't have the best track records for durability or reliability.

  • Ravens' Devin Duvernay: Resumes running

Duvernay (foot) has resumed running as he continues to make progress in his recovery from surgery to address a broken fifth metatarsal, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. Duvernay expressed positivity about his current physical condition, so he appears to be on track to recover before training camp. The wideout suffered a broken fifth metatarsal in his right foot during practice last December. A Pro Bowl return man and a capable slot receiver, Duvernay can look forward to some stability on offense once he's healthy, with Lamar Jackson having been re-signed. Of course, the additions of Odell Beckham and rookie first-round pick Zay Flowers could cap his opportunities.

  • Ravens' Devin Duvernay: Likely sticking with Baltimore

Ravens coach John Harbaugh said he expects Duvernay (foot) to be with the team for 2023, Jonas Shaffer of the Baltimore Banner reports. There's been talk of Duvernay becoming a cap casualty after a second Pro Bowl nod activated a contract escalator that pushes his salary to a non-guaranteed $4.3 million for the fourth and final season of his rookie contract. It's a reasonable number, and arguably even a bargain, given that he's been a top-notch return man on both punts and kickoffs while also manning the slot on offense. There is some question about his health this offseason after Duvernay suffered a broken fifth metatarsal in his right foot during a Dec. 20 practice, though he should have enough time to recover before training camp even if he misses OTAs and minicamp. He finished 2022 with career highs in every major receiving stat, including YPR and YPT, yet still averaged only 3.5 targets per game and thus offered little in the way of fantasy value outside of return-yardage leagues.

  • Ravens' Devin Duvernay: Coach sheds light on injury

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh confirmed Thursday that Duvernay suffered a broken fifth metatarsal of his right foot during Tuesday's practice, Clifton Brown of the Ravens' official site reports. "[It was] out of the blue. He felt something [while running a route]," Harbaugh said. "We didn't know how serious is was or wasn't until later, and they got the X-rays back and it was just a broken fifth metatarsal." Duvernay was shuttled to injured reserve just hours after suffering the injury, opening up a spot on the 53-man roster for waiver-wire pickup Sammy Watkins in the process. Harbaugh seemed to suggest that Duvernay won't need surgery to address the injury, with the coach noting that the receiver will have a chance to return for the Super Bowl, should the Ravens be able to make an improbable postseason run. For all intents and purposes, however, Duvernay's 2022 season can be considered over, with the Ravens set to move forward with Demarcus Robinson, DeSean Jackson, Watkins and James Proche as their available options at receiver

  • Ravens' Devin Duvernay: Fractures foot, out for season

Duvernay sustained a broken foot during Tuesday's practice, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Though the Ravens placed Duvernay on injured reserve Tuesday, the exact nature of his injury wasn't revealed. With Duvernay having now been diagnosed with the fractured foot, he'll face a recovery timetable of approximately two months, which rules him out from returning during the postseason even if Baltimore clinches a spot and makes a deep run. With Duvernay sidelined, Demarcus Robinson, DeSean Jackson, Sammy Watkins and James Proche are candidates to see increased roles in Baltimore's passing game.

  • Ravens' Devin Duvernay: Heads to IR

The Ravens placed Duvernay (foot) on injured reserve Tuesday. The nature of the injury Duvernay suffered during Tuesday's practice still isn't fully known, but the Ravens evidently determined the issue was significant enough to sideline the receiver for the remaining three games of the regular season as well as the first round of the postseason, should Baltimore secure a spot. The Ravens claimed Sammy Watkins off waivers from the Packers on Tuesday, adding a healthy body to a depleted receiver room. Tight end Mark Andrews remains the Ravens' clear top option in the passing game, but the absence of Duvernay should at least open up more playing time and perhaps an extra target or two for the likes of Demarcus Robinson, DeSean Jackson, Watkins and James Proche.

  • Ravens' Devin Duvernay: Injured in practice

Duvernay suffered a foot injury during Tuesday's practice, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. The Ravens reportedly are concerned it's a significant injury and have Duvernay undergoing tests Tuesday afternoon. He hasn't seen many targets recently, but Duvernay and Demarcus Robinson have dominated the WR snaps for Baltimore the past month and a half. The Ravens claimed Sammy Watkins off waivers Tuesday in a move that arguably made sense even without the Duvernay injury.

  • Ravens' Devin Duvernay: Held catchless in win

Duvernay failed to secure his only target in Sunday's 16-14 win over the Steelers. Duvernay was a complete nonfactor, as the wideout failed to record a reception for the first time this season. With Lamar Jackson (knee) sidelined, the Ravens offense attempted just 17 passes in the contest, and it's hard to trust any of Baltimore's pass catchers as long as he's out. Duvernay projects as a risky play for fantasy purposes in Week 15 on the road against Cleveland.

  • Ravens' Devin Duvernay: Racks up 99 total yards in win

Duvernay secured all six targets for 34 yards, returned three kickoffs for 62 yards and returned one punt for three yards in the Ravens' 10-9 win over the Broncos on Sunday. Duvernay finished second on Baltimore in receptions and third in both receiving yards and targets, but outside of his long reception of 13 yards, he posted just 21 on his other five catches. Duvernay's catch total was also a season high, giving him some momentum heading into a Week 14 road matchup versus the Steelers.

  • Ravens' Devin Duvernay: Quiet in loss

Duvernay caught three of five targets for 23 yards and added 16 yards on two carries in Sunday's 28-27 loss to the Jaguars. Duvernay continued to run as the Ravens' No. 1 wideout Sunday, playing the most offensive snaps (56) of any Baltimore receiver. Unfortunately, the speedster couldn't get much going despite what was on paper a favorable matchup. Duvernay's recent struggles are just a part of what appears to be bigger issues with the Ravens' aerial attack, especially with Rashod Bateman (foot) out for the remainder of the season, Duvernay will look to bounce back from several weeks of lackluster performances when the Ravens host the Broncos in Week 13.

  • Ravens' Devin Duvernay: Suiting up Sunday

Duvernay (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Panthers. A late addition to the Ravens' Week 12 injury report, Duvernay had been listed as questionable heading into Sunday after the hamstring issue rendered him a limited participant at Friday's practice session. Ultimately, the injury wasn't enough of a concern to prevent Duvernay from suiting up Sunday, and the 25-year-old wideout isn't expected to face any limitations while serving in his usual starting role. Even with the Ravens having been without No. 1 wideout Rashod Bateman (foot) for their last two games and top tight end Mark Andrews for one of them, Duvernay has drawn just two targets between those contests.

  • Ravens' Devin Duvernay: Expected to play

Duvernay (hamstring) remains listed as questionable but is expected to suit up for Sunday's contest against the Jaguars, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Duvernay was limited in practice Friday, but he hadn't previously appeared on the Week 12 injury report for Baltimore. Duvernay and Demarcus Robinson (hip) -- who is listed as questionable but also expected to play -- have served as Lamar Jackson's top wideouts with Rashod Bateman (foot) out for the season. However, Duvernay has seen just two targets in his last two games, and he hasn't recorded 50 or more receiving yards since Week 5.

  • Ravens' Devin Duvernay: Questionable with hamstring injury

The Ravens list Duvernay as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jaguars due to a hamstring injury. Baltimore hadn't included Duvernay on its Week 12 injury report until he showed up Friday after being limited in practice due to the hamstring issue. It's unclear if the injury was something he brought into Friday or if he suffered the injury during practice and exited early as a result. Whatever the case, the Ravens will offer more clarity on his status with the release of their inactive list 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff. Duvernay has been the Ravens' No. 1 wide receiver in name while Rashod Bateman (foot) has been sidelined with a season-ending injury for the past two games, but he's drawn two combined targets in those contests despite playing 78 percent of the snaps on offense.

  • Ravens' Devin Duvernay: Held to one catch Sunday

Duvernay brought in his sole target for three yards, rushed once for four yards and returned two punts for five yards in the Ravens' 13-3 win over the Panthers on Sunday. Duvernay was disappointingly uninvolved on a day when Mark Andrews returned to action from a one-game absence and Demarcus Robinson stepped up with his biggest yardage total since 2019. The speedster's production is still tough to trust on a week-to-week basis, though he'll have a favorable matchup in a Week 12 road battle against an inconsistent Jaguars defense.

  • Ravens' Devin Duvernay: Struggles again as top receiver

Duvernay recorded one reception on one target for five yards in Monday's 27-13 win over the Saints. Duvernay seemed to have a clear role heading into the game with both Mark Andrews (shoulder) and Rashod Bateman (foot) sidelined. However, he managed his lone catch on Baltimore's second possession of the game and didn't factor in as a receiver from there. Despite a lack of healthy skill-position players in Baltimore, Duvernay has failed to top 50 receiving yards in four consecutive games.

  • Ravens' Devin Duvernay: Sleeper WRs

I'm willing to gamble on Duvernay this week as a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in all leagues. With Rashod Bateman (foot) out and Mark Andrews (shoulder) banged up, we could see more targets headed for Duvernay on a fast surface. Demarcus Robinson could also be a factor, and he just had six catches for 64 yards on eight targets in the game Bateman was injured in Week 8 at Tampa Bay. But Duvernay has the most upside of the group. He scored 16 PPR points against the Buccaneers, and Duvernay now has three games this season with at least 12 PPR points. The Saints have also allowed nine receivers to score at least 13 PPR points this year.

  • Ravens' Devin Duvernay: Primed for No. 1 receiver role

Duvernay is expected to serve as the Ravens' No. 1 wide receiver for the rest of the season after head coach John Harbaugh announced Thursday that Rashod Bateman (foot) won't play again in 2022, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports. Tight end Mark Andrews (shoulder/ankle) will most likely continue operating as the No. 1 target for quarterback Lamar Jackson while Bateman is out of the lineup, but Duvernay becomes the clear top option in the Ravens' weak wide-receiver room for the back half of the season. While Bateman was sidelined Weeks 5 and 6, Duvernay put together a 6-68-0 receiving line on 12 targets to go with three carries for 24 yards and a rushing score, production that doesn't immediately vault Duvernay into must-start status. That said, the absence of Bateman can still be viewed as a positive development for Duvernay, given that the seven and five targets he drew in Weeks 5 and 6 are his highest counts of the season. The Ravens have Demarcus Robinson, James Proche, Tylan Wallace and DeSean Jackson available as their other options at receiver, but none of the quartet have been as consistently involved in the passing attack this season as Duvernay.

  • Ravens' Devin Duvernay: Significant all-purpose role in win

Duvernay secured all four targets for 31 yards, rushed twice for 33 yards and a touchdown, returned three kickoffs for 72 yards and ran back three punts for 27 yards in the Ravens' 27-22 win over the Buccaneers on Thursday night. Duvernay's extremely busy stat line underscores his importance to the victory. The speedster's 15-yard rushing touchdown midway through the fourth quarter was critical in giving the Ravens some breathing room after the Buccaneers had closed to within 17-13, and it was his first trip to the end zone since Week 3. Duvernay's upside as a receiver is decidedly capped by his team's run-heavy approach, but if he continues to get more opportunities on the ground, it could certainly serve to supplement his overall fantasy production nicely. Duvernay's first opportunity to build on his best all-around performance of the season comes in a Week 9 road matchup against the Saints on Monday night, Nov. 7.

  • Ravens' Devin Duvernay: Two catches in win

Duvernay secured two of three targets for 42 yards in the Ravens' 23-20 win over the Browns. Duvernay tied Rashod Bateman for the team lead in receiving yards, but it was a modest figure overall on a day when Lamar Jackson threw for only 120 yards. Duvernay has recorded over 40 receiving yards in all but two games this season, but his overall upside remains capped thanks to Baltimore's usual run-first mentality. Duvernay's next opportunity to build up his numbers comes in a Week 8 Thursday night battle against the Buccaneers.

  • Ravens' Devin Duvernay: Sit Him (Lineup Decisions)

Duvernay has been fun to talk about but his statistical upside shouldn't enthrall you, mainly because he doesn't get enough targets to warrant anything but bye-week use as a touchdown-needy receiver. Even in full-PPR he hasn't had more than 12 points since Week 1. I'd rather take a shot at some upside on a guy like Darnell Mooney or Michael Gallup.
