Gaines was in line to miss the entire 2022 campaign after aggravating a hamstring injury in the Packers' preseason finale and subsequently being placed on injured reserve. He will now be able to look for a new opportunity once his health is back up to par.

Gaines aggravated the hamstring issue during the Packers' preseason finale against the Chiefs. The extent of the issue remains unclear, but he'll revert to Green Bay's injured reserve list if he clears waivers, which -- barring an injury settlement -- would end his 2022 campaign.
