Anderson (knee) was released off the Giants' injured reserve with an injury settlement Monday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Anderson was placed on IR prior to roster cutdowns last week, and he'll now have a chance to play this season once he recovers from the knee injury. The 27-year-old last played in the regular season with the Bears in 2017.

Bears' Jonathan Anderson: Promoted to Chicago's roster
The Bears promoted Anderson from their practice squad Wednesday.
It's the third time Anderson has been added to the 53-man roster this season, with his latest promotion coming as a result of Pernell McPhee (shoulder) landing on injured reserve. Considering Anderson has played 86.3 percent of his snaps on special teams in his 10 games with Chicago this season, it's unlikely that head coach John Fox will hand the linebacker extended snaps on defense over the Bears' final two contests of 2017.

Anderson suffered a shoulder injury during Saturday's preseason loss to the Chiefs, Rich Campbell of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Signed by the Bears as an undrafted free agent in May of 2015, Anderson was a resident of the practice squad for the first five games before receiving a promotion to the active roster In Week 6. He earned three starts along the way, compiling 36 tackles (30 solo), two passes defended, and one interception, while logging 30 percent of the defensive snaps and 32 percent of the special teams snaps. Currently, the severity of Anderson's shoulder injury is unknown, but he serves as a depth inside linebacker when healthy.
