Jaguars' Roc Thomas: Back on IR
Thomas (suspension) reverted to the Jaguars' injured reserve after clearing waivers Sunday, according to the NFL's official transaction log.
Thomas signed a contract with the Jaguars earlier this month after having been let go by Minnesota and will now spend the remainder of the season on IR barring an injury settlement. The second-year running back is also facing a three-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Thomas was recently let go by Minnesota, after he was suspended three games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. He'll head to Jacksonville where he faces plenty of competition for snaps behind lead man Leonard Fournette. Considering his three-game suspension, Thomas shouldn't be considered a lock to make the roster. Thomas was in line to compete for a depth role with the Vikings heading into the 2019 season. It's unclear whether his three-game suspension is what made him the odd man out in Minnesota's running back room, or whether the team is simply confident in Ameer Abdullah and Mike Boon as depth options behind Dalvin Cook and Alexander Mattison. Thomas played in five games with the Vikings as a rookie last season, logging eight carries for 30 yards in addition to 59 snaps on special teams.

Vikings' Roc Thomas: Draws three-game suspension
Thomas has been suspended for three games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports.
Thomas, who was sentenced to three years probation in May after pleading guilty to a felony charge of marijuana possession, can practice with the Vikings during training camp and play in the preseason, but he'll sit out the team's first three regular-season games before becoming eligible to return to the field Sept. 23. Thomas is in line to compete for a depth role in the Minnesota backfield (behind Dalvin Cook and Alexander Mattison) along with Mike Boone and Ameer Abdullah.

The Vikings are signing Thomas (hamstring) to their practice squad Thursday, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
Thomas was waived by the Vikings earlier this week to make room for Ameer Abdullah on the 53-man roster. The undrafted rookie will rejoin Minnesota as a practice squad player. While it's possible that Thomas could carve out another depth role, it seems unlikely that the undrafted rookie will play significant offensive snaps this season.

Thomas was waived by Minnesota to make room for former Lions' running back Ameer Abdullah. The undrafted free agent rushed eight times for 30 yards and zero touchdowns with the Vikings this season, and caught two passes for 21 yards. If Thomas clears waivers, he'll be free to search for a depth role elsewhere in the league.
