  • Bears' Greg Stroman: Returns to Chicago

Stroman was signed to the active roster from the Bears' practice squad on Thursday, Larry Mayer of the team's official site reports.

Stroman appeared in two games with the Bears last season and spent training camp with them as well, but he didn't make the final cut and ended up on the practice squad. However, with Kyler Gordon (hand) going on injured reserve Thursday, Stroman will now be called upon again to contribute. He should serve a depth role in the secondary Sunday against the Buccaneers.

  • Bears' Greg Stroman: Joining the Bears

Stroman signed a one-year deal with Chicago on Thursday.

Stroman will sign with the Bears after trying out for the team during this past week's voluntary minicamp. The 2018 seventh-rounder tallied 38 tackles, four passes defended and one interception over 15 games during his rookie season with the Commanders, but managed to play just three defensive and 43 special-teams snaps while spending most of the next two seasons on injured reserve. Stroman was waived in August of 2021 after starting training camp on the PUP list for Washington and signed with Buffalo's practice squad in December.

  • Greg Stroman: Joins Buffalo's practice squad

Stroman (undisclosed) signed with Buffalo's practice squad Thursday.

This signing suggests Stroman is over the injury that bothered him while he was in camp with Washington. If the Bills like what they see from Stroman in practice, they could add him to the roster to provide depth in a secondary that recently lost Tre'Davious White to a season-ending ACL tear.

Stroman (foot) is ruled out for Sunday's game against the Rams, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.

Stroman was forced out of Week 4's game against Baltimore, and he'll now have to miss at least one more contest while working to recover from his foot injury. He's only played one defensive snap this season, so Stroman's absence will primarily impact Washington's plan on special teams.

  • Redskins' Greg Stroman: Batting for depth job

Stroman likely will compete with Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a few other players for a depth role, Andrew Breitfelder of the team's official website reports.

Stroman started three games and played 386 defensive snaps as a rookie last season, filling in for Quinton Dunbar (shin) late in the year. With Dunbar expected to return healthy alongside Josh Norman and Fabian Moreau, the 2018 seventh-round pick may be left to compete for the No. 4 cornerback job.

Stroman finished his rookie season with 37 tackles (30 solo), an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 15 games, playing 386 snaps on offense and 179 on special teams.
