Charles didn't catch his lone target in Sunday's 17-3 win over the Patriots.
Charles saw his first career target in the season finale but didn't catch it. He dressed in 12 games for the Jets but played almost exclusively on special teams. Charles added a special teams tackle in the win over New England, bringing his season total in that category to seven (six solo).

Jets' Irvin Charles: Limited to special teams
Charles played all 23 of his snaps on special teams in Sunday's 13-8 loss to the Falcons.
Though he was active ahead of Randall Cobb as the Jets' No. 5 receiver, Charles was relegated exclusively to a special-teams role while Garrett Wilson, Xavier Gipson, Jason Brownlee (ankle) and Allen Lazard handled all the available wideout snaps. Charles was unable to suit up for Sunday's contest against the Giants after sitting out the final session of Week 8 prep Friday. His full participation in Wednesday's practice indicates that he is on track to play in Week 9 against the Chargers on Monday night. Charles has appeared in two games this season -- he's logged 33 snaps on special teams and seven on offense -- without recording a stat.

Jets' Irvin Charles: Added to active roster
The Jets elevated Charles from the practice squad Saturday.
Charles spent the preseason with the Jets before being waived as part of the team's final roster cuts in late August. The undrafted wideout has spent the entirety of his rookie campaign on the team's practice squad, and he's now in line to make his NFL debut during Sunday's regular-season finale against Miami. Charles, who caught four passes for 27 yards during the preseason, will likely slot into a deep reserve role alongside Braxton Berrios and Denzel Mims.

Charles originally joined the Jets in May as an undrafted free agent out of Division II Indiana (Pa.), but he was subsequently waived.
