Mike Weber: Cut by Giants
The Giants waived Weber (hip) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Friday, NFL reporter Aaron Wilson reports.
Weber landed on injured reserve with a hip flexor issue in early August, and he'll now be free to seek out other opportunities. It's not yet clear when the 23-year-old will be healthy enough to return to the field.

Weber inked a deal with the Giants just before the start of camp, but he suffered an early injury. The 23-year-old is still looking to make his NFL debut since being drafted in the seventh round by the Cowboys in 2019.

Weber is still looking for a chance to make his NFL debut. Since joining the Cowboys as a seventh-round pick in 2019, Weber has also logged brief stints with the Chiefs and Packers. His chances to compete in New York will likely be limited to special teams.

The Packers waived Weber on Wednesday, Olivia Reiner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Weber signed a reserve/future contract with Green Bay in January, but he'll become a free agent after the team signed linebacker De'Vondre Campbell on Tuesday to fill the running back's spot on the roster. The 23-year-old hasn't yet played a regular-season snap in the NFL since being drafted by the Cowboys in the seventh round of the 2019 draft.

Weber did not ultimately see any game action during Sunday night's 41-25 win over Chicago, and he remains without a regular-season appearance since entering the NFL in 2019.

AJ Dillon is still on the reserve/COVID-19 list, and Tyler Ervin (ribs) is considered questionable for Sunday night's game against the Bears. Weber will add depth in the backfield behind Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams. His elevation signals that Ervin may be trending in the wrong direction, but Weber doesn't figure to play much if Ervin is active.

Weber didn't survive cut-down day Saturday, but he'll at least be able to stick around in Dallas. The Ohio State product rushed for 2,676 yards and 24 touchdowns over 28 games in college before being selected in the seventh round by the Cowboys in this year's draft.
